This week we will be continuing our studies of political parties in the government along with the election process shown in Chapter 6. This week the Democrats will be center stage as they convene for the Democratic National Covention in Charlotte, North Carolina. Just as we watched a few speeches and presentations from the Republicans last week we will do the same this week with the incumbent President and his party. Along with the stories we will cover information from the book and will complete a group activity in class. Please see the lessons below if you have any questions. It is very important that you try to be here at school this week for your group activities as your members will be counting on you.
Monday-Labor Day, No School
Tuesday-Guest Speaker from International Business College on Ethics and opportunities for education after high school.
Wednesday-Conclude information from Chapter 5 with PowerPoint and begin group activity on creating a political party. You will be assigned groups because it is important to learn to work with others. Tonight you should read Ch 6 Sections 1 and 2 on your own.
Thursday-Continue group work and go over sections 1-2 in Chapter 6. Read Sections 3-5 as homework.
Friday-Finish group project and information from Chapter 6, sections 3-5.
We will do a review of Chapters 5 and 6 on Monday the 10th and test on the 11th of next week.
