This week we will continue to learn about the voting and electoral process. Thank you for being cooperative with the change of plans last week as I promise this will be the week you learn about Democrats and Republicans. I hope to get you looking at the upcoming candidates for 2016 by beginning a project on the candidates.
Also I have been reading your September 11 writing responses and I believe you all appreciated learning more about the events, but also gained an understanding as why government is important in society.
MONDAY 9/7--Labor Day
TUESDAY 9/8--DDOG (news), Labor Clip from White House, finish discussing Voters and Voter Qualifications, show clip of someone voting and citizenship oath
WEDNESDAY 9/9--DDOG (news), continue Voter qualification by showing an example of Literacy Tests and also obstacles that are faced in modern day, start looking at voting trends and behaviors, begin explaining differences between Democrats and Republicans-follow lecture with handout
THURSDAY 9/10--DDOG (news), finish Democrats and Republicans explanations with group quiz (signs)--turn in notes/handout
FRIDAY 9/11--DDOG (news)-COLLECT, brief 9-11 information or story, start discussing public opinion and mass media roles, if time start advertising assignment with campaign commercials
