“Our beliefs influence our thoughts, and those thoughts determine our actions.” This episode, I explore the idea of belief and how important it is in our lives. I mentioned at the beginning that Thanksgiving being so late in the month, I have begun to think that I am already behind on Christmas. I noticed how this thought which could become a belief is not really helpful to me. I mentioned Inside Out 2, that gave such a good visual on how we get beliefs. I share how beliefs can be empowering or limiting. And what belief can help us to do in our lives. Then I also share a bit about how detrimental self-doubt can be. Belief really does rule how we see the world, so let’s be mindful of what we are choosing to believe.
Show Notes: Hi Friends! I hope you enjoyed listening to this episode. Below are all the references.
What I learned this week - First I share a little bit about lake effect snow. Pretty cool phenomenon.
Belief really is so important. It our the thoughts that fuel what we think and do each day. I mentioned how the movie Inside Out 2 really did a great job of visually showing a representation of how beliefs are formed. I have a quick link to a short part of the video below. These beliefs then can help empower us or limit us. Even my small belief that I am behind with Christmas really does not help me get more motivated to finish up Christmas. In fact, I feel anxious, which then make me feel less motivated.
I also loved learning about the power of beliefcan create vision, creates strength of will, creates resilience and ignites and activates. Then this great quote from The Power of Belief article by David Trichel
“What you believe either empowers you or it limits you. Empowering beliefs pull your performance up; limiting beliefs pull your performance down. This is especially true under competitive pressure or in response to challenging situations. The good news is that what you believe is your choice.”
