Esther 4:14 ... and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

“So instead of wishing away this season, ask the Lord to use you and shape you through the stinky seasons. Life isn’t always going to be good. We’re going to go through trials and just flat out hard stuff, but with Christ we can still have joy. Through His strength we can find contentment and be at peace in any situation we are in. Friends, I encourage you today to lay down whatever it is that is stealing your joy. And keep laying it down. Don’t wish away where you are, instead embrace it. Dive in headfirst knowing that you have a savior who is working all things for your good. Thank him for this season believing and knowing that He is using this to strengthen your faith and endurance. We always have the promise of knowing His plan is good and there is a always reason why.”

Finding Joy in the Journey- We focus on the destination, but the process can be just as enjoyable.

“it's important to pause and look around and take in how far we’ve come. Think about driving up a mountain. When we start driving up the mountain, we’re hyper-focused ahead of us, driving in a zigzag formation following the road. But if we pause after 5 minutes and (safely) look over our shoulder, we will realize how far we’ve come up the mountain. It is so easy to get focused on the road ahead of us that we don’t take time to look around. It’s important to take those moments.”

Reflect on the progress you’ve made in any area of your life or work. What would happen if you focused more on the journey and less on the outcome? Think back to five years ago:

  • Where were you then (in your career, your relationships, your health)?

  • What has the journey from then until now taught you? How have you grown? What have you learned?

  • Who has been on the journey with you, encouraging you, laughing with you, supporting you?

  • What summits have you celebrated along the way?

  • How have difficult circumstances or unexpected bumps in the road ultimately led to at least one good thing in your life?
