Episode 176: Hope of the resurrection - An easter message

Hope of the resurrection - an easter message - Episode 176

“... even so in Christ, all shall be made alive.”  Happy Easter.  A quick easter message about the hope that we can gain from the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I share the belief that we all made a choice before we came to this earth to follow our Heavenly Father’s plan. I then talk of  a few ideas about this wonderful, miraculous gift that all of us will be resurrected one day and be reunited with our bodies.  What a blessing and feeling of hope we can  hold onto because of the gift of the resurrection.  Take a moment to think about that this weekend as we all celebrate Easter!

What I learned this week -  Happy Easter!  This week's message I have been thinking a lot about the blessing of a promised ressurrection for all of us.  And because Jesus Christ overcame death and was the first to be resurrected.  We all will be resurrected some day and reunited with out bodies.   One of the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that we lived before we came to this earth and were presented with a plan to come to this earth.   Our Heavenly Parenst needed us to progress away from them and wanted to provide a way for us to return.  The way that all of us choose to follow who have come to this earth is with Jesus Christ as our Savior.  We wanted to come to earth and to be able to choose for ourselves despite all of the challenges that meant for us that we probably didn't really understand.  Everyone who is on the earth now or how has ever been on this earth choose to follow Jesus Christ because we all received bodies.   We may not remember that time.  I believe that as a result of that choice we were all given the gift of resurrection.  To be able to be reunited with our bodies.  Our family and friends will receive that same gift no matter if they continued to choose to follow and believe in Jesus Christ.

I also share that the resurrection is overcoming the real enemy of us all, death.  When Christ came to the earth most of the people were looking for a messiah to ovecome their enemy - the Romans.  But Christ was doing something so much bigger - to overcome both sin and death.

What a blessing and gift we have been given to be able to reunited with our bodies and live an immortal life.

1 Corinthians 15:20-22, 25-26

But now is aChrist brisen from the dead, and become the cfirstfruits of them that slept.

21 For since by man came adeath, by man came also the bresurrection of the dead.

22 For as in aAdam all bdie, even so in cChrist shall all be made dalive.

25 For he must areign, till he hath put all benemies under his cfeet.

26 The last aenemy that shall be bdestroyed is cdeath.

President Russell M. Nelson “ Death is a necessary component of our eternal existence.  No one knows when it will come, but it is essential to God’s great plan of happiness.  Thanks to the Atonement of the Lord, eventual resurrection is a reality and eternal life is a possibility for all human kind.”  Now is the time to prepare April 2005 General Conference and found it in Grave has no victory April 2021 Renya I. 2 Nephi 9: 8,10, and 12

8 O the awisdom of God, his bmercy and cgrace! For behold, if the dflesh should rise no more our spirits must become subject to that angel who efell from before the presence of the Eternal God, and became the fdevil, to rise no more.

10 O how great the agoodness of our God, who prepareth a way for our bescape from the grasp of this awful monster; yea, that monster, cdeath and dhell, which I call the death of the body, and also the death of the spirit.

12 And this adeath of which I have spoken, which is the spiritual death, shall deliver up its dead; which spiritual death is bhell; wherefore, death and hell must cdeliver up their dead, and hell must deliver up its dcaptive espirits, and the grave must deliver up its captive fbodies, and the bodies and the gspirits of men will be hrestored one to the other; and it is by the power of the resurrection of the Holy One of Israel.
