“Go see the washing of the lions.” Happy April Fools’ Day! I am going to share a little bit of the history of where this tradition is thought to have originated. I talk about some old stories from back in the 1500s and 1600s of what people used to do. I am also going to give you a few ideas for the day. Now I know this comes out on April Fools’ day but maybe you can squeeze in a few harmless pranks before the day is over.
Show Notes: Hi Friends! I hope you enjoyed listening to this episode. Below are all the references.
A few things I learned this week:
First that no one really knows when or why April Fool's day started. I mention a few theories that I learned. Theory one, Because of the change of the calendar from Julian or Gregorian. Theory two, it could be after and ancient roman holiday called Hilaria - a day of joy, merriment, and dressing up in disguises. Theory three, is because of the mother nature and spring weather being so unpredictable.
There are lots of fun accounts which I mentioned in the podcast as well. Below you will find the articles that I found all the info from. Plus look for the video that the BBC put out to prank its viewers about harvesting spaghetti tree. And finally I will have a link to a few of the places I found the ideas for harmless pranks.
