Episode 46: thoughts about Easter

Thoughts about Easter - Episode 46

“Because of Him all men will be raised from the grave.” Happy Good Friday. Today I take some time to contemplate what Easter really means and how we truly don’t understand all the things that Jesus Christ has done for us. Spending a study abroad in Jerusalem 25 years ago, I share a few experiences that really have helped my belief and testimony of Jesus Christ. I hope you can take some time to think and ponder this special gift of this Easter Season.

We honor His birth. But without His death that birth would have been but one more birth. It was the redemption which He worked out in the Garden of Gethsemane and upon the cross of Calvary which made His gift immortal, universal, and everlasting. His was a great Atonement for the sins of all mankind. He was the resurrection and the life, “the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Cor. 15:20). Because of Him all men will be raised from the grave.

Mosiah 2:20-21

20 I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the athanks and bpraise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that God who has created you, and has kept and cpreserved you, and has caused that ye should drejoice, and has granted that ye should live in peace one with another—

21 I say unto you that if ye should aserve him who has created you from the beginning, and is bpreserving you from day to day, by lending you cbreath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own dwill, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your ewhole souls yet ye would be funprofitable servants.
