Episode 94: Some thoughts on abundance

Some thoughts on Abundance- Episode 94

“It is the paradigm that there is plenty out there and enough to spare for everybody.” This week I am exploring the idea or outlook of abundance. I have loved learning more deeply about this topic. So in the podcast I share a few different points on this outlook. First is that God created this world with plenty and more to spare. The second is to think about moving beyond gratitude to thoughts where you actually want the things, ideas or people that you are grateful for. And I also share a few stories that relate to these ideas, about a Gecko and a yard sale. Join me as I share what I have learned about this mindset.

Show Notes: Hi Friends! I hope you enjoyed listening to this episode. Below are all the references.

Things that I learned this week : First I think this was more of a reminder but that God has created this world with enough and to spare. The earth is full and God knew he needed to have enough resources for so many of His children to live on this earth. I love this idea as well as that Christ came into the world so that we could live more abundantly.

Then I also learned this new thought growing out of gratitude. Is actually wanting the things that you are grateful for. So if I am grateful for my husband, I can also say that I want to be married to my husband. That statement really has even more of an impact.

Then I just love learning a little bit from 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. The idea of abundance is that there is more than enough in the world, resources, money, recognition, love, etc. And that when we believe this we behave at a high level. "We believe there’s enough for everybody, and we take it as a challenge to figure out how to make that so. " I love this quote especially that last part, we take it as a challenge to figure out how to make it so. It involves us doing something and being proactive and creative as well.

Below are the articles I used for this podcast. Some listen I didn't reference but I wanted to share because they were a good read.

John 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

By Thomas S. Monson

by Spencer W. Kimball

D&C 104:17 For the earth is full, and there is enough and to spare; yea I prepared all things, and have given unto the children of men to be agents unto themselves.”

Deuteronomy 15:7-8 ; If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in they land which the Lord Thy God Giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, not shut thine hand form they poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.”
