Ingredients
½ c butter
½ c sugar
½ c molasses
1 egg yolk
2 c flour
½ t salt
½ t baking powder
½ t baking soda
½ t cinnamon
1 t cloves
1 t ginger
½ t nutmeg
Directions
1) In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
2) Stir in molasses and egg yolk.
3) In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder & soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg.
4) Blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until smooth.
5) Cover and chill for 1 hour.
6) On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to ¼ in. thick.
