Ingredients
2 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 T sugar
¼ t salt
½ c shortening
⅔ c milk
Directions
1) In a bowl, stir together dry ingredients.
2) Cut in shortening till the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3) Make a well in the center; add milk. Stir just till the dough clings together.
4) On a lightly floured surface, knead dough gently for 10-12 strokes.
5) Pat dough to ½ in thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter.
6) Transfer the biscuits to a baking sheet. Bake @ 450 for 10-12 min.
