Ingredients
Cake
2 cup sugar
2 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup water
4 Tablespoons cocoa
½ cup buttermilk
2 eggs- beaten
1 Tablespoon vanilla
Icing
½ cup butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
6 Tablespoons buttermilk
3 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
*1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Cake
1) Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a greased cookie sheet and set aside.
2) Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a pan, melt butter, water, and cocoa and bring to a boil.
3) Pour this into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
4) Mix them together with a mixing spoon.
5) Add buttermilk, eggs that are beaten, and vanilla.
6) Spread this batter into a greased cookie sheet.
7) Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
Icing
1) In a medium sauce pan, melt butter, add cocoa, vanilla, and milk. Bring to boil.
2) In a mixing bowl, add powdered sugar and the chocolate mixture. Mix using a hand mixer.
3) With no lumps remaining, spread icing on the cake while it is hot. *Top with nuts if desired.
