Recipe
Ingredients
2 (8-ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
1 c white sugar
1 t Mexican vanilla extract
2 (8-ounce) cans of refrigerated crescent rolls or 1 batch of Golden Crescent Rolls
¾ c white sugar
1 t ground cinnamon
½ c butter, room temperature
Directions
1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
2) Beat the cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar and the vanilla extract until smooth.
3) Unroll the cans of crescent roll dough, and use a rolling pin to shape each piece into 9x13-inch rectangles. Press one piece into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
4) Mix the cream cheese mixture evenly into the baking dish, then cover with the remaining crescent dough.
5) Spread softened butter over the top layer of crescent rolls.
6) Stir together ¾ c of sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the butter.
7) Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 30 minutes.
8) Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
