Ingredients-Cake
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup water
4 Tablespoons cocoa
½ cup buttermilk
2 eggs beaten
1 Tablespoon vanilla
Ingredients-Icing
½ cup butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
6 Tablespoons buttermilk
3 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
*1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Cake
Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a greased cookie sheet and set aside.
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a pan, melt butter, water, and cocoa and bring to a boil.
Pour this into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
Mix them together with a mixing spoon.
Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, and vanilla.
Spread this batter into a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
ICING
In a medium sauce pan, melt butter, add cocoa, vanilla, and milk. Bring to boil.
In a mixing bowl, add powdered sugar and the hot chocolate mixture. Mix using a hand mixer.
With no lumps remaining, spread icing on the cake while it is hot
*Top with nuts.
