ONE innovation which Stamford Indoor Bowls Club has introduced for this next season is a club lapel badge bearing the SIBC crest in red, white, blue black and gold.

The initiative of committee member Tony Barwell, who believes there is a demand for special identification for the club - not just for members but for visiting players, too, many of whom are collectors of bowls memorabilia - and which could also raise funds.

There had been some limited demand in the past for a club badge and the management committee agreed that a limited number should be purchased and re-sold at a nominal fee.

The badges, which have a single piercing at the back, suitable for short or jacket lapel, are available for £2 each. Ask at reception. BW
