Last chance to vote Blue or Green

Samples of blue and green carpet at Stamford IBC

With the SIBA directors due to meet next month to decide on the colour of the replacement playing surface, it's Stamford IBC members' last chance to influence their decision by voting 'blue', 'green' or 'don't care'.

Suppliers Dales have offered the choice of the standard green carpet which the club has featured since it was formed in 1990 or a royal blue version identical to that recently installed at Lincoln & District Indoor Bowls Club.

It is believed the price of replacement - together with a new underlay - is the same whichever colour the directors choose.

With the current carpet starting to show signs of wear and tear - they rarely last more than 20 years - members have, since September, taken part in a fun vote to offer an opinion on the colour choice.

And there is still time to have a say - the more traditional green or the blue preferred by television production companies and those clubs raising their profile and showing even their domestic matches on the Internet.

Voting forms are available opposite reception.

EIBA PAIRS DEFEAT

Showing a tremendous combination of draw and drive bowling Matt Whyers and Jordan Philpott proved too much of a handful for Stamford's Mick Humphreys and John Holroyd in the national pairs.

The Stamford duo final conceded with ends to spare on 4-22.
