Presidents Remembered

Former president, Arthur Lonslow, who served in that role for Stamford and District Indoor Bowls Club from 2018-19 has died. He played for the club’s men’s A & B teams, the Over 60s and with his wife Janet for the mixed and friendly teams, having taken up the game less than a decade ago.

For 23 years he was a maintenance electrician at Dow-Mac and for 17 years a generator winder at Newage.

Other former Stamford IBC bowlers who have passed away recently include Barbara Romaine, David Ingram and Rob Church. The club sends its condolences to all the bereaved relatives families.

The funeral of Northants Bowling Federation president Dick Noble was held at Peterborough Crematorium and attended by many bowlers wearing county or club colours as requested by the family.

Sympathisers included current English Bowling Federation president Trevor Hardingham from Norfolk with donations of nearly £925 raised for the Sue Ryder charity.
