WITH 40 points from their first four matches, Stamford have recovered from a disappointing start to their Lincs Over 60s League Division Two campaign.

Defeats at Lincoln B and Boston, where they picked up a total of just eight points, set them back but two 16-point wins has put them top of the table and looking forward to the chance of regaining promotion.

With Tony Barwell and Jeff Bourne continueing to show outstanding form, it was the quartet skipped by Richard Montgomery that took the honours - again on their favoured rink one - with a 41-4 scoreline, though rinks skipped by Cliff Watson (31-13), Trevor Christie (25-11) and Richard Martin (24-9) were almost equally comprehensive.

The team visits Grantham on November 20.
