Runaway win by Lincs Over 60s League team over Skegness

A runaway victory by 44 shots by Mick Owens quartet on the occasionally enigmatic rink one proved the bedrock for Stamford's senior win in the Lincs League Division One over a depleted Skegness B.

Supported by Tony Barwell, Gerry Corby and Trevor Christie, Owens included an opening end six, a five and three four-counts and only conceded three ends in their 48-4 demolition.

The Seasiders five rinks obviously struggled to adapt from their early morning coach trip for the breakfast-time start and never recovered from trailing 41-13 after just five ends.

Though Albert Horton's four were held 19-17 with six ends to play, Stamford suffered only one rink defeat and comfortably hold on to their third place in the league.
