STAMFORD bowlers suffered no ill effects from their next match on Sunday following their dismissal from the Denny Plate 24 hours earlier, the team completely dominating visitors Louth A in this Lincs Men's League Division One clash.

They won by 100 shots, taking 17 of the 18 points at stake to keep the pressure on league leaders Lincoln who have already beaten Scunthorpe and Boston, accumulating 34 points.

Stamford, the defending champions, having won the title last year for the first time in their history, have 31 points out of a possible 36.

Of the five Stamford rinks everyone was vying for the individual prize but in the end it was the quartet of Dave Hudson, Mal Smith, Adam Warrington and Paul Bailey who took the honours by scoring 42 shots against Louth captain Alan Watson's rink.

Two points were also collected by the rinks skipped by Martyn Dolby (which included a seven count on the 13th end), Roger Martin and Richard Montgomery (an able deputy skip after the late withdrawal of Simon Law, winning 13 successive ends). Peter Edwards was held to a draw by Simon Reeson.

Stamford's next match is a tricky visit to Spalding on November 25.
