Martyn Dolby will feature in two Lincs Co-op-sponsored finals at Boston IBC on April 22 after securing his place in both the pairs and Over 60 singles - a title he is defending after first winning it in 2015.

In a thrilling pairs semi-final he partnered Stephen Harris to a 15-14 victory over home-based Kevin Rands and Mike Smith. They will play another Lincoln duo in the final, with Danny Brown and former world indoor singles champion Billy Jackson edging home 16-15 against Spalding's Graham Smith and Ashley Caress.

Said Martyn :"The first few ends were shared but then Stephen and I forged ahead to a 13-5 lead. But when they won an end Mike walked up the green with the mat. We were not phased but kept losing single shots until we found ourselves pegged back to a nerve jangling 14 apiece going down the final 18th end.

"We held a precarious single but it was crying out for Kevin to tickle the jack to two waiting woods which he did on his second attempt. When he also played a blocker I managed with a slight deflection it push the jack to two of our back bowls, which Kevin was unable to disturb."

In the seniors event, played over 18 ends, Dolby beat clubmate Derek King 22-6 and will play old adversary Maurice Elding, who accounted for Stamford's Dave Hudson 19-9.
