Derek King has reached the semi-finals of the Northants Federation singles with a 21-18 defeat of clubmate John Holroyd. Down 5-14 at one stage, King trailed the jack for a full house of four, then added four more in the next two ends.

Holroyd regained the initiative to lead 16-13 before King added six shots in three ends and finally grabbed the two singles he needed to earn a semi final with the holder Simon Law.

Peter Edwards, Stephen Harris and Cliff Watson have reached the semi-finals of the triples with a comfortable defeat of Alan Romaine, Doug Want and Keith Rippin. John Holroyd's rink against Howard Shipp, Nick Wilkie and Joe Randall were disqualified after inadvertently fielding a cup-tied player.

In the men's pairs Tony Scarr and Trevor Collins edged home 18-16 against Mike Humphreys and Mick Duell. Harris and Edwards lost to Adam Warrington and Martyn Dolby (11-18) who now play Neil Wright and Howard Shipp.

Dolby was also successful in the mixed as lead to Christine Ford over Carol Hunter and Joe Martin (15-14) to earn a semi-final against clubmates Shirley Suffling and King, who knocked out Stephen and Louise Harris.

Peter Edwards earned the right to meet clubmate Doug Want in the semi-final of the Senior singles with a 21-15 defeat of Joe Martin at Peterborough. It guarantees Stamford representation in the final against either Martyn Dolby or Mick Linnell (Peterborough).
