Más popular en Europa que en USA, "Falcon Crest" recurre a una actriz invitada (Gina Lollobrigida) que encarnará a la nueva hermanastra de Angela Channing. "Dinastía" se convertirá en el centro del huracán con la polémica relacionada con la enfermedad de Rock Hudson, y con su sangriento final con boda incluida. "California" presenta en una de sus mejores etapas a Ava Gardner, y "Dallas" a su nueva Ellie, Donna Reed.

Corría la primavera de 1985. Cuando se inicia el rodaje de su 7ª temporada, los productores de "Dallas" aún no han decidido quién sustituirá a la gran Barbara Bel Geddes como Ellie. Tardará 6 ó 7 eps. en aparecer su sustituta: la venerable y siempre elegante Donna Reed, principal y única estrella de la serie de los Ewing en esta etapa. Mientras, las demás presentarán, entre otros, a Ava Gardner, Howard Duff, Alec Baldwin, Anne Archer, Gina Lollobrigida, Rock Hudson, Ali McGraw y Celeste Holm.

- "Dinastía": Spelling remonta la desbandada de Pamela Sue Martin con la incorporación de otra hija secreta, Amanda (encarnada por la inexpresiva Catherine Oxenberg) que, en la última escena de la temporada, se casa con el Príncipe de la entonces inexistente Moldavia. Una masacre revolucionaria y escandalosamente antimonárquica acaba con una última secuencia repleta de (presuntos) cadáveres, incluidos los de Blake, Krystle, Jeff, Ashley (Ali MacGraw), los novios; Claudia, Adam, Steven y su nuevo novio Luke (Billy Campbell), el Rey de Moldavia (Joel Fabiani, el Alex Ward de "Dallas") y unos cuantos más...Mientras, lejos de allí, reaparece Fallon con la cara y exuberante cuerpo de Emma Samms, por lo demás, amnésica...

- "Falcon Crest": En el mejor final de su historia, la serie da por terminada esta etapa con otra violenta trama: un atentado contra Richard Channing que también pone en peligro la vida de Maggie. Inesperadamente, en el último minuto, se insinúa un giro que dará mucho juego: la atracción entre la "buena" y el "malo", además cuñados. El culpable del atentado será de forma poco disimulada la ex secre-amante de Richard, Pamela Lynch (Sarah Douglas), a pesar de que se crea un ambiente similar al de "¿Quién disparó contra J.R.?" centrado en Richard. Al mismo tiempo, Angela es víctima de una venganza por parte de la glamurosa pero implacable Cassandra Wilder (Anne Archer), que aparece con su madre Anna (la añorada Celeste Holm). Melissa ingresa en prisión por haber provocado el accidente de coche de Angela, y su prima Robin (Barbara Howard) se queda en casa, embarazada de Cole. Lance permite que se practique la eutanasia a su mujer Lorraine (Kate Vernon) y Maggie sorprende a Chase en brazos de la apasionada Connie (Carla Borelli), dando por terminado su matrimonio...

- "California": Metida de lleno en el estilo lujoso y sin escrúpulos de "Dallas" y "Dinastía", "California" presenta en su final a la pobre Val siendo separada una vez más, de sus bebés gemelos, presuntamente muertos al nacer pero, en realidad, adoptados ilegalmente...Esta enrevesada e interminable trama pone a la serie-hermana de "Dallas" al límite del absurdo, aunque buenos personajes (y actores) como Greg, Laura, Karen y Mack (Kevin Dobson) siempre salvan la función, con el aliciente además de la "guest star" Ava Gardner...Mención aparte merece la espectacular Donna Mills, que presiona a Lorimar para que mejore el "look" de la serie e incluso promociona a Travilla como nuevo responsable de vestuario...En aquel final, sin embargo, chirrían las tramas de Joshua (Alec Baldwin) y Cathy (Lisa Hartman)...

- "Dallas": The End (el final, o lo que debería haber sido el final). La "muerte" de Bobby atropellado por su psico-cuñada Katherine ante la mirada desesperada de Pam. La pareja planeaba volver a casarse y él dejará, no una, sino dos viudas (Jenna aún no conocía el cambio de planes). Por si esto fuera poco, Sue Ellen vuelve a la bebida por culpa de J.R., que quiere meter en Southfork a la modelo Mandy (Deborah Shelton). Cliff intenta, sin éxito, desembarazarse de su esposa Jamie (Jenilee Harrison) alegando que se hizo una vasectomía, tras perder ella (y él) su parte de la Ewing Oil. Lucy se marcha de la serie casándose por 2ª vez con Mitch, y Donna se negaba a volver con Ray, aunque espera un hijo suyo. Por allí rondaba una dama repeinada y con cara despistada que pretendía hacerse pasar por Ellie...Antes de "morir", Bobby rogaba a su familia: "Be good to each other..."

Pero esta dosis de moralina final y, sobre todo, la carencia de suspense real en el "cliffhanger" y la sensación de "agotamiento" temático, suponen un pequeño resbalón que aprovecha "Dinastía" que, con su sangriento final de la masacre en Moldavia, se hace con el primer puesto en los "ratings". "Dallas" se encuentra con un factor en contra muy poderoso: la partida de Patrick Duffy, y uno a favor, también muy valioso: el retorno de la "verdadera madre" de los Ewing, Barbara Bel Geddes. Para contraatacar, además, ficharán a otra Chica-Bond, al protagonista de la cancelada "Muñecas de papel", a una supermodelo danesa, a una estrella de Hollywood oriunda de Tejas, a un ganador del Oscar de origen griego, a un héroe de acción de la serie "V", a uno de los amantes más populares de Sue Ellen y a alguien del pasado de Pam que creíamos muerto.

Un nuevo productor y un nuevo equipo de guionistas intentarán dar un nuevo enfoque a la serie, más creíble, concienciado, lujoso y, sin embargo, poco aceptado por la audiencia. "Dinastía" fichará, al año siguiente, al actor más bronceado de la historia, a un inglés con una respetable carrera teatral, y a Linda Evans en un delirante 2º papel, al tiempo que crean una “spin-off” llamada "Los Colby", aún más surrealista; "Falcon Crest" presentará a la rubia más ubicua de los 80, al futuro protagonista de "treinta y tantos", a uno de los actores de la cancelada "La rosa amarilla", y al Joker más divertido con el que Batman se enfrentó jamás. La pandilla de "California" da la bienvenida a una de las actrices menos populares de Hitchcock (Ruth Roman) y, a partir del penúltimo episodio, a una futura "Mujer desesperada".

Una ola de pesimismo y excesiva violencia invade las "supersoaps", conllevando un ligero descenso de audiencia. La última escena de "Falcon Crest" se convierte en la más original y digna (si tenemos en cuenta que la muerte de Bobby es realmente un sueño de Pam), tanto que la misma "Dallas" empleará el atentado con explosivos en la etapa siguiente. Tres féminas son detenidas y procesadas (Alexis, Jenna y Melissa), las empresas familiares parecen escapar de manos de sus dueños: los Ewing están a punto de perder dos tercios de la Ewing Oil, y Angela se ve obligada a compartir su negocio vinícola, no con Chase y Richard, sino ahora con las enigmáticas Anna y Cassandra. En la próxima temporada, les tocará el turno a los Carrington y cederán su imperio a Ben (Christopher Cazenove) y a la misma Alexis. Mientras las parejas jóvenes contraen matrimonio (Lucy, Amanda, Lance...), a las demás las cosas no les van tan bien (J.R., Ray, Alexis, Adam, Chase, Melissa...). Con el personaje de Lorraine, se adapta la tragedia de Mickey en "Dallas", añadiendo además la boda que relaciona a miembros de familias enemigas.

Esta misma etapa presenta una historia similar en la propia serie de los Ewing, al unir a Cliff y Jamie, y darle la vuelta al romance Bobby-Pam. En "Falcon Crest" se recupera el tema de la madre-suplente, esbozado en la 1ª etapa de "Dallas"; tres vengadoras acechan en el último episodio: Katherine, Sammy Jo y Pamela Lynch. Los terroristas revolucionarios de "Dinastía" ponen el toque exótico (y ridículo) a esta etapa, pero aún así sirvieron para atraer a un número más elevado de espectadores.

More popular in Europe than in USA, "Falcon Crest" features a guest star (Gina Lollobrigida, who will portray Angela Channing´s new half-sister. "Dynasty" will become the center of the hurricane due the controversy related with Rock Hudson´s illness, and its bloody cliffhanger with wedding and all. "Knots Landing" introduces Ava Gardner in one of its best seasons, and "Dallas" its brand new Miss Ellie, Donna Reed.

It was back in spring of 1985 when the filming of the Seventh Season of "Dallas" began. Its producers haven´t decided yet who will replace the great Barbara Bel Geddes as Miss Ellie. Her substitute will appear 6 or 7 episodes into the season: the venerable, ever elegant Donna Reed, the main and only movie guest star in the Ewing saga this year. Meanwhile the other competitors will introduce, among others, Ava Gardner, Howard Duff, Alec Baldwin, Anne Archer, Gina Lollobrigida, Rock Hudson, Ali McGraw and Celeste Holm.

- "Dynasty": Spelling surmounts Pamela Sue Martin´s desertion by adding another secret child, Amanda (portrayed by wooden Catherine Oxenberg) who, in the cliffhanger scene, will marry the Prince of then nonexistent Moldavia. A revolutionary, scandalously anti-monarchic massacre ends up with a last sequence filled with (presumed) corpses, including those belonging to Blake, Krystle, Jeff, Ashley (Ali MacGraw), the newlyweds; Claudia, Adam, Steven and his new boyfriend Luke (Billy Campbell), the King of Moldavia (Joel Fabiani, aka Alex Ward on "Dallas") and a few more...Far away from there, an amnesiac Fallon returns with a whole new face and curvy body of Emma Samms...

- "Falcon Crest": In the best cliffhanger of its history, the show finishes this year with yet another violent plot device: a murder attempt against Richard Channing that also might kill Maggie. Unexpectedly, in the last minute, there is a twist that will play out on the long run: the attraction between the "good wife" and the "villlain", who also is her brother-in-law. The responsible for the attempt will turn out to be, quite obviously, Richard´s former secretary and lover, Pamela Lynch (Sarah Douglas), although they created a scenario reminiscent of "Who Shot J.R.?" focused on Richard. At the same time, Angela is victim of a revenge ploy from glamorous but ruthless Cassandra Wilder (Anne Archer), who shows up with her mother Anna (much-missed Celeste Holm). Melissa is sentenced to short-term jailtime for causing Angela´s car accident, and the former´s cousin Robin (Barbara Howard) stays home, pregnant with Cole´s baby. Lance allows the doctors to perform euthanasia on his comatose wife Lorraine (Kate Vernon), and Maggie finds Chase in he loving arms of Connie (Carla Borelli), and decides to end their marriage right there...

- "Knots Landing": Immersed into the lavish, reckless style of "Dallas" y "Dynasty", "Knots Landing" presents a season-ending with poor Val losing her twin babies once again, after being allegedly stillborn though actually given to adoption illegally...This convoluted, endless storyline puts the "Dallas" sister-series on the edge of nonsense, though good characters (and actors) like Greg, Laura, Karen and Mack (Kevin Dobson) always save the show, helped by guest star Ava Gardner...Also noteworthy of her own is amazing Donna Mills, who pushes Lorimar into improve the soap´s look and even promotes Travilla as the new Costume Designer...However, the plot for Joshua (Alec Baldwin) and Cathy (Lisa Hartman) is rather weak...

- "Dallas": The End (or what should have been the end). Bobby´s hit-and-run "murdered" by his psycho ex-sister-in-law Katherine in front of the desperate look of his wife Pam. The couple had planned to get married again and he will leave behind not one widow, but two (Jenna is not aware of his change of mind). To make things worse, Sue Ellen falls off the wagon again pushed by J.R., who wants model Mandy (Deborah Shelton) with him at Southfork. Cliff tries unsuccessfully to get rid of his wife Jamie (Jenilee Harrison) by telling her he had a vasectomy done, after the loss of their shares of Ewing Oil. Lucy leaves the show after re-marrying Mitch, and Donna is reluctant to move back with Ray, although she is expecting his baby. Then there is also an absent-minded lady with a bouffant who pretends to be Miss Ellie...Before dying, Bobby begs his family: "Be good to each other..."

But this dosage of moralizing and, above all, lack of true suspense in the cliffhanger and thematic "exhaustion", mean a little false move the "Dynasty" producers take advantage of, with their bloody Moldavia massacre season-ending that reaches the top at the ratings. "Dallas" has a very powerful factor against itself: Patrick Duffy´s departure, and another factor on its behalf, also quite valuable: the return of the Ewings´ "real mother", Barbara Bel Geddes. To counter-attack, they will feature a Bond-Girl, the leading actor of the cancelled "Paper Dolls", a Danish top model, a Texas-born Hollywood star, an Oscar winner with Greek ancestors, an action hero from the hit show "V", one of Sue Ellen´s most popular lovers, and someone from Pam´s past that is presumably dead.

A new producing-writing team will try to give a new focus to the show, more believable, socially conscious, opulent, and, however, hardly accepted by audiences. The next year, "Dynasty" will introduce the most tanned actor in history, an English thespian with a respetable stage career onstage, and Linda Evans herself in an outrageous second role, as well as their spin-off, entitled "The Colbys", even more surrealistic; "Falcon Crest" will feature the most ubiquitous blonde of the 80´s, the future leading man of "thirtysomething"; one of the stars of the cancelled "The Yellow Rose", and the funniest Joker Batman ever fought. The "Knots Landing" gang welcome one of the least popular Hitchcock stars, and, from the penultimate episode on, a future "Desperate Housewife".

A wave of pessimism and over-the-top violence invades the supersoaps and implies a slight audience decrease. The last scene of "Falcon Crest" stands out as the most original and remarkable one (if we take into account that Bobby´s death is actually a dream of Pam´s), up to the point that "Dallas" itself will use the bombing plot device the next season. Three women are arrested and trialed (Alexis, Jenna, and Melissa), the family companies seem to slip away from their owners´ hands: the Ewings almost lose two thirds of Ewing Oil, and Angela is obliged to share her wine-making business, not with Chase and Richard, but now with enigmatic duo Anna and Cassandra. The next season, it will be the Carringtons´ turn, and they will lose their empire to Ben (Christopher Cazenove) and Alexis. While the younger couples tie the knot (Lucy, Amanda, Lance...), the others aren´t doing that well (J.R., Ray, Alexis, Adam, Chase, Melissa...). The Lorraine character is used to rehash Mickey´s tragedy from "Dallas", as well as the coupling that relates members of rival families.

Also, this season presents a similar storyline in the Ewing show with Cliff and Jamie´s wedding, a sort of Bobby-Pam love story in reverse. "Falcon Crest" brings back the surrogate mother plot, hinted in a Season-One episode of "Dallas"; three female avengers await in the cliffhangers: Katherine, Sammy Jo and Pamela Lynch. "Dynasty"´s revolutionary terrorists give the exotic (and highly ridiculous) to that year, but even so, they were useful to climb up the ratings.

- La "Boda roja" de "Dinastía" situó a la serie en 2º lugar esa semana, pero la media de la temporada la llevó al primer lugar (entre 96 programas), gracias a tres décimas de punto. El "cliffhanger" atrajo a 25.9 millones y tuvo un 39% de "share". Clasificación general: 25.0 millones y 37%.

- El Final de "Dallas" con la partida (temporal) de Patrick Duffy reunió a 27.5 millones de espectadores y obtuvo un "share" del 46%, que lo situó como el primer programa más visto de la semana una vez más. En el ránking general de la temporada, se colocó en 2º lugar, ya que las cifras antes mencionadas quedaron fuera del cómputo de Nielsen por una cuestión de fechas. Clasificación general: 24.7 y 39%, respectivamente.

- "California" se clasificó en el índice anual en 9º lugar, con 20.0 millones y 33%.

- "Falcon Crest" ocupó en el ránking de la temporada el 10º lugar, con 16.4 y 30%.

- "Dynasty"´s "Red wedding" put the show in 2nd place of that week, but the seasonal average lead it to the top (among 96 programs), thanks to 3 tenths of a point. The cliffhanger attracted 25.9 millions and had a 39% share. Overall ranking: 25.0 rating and 37% share.

El deseo de probar suerte en otros papeles ya había provocado la partida de Pamela Sue Martin y Al Corley en "Dinastía", y ahora el fallecimiento de Bobby Ewing posibilitaba la partida de Patrick Duffy. Este 8º año para "Dallas" supuso un nuevo comienzo que sin embargo acabó frustrándose. Mientras, "Dinastía" lanzaba su propia "spin-off" con "Los Colby" y "Falcon Crest" contrataba a actores de otras series, como Morgan Fairchild.

Corría la primavera de 1986. El Imperio Ewing quema sus últimos cartuchos frente a los ataques no coordinados de los Serialoides...a los que se acaba de sumar uno nuevo y peor que ninguno: "Los Colby"...

- "Dinastía": Conscientes de que hay que aprovechar las décimas de punto a su favor que la serie ha conseguido en la anterior temporada, Spelling lanza desde "Dinastía" una "spinoff", "Los Colby", al tiempo que exprime al máximo a sus gallinas de los huevos de oro, en especial a Joan Collins y a Linda Evans, que este año también interpreta a la vulgar doble de Krystle, Rita, quien, en complicidad con un siniestro director de cine (George Hamilton) y la misma Sammy Jo, suplanta a la señora Carrington. El cliffhanger presenta a Blake, sin mansión y arruinado por Alexis, intentando estrangular a su ex mujer, delante de Krystle y del hermano reaparecido de Blake, Ben. Paralelamente a esto, una irrecuperable Claudia provoca, accidentalmente, un incendio en el hotel La Mirada, donde corren el riesgo de morir todos los demás personajes. La inmutable Amanda y la insalvable Sammy Jo se pelean en la piscina por el amor de Clay Fallmont (Ted McGinley). Mientras, Dominique rompe su compromiso con Garret (Ken Howard), el padre natural de su hija, al saber que le mintió diciendo que estaba casado, y Caress (Kate O´Mara), la hermana de Alexis, envía un S.O.S. desde una cárcel de Sudamérica...Evidentemente, los guionistas ya no se privan de nada...

- "Falcon Crest": Nada menos que un terremoto "anima" el valle de Tuscany en este 5º final de etapa. A causa de él pueden haber perecido Angela, sus hijas Julia y Emma (Margaret Ladd), el marido culturista de ésta, Dwayne (Daniel Greene); Lance, Melissa, Eric (John Callahan), hijastro de Angela; Richard y su nueva esposa Terry (Laura Johnson). Mientras esto ocurre, en San Francisco, Chase sufre una operación a vida o muerte tras haber recibido varios disparos, y Maggie teme, además, que su secuestrador Jeff (Edward Albert) vuelva a por ella. Jordan (Morgan Fairchild) y su novio Greg (Simon MacCorkindale) son amenazados por el psicópata en cuestión, y Richard conoce al hijo que la difunta Cassandra ha tenido con él. El terremoto es otra oportunidad de hacer borrón y cuenta nueva, y desembarazarse de personajes molestos...Aún así, la trama funciona, aunque su puesta en escena es algo pobre...

- "Los Colby": A pesar del lujo vacío y las estrellas famosas (Barbara Stanwyck, Charlton Heston, Ricardo Montalbán y Katharine Ross), la serie sólo durará un año más. En este su primer cliffhanger, Jason es acusado por su esposa Sable (Stephanie Beacham) de intento de asesinato, Fallon cree estar embarazada de su ex amante Miles (Maxwell Caulfield) y Monica (Tracy Scoggins) se estrella con su avioneta tras encontrar a su novio en la cama con otra...Lo único notable es el tema musical de Bill Conti y los esfuerzos que hace Heston para que no se le caiga el peluquín, literalmente. La Stanwyck siempre parece que "pasa por allí"...

- "California": En pleno proceso de regeneración (algo habitual en la serie que no se repetía en sus rivales), los guionistas acababan este 7º año con el misterioso secuestro de Karen. Abby y Gary, aún no divorciados, prosiguen sus tumultuosas relaciones con el presunto hermanastro de Greg, Peter (Hunt Block) y con Jill (Teri Austin), respectivamente, mientras Val reacciona violentamente al saber que su marido Ben (Doug Sheehan) ha tenido una aventura con Cathy. Asimismo hace su entrada triunfal un buen personaje, Paige (Nicollette Sheridan), hija secreta de Mack y su primer amor Anne (la ex cantante Michelle Phillips), y Olivia (Tonya Crowe), la hija adolescente de Abby, intenta superar su adicción a las drogas...

- "Dallas": Milagrosamente, Bobby aparece en la ducha de Pam, poco después de casarse con Mark. ¿Ha resucitado, es un hermano gemelo, un doble o...un sueño? Recuperada Bel Geddes como Ellie, la serie corona su época de esplendor con un lujoso episodio que incluye boda, dos atentados con bomba (uno de ellos, en la Ewing Oil), desfile de modelos con la perversa Angelica (Barbara Carrera), sentimentalismo y concienciación social con la adopción del discapacitado Tony (Solomon Smaniatto) por los Krebbs, y el misterio de que Bobby podría no ser el único "resucitado": un anciano vaquero llamado Ben Stivers (Steve Forrest) podría ser Jock Ewing...Consigna: reunir a la familia Ewing, cueste lo que cueste.

Insólita característica general: una total ausencia de paralelismos entre los cliffhangers y, a la vez, una cierta ausencia de respeto hacia el público: "Dallas" es un sueño de Pam que comprende 31 episodios; "Dinastía", una payasada que sobrepasa el límite de lo mínimamente creíble con la trama de la doble de Krystle; finalmente, "Falcon Crest" ofrece un refrito de temas extraídos de series y películas catastrofistas. En el apartado de las bodas, Mark y Pam celebran una onírica ceremonia; en cambio, se destruyen los idilios respectivos de Melissa y Dominique. El hilo argumental de esta última y Garret recuerda la relación Bobby-Jenna, con Charlie incluida, mientras que el recurso empleado para separar a la anterior pareja, una firma obtenida de form ilegítima, remite poderosamente al divorcio de Pam y Bobby.

Los guionistas planean secuestros (casualmente paralelos) de las féminas bondadosas (Pam, Krystle, Maggie...). Continuando con sus ingenuas adaptaciones, en "Falcon Crest" aparece también la hija del mayordomo y Chase es víctima de un atentado ideado para justificar la (pospuesta) marcha de Foxworth. Este fue el año que más personajes estuvieron al borde de la muerte: en "Dallas", J.R., Sue Ellen y Jamie; en "Dinastía", Alexis, Claudia, Amanda y muchos otros en un incendio; y en "Falcon Crest", también un gran número de personajes, con las excepciones de Peter (Cesar Romero), Maggie y alguno más.

El 6º año de la guerra de los seriales acaba, por tanto con un balance desolador. Pero "Dallas" recupera su primer puesto entre los seriales con más audiencia, a costa de perder la credibilidad en el futuro...La vida es sueño y los sueños, sueños son, pero el mundo de los seriales se ha alejado definitivamente del mundo real y se acercan malos tiempos para todos, excepto para las hermanas menores: "California" y "Falcon Crest", las cuales, curiosamente, tardarán aún cierto tiempo en entrar en crisis...La próxima temporada se centrará más en las tramas y personajes principales que en las estrellas o el lujo de pacotilla: aún así, "Falcon Crest" presentará a la musa de Hitchcock en "Vértigo", como Reina de las "Guest Stars" de la temporada.

The ambition of playing other roles had already made Pamela Sue Martin and Al Corley quit "Dynasty", and now Bobby Ewing´s death made possible Patrick Duffy´s departure. This Eighth Season of "Dallas" was a sort of new beginning that however ended wrongly. In the meantime, "Dynasty" span off "The Colbys", and "Falcon Crest" hired stars from other shows, such as Morgan Fairchild.

It was back in spring of 1986. The Ewing Empire shoot their last bolt facing the Soap-eroids´ uncoordinated attacks...now with another one worse than than the rest: "The Colbys"...

- "Dynasty": Aware that he has to use his show´s tenths of a point on his behalf, Spelling launches from "Dynasty" a spinoff, The Colbys, while he makes the most out of his golden egg gooses, especially Joan Collins and Linda Evans, who this year is also playing Krystle´s common dead ringer, Rita, who, in cahoots with a sinister movie director (George Hamilton) and Sammy herself, impersonates Mrs. Carrington. The cliffhanger features Blake, whose manor and fortune is now in Alexis´s hands, trying to strangle his ex-wife, in front of Krystle and his prodigal brother Ben. At the same time, an irrecoverable Claudia starts a fire accidentally at La Mirage hotel, where all the other characters are in danger of dying. Posh Amanda and hopeless Sammy Jo get entangled into a catfight in the pool for the love of Clay Fallmont (Ted McGinley). Meanwhile Dominique breaks off her engagement to Garret (Ken Howard), her daughter´s natural father, when she learns he lied to her about being married, and Alexis´s sister Caress (Kate O´Mara), sends an S.O.S. from a jailhouse in South America. Obviously, the writers have no reservations about anything at all...

- "Falcon Crest": Nothing better than an earthquake to "cheer up" the Tuscany Valley in this Season Finale. It may have caused the deaths of Angela, her daughters Julia and Emma (Margaret Ladd), the latter´s bodybuilder husband Dwayne (Daniel Greene); Lance, Melissa, Angela´s stepson Eric (John Callahan), Richard and his new wife Terry (Laura Johnson). Meanwhile, up in San Francisco, Chase undergoes a life-or-death operation after being shot several times, and Maggie also fears for her own life, because her kidnapper Jeff (Edward Albert) still is at large. Jordan (Morgan Fairchild) and her boyfriend Greg (Simon MacCorkindale) are threatened at gunpoint by said psycho, as Richard meets his and late Cassandra´s baby. The earthquake is another opportunity to start from scratch and getting rid of annoying characters ...Even so, the plot works out for a cliffhanger, though the staging is somewhat poor...

- "The Colbys": Despite its lavish look and its famous stars (Barbara Stanwyck, Charlton Heston, Ricardo Montalbán and Katharine Ross), the show will last another year only. In its first season-ender, Jason is accused by his wife Sable (Stephanie Beacham) of attempted murder, Fallon thinks she is pregnant with her ex-lover Miles´s (Maxwell Caulfield) baby, while Monica (Tracy Scoggins) can´t avoid her plane´s crash after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman...The only remarkable thing is Bill Conti´s Main Theme and Mr. Heston´s efforts to keep his toupee on...La Stanwyck always seems to be "around the neighborhood", so to say...

- "Knots Landing": In full re-tooling mode (something usual in this soap but not in its competitors), the writers wrapped-up their seventh season with Karen´s mysterious kidnap. Abby and Gary, not yet divorced, pursue their stormy affairs with Greg´s presumed stepbrother Peter (Hunt Block), and with Jill (Teri Austin), respectively, while Val reacts violently when she guesses that her husband Ben (Doug Sheehan) is having a fling with Cathy. Also, we see the glamorous entrance of a good character, Paige (Nicollette Sheridan), Mack´s secret daughter with his first love Anne (former singer Michelle Phillips), and Olivia (Tonya Crowe), Abby´s own teenage daughter, tries to overcome her drug addiction...

- "Dallas": Miraculously, Bobby shows up at Pam´s shower, apparently after she marries Mark. Is Bobby back from the dead, is he a twin, a double or...is it all a dream? Restored Bel Geddes as Miss Ellie, the soap tops its splendor era with a luxurious episode including a wedding, two bombings (one of them inside the Ewing Oil offices), a fashion catwalk by wicked Angelica (Barbara Carrera), sentimentality, and also social awareness thru the adoption of the disabled boy Tony (Solomon Smaniatto) by the Krebbses, and the mystery regarding the fact that Bobby might not be the only "resurrected one": an old cowboy called Ben Stivers (Steve Forrest) is hinted to be Jock Ewing...Assignment: reunite the Ewing family, no matter what.

Unusual overall coincidence: no parallels at all between the cliffhangers and, altogether, a certain lack of respect towards the audiences: "Dallas" will turn out to be a 31-episode dream of Pam´s; "Dynasty", an absurdity that surpasses the believable with Krystle´s doppelganger; finally "Falcon Crest" rehashes plots out of disaster movies and series. About the weddings, Mark and Pam celebrate a "dreamy" ceremony; however, the writers put an end to the respective romances of Melissa and Dominique. The latter´s storyline with Garret is reminiscent of the Bobby-Jenna relationship, Charlie and all, while the plot device used to make Melissa and Eric apart, a signature obtained illegitimally, reminds the Pam-Bobby powerfully.

There are (randomly parallel) kidnaps of the goody-goodies (Pam, Krystle, Maggie...). "Falcon Crest" keeps adapting other soaps´ plots naively by writing in the butler´daughter, and Chase´s shooting is designed to justify Foxworth´s (postponed) departure. This is the season with most characters in danger: on "Dallas", J.R., Sue Ellen and Jamie; on "Dynasty", Alexis, Claudia, Amanda and many others at the hotel fire; and on "Falcon Crest", also a big number of characters, with the exceptions of Peter (Cesar Romero), Maggie and maybe someone else.

Therefore, the sixth year of the Soap Wars ends up with a devastating balance. But "Dallas" is back at the top of the ratings, in expense of losing its credibility in the future...Life is a dream, and dreams are just dreams, but the supersoaps´ world has gone too far from real world for good, and bad times are coming for all of them, except for Lorimar´s sister series: "Knots Landing" and "Falcon Crest", which, funnily enough, will take some time before suffering their own crisis...The next season will be more focused on the storylines and the core cast rather than the guest stars or the luxury: even so, "Falcon Crest" will introduce Hitchcock´s muse in "Vertigo" as the most enjoyable Guest Star of that TV year.

EPISODE VII: CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND

"Dinastía" vuelve a reunir a Alexis y Blake con el recurso de la amnesia de él, aunque ni siquiera convertir la temporada anterior en un sueño impide que "Dallas" recupere los primeros puestos. "Falcon Crest" da la bienvenida a un nuevo productor aficionado a las grandes estrellas, y la primera es Kim Novak. "Los Colby" termina su andadura con otro monumento a lo absurdo: Fallon es secuestrada por un OVNI en la escena final.

Corría la primavera de 1987. Las luchas por la audiencia llegan al espacio exterior y atraen a nuevos seres. Esta vez, son unos extraterrestres blanquecinos que provocan el final anunciado de "Los Colby" al abducir a su principal protagonista, Fallon. El público y la crítica no da crédito a sus ojos...como tampoco lo dan cuando la muerte de Bobby se convierte, junto con los 31 episodios siguientes, en una larga pesadilla de Pam.

- "Dinastía": Los productores de la serie siguen la misma política que "Dallas", curiosamente: reducir el elenco a la familia cercana y no contratar a estrellas famosas. El final de etapa presenta, por un lado, el accidente de Alexis al caer su coche a un río donde se supone va a perecer. Por otro lado, regresa Matthew (Bo Hopkins), tras su deserción al final de la 1ª temporada, ahora acompañado de un grupo de nativos centroamericanos vestidos de etiqueta, y con la pretensión de llevarse a Krystle con él...Poco antes, se casan Adam y Dana (Leann Hunley), y Buck Fallmont (Richard Anderson) hace creer a su hijo Clay y a Leslie (Terri Garber) que pueden ser hermanos...incestuosos.

- "Falcon Crest": La demente Melissa cae en la Bahía de San Francisco en su coche, con el pequeño Kevin (el bebé de Maggie y su ya ex marido Chase) y Dan Fixx (Brett Cullen) en su interior...Richard y Chase se lanzan al agua para intentar rescatarles...pero sólo sacan al niño y vuelven a sumergirse. Mientras esto ocurre, Angela descubre por Meredith (Jane Badler) y Peter que Richard es en realidad hijo suyo, no de Jacqueline (¡¡!!), Emma intenta suicidarse tirándose desde la azotea y Kit (Kim Novak) huye en la avioneta de Peter con éste y Tony (John Saxon), tras confesar que fue ella quien provocó la muerte de su ex amante, el mafioso Saunders (Robert Stack). Un enrevesado cóctel de estrellas y melodrama que funcionó de milagro, en parte gracias al renovado "look" y al ritmo frenético...

- "Los Colby": La serie-hermana de "Dinastía" cierra su 2ª y última etapa con una trama que hizo historia en el mundo de los seriales: la abducción de Fallon por un OVNI (sic). La actriz aterrizará en la siguiente etapa de "Dinastía", otra vez amnésica en su rol de esposa de Jeff. Al mismo tiempo, el hermano de Jason, Phillip (Michael Parks) rapta a Francesca (Katharine Ross) y su coche se estrella. Bliss (Claire Yarlett) quiere casarse con un bailarín ruso y Channing (Kim Morgan Greene) comunica a Miles que va a abortar de su hijo. Pero todo cambió después del Encuentro en la 3ª fase de Fallon...

- "California": Ignorando el absurdo recurso del sueño, los Ewing de la Costa Oeste no resucitan a Bobby y prosiguen su vida “normal”, con Abby enterrando a su ex amante Peter bajo los cimientos de un parque infantil...que se va a reconstruir. Se plantea también la cuestión: ¿Quién mató a Peter? Entre los sospechosos están Paige, Greg, Abby y su hija Olivia. Mientras, Val vuelve a quedarse sin marido cuando Ben la abandona misteriosamente...Los guionistas apuestan fuerte tras el resbalón de Katzman y sus hombres al recuperar a Bobby de forma tan chapucera.

- "Dallas": Tras saber que puede ser madre, Pam se estrella, accidentalmente, contra un camión-cisterna de butano...¿Morirá, quedará desfigurada o simplemente desaparecerá, como Fallon? Siguiendo los pasos de Robert Foxworth, que dejó "Falcon Crest" para siempre, Victoria Principal, harta de su personaje, decide no renovar su contrato y rechazar cualquier contraoferta. Así, se libra de su papel, que en la serie se recuperará fugazmente con la cara de Margaret Michaels. En ese mismo final de etapa, J.R. pierde la Ewing Oil a manos de Jeremy (William Smithers), tras intentar otro ataque terrorista en Oriente Medio a través del loco mercenario B.D. Calhoun (Hunter von Leer). Sue Ellen, convertida casi en otro personaje por exigencias de la actriz, se venga de Mandy y rompe su contrato. Ellie descubre que Clayton tuvo años antes un ataque cardiaco, Jenna da a luz al hijo ilegítimo de Bobby, Lucas, y Ray se compromete a formar una familia con ella.

La crisis es evidente, por lo menos en las "supersoaps" más importantes: la reducción de plantilla afecta a "Dallas" (adiós a Pam, Donna, Jack, Jamie y Mandy...), "Dinastía" (Dominique y Amanda), "Falcon Crest" (Chase, Cole, Peter, Kit y Tony) y "California" (Peter, Ben, y, a principios de la siguiente temporada, también Lilimae, interpretada por la legendaria Julie Harris, y Laura, ambas pérdidas muy sentidas por los fans...) En la etapa siguiente, "Dallas" intentará prolongar al máximo la duda sobre el posible regreso de Principal, mientras introduce rápidamente nuevas y desconocidas actrices. De entre los fichajes más populares, destacarán una joven lanzada en los 60 por un precedente de las "supersoaps", "Peyton Place", otro recién salido de la breve "Grandes almacenes", un tercero que había coprotagonizado "Escándalo en la Marina", e, incluso, al final de la temporada, recuperará a la mismísima Lucy.

Por lo que respecta a las rivales, "California" seguirá apostando por el lujo y los famosos, con el protagonista de "Cabaret", con un secundario ganador del Oscar, y con uno de los miembros del grupo The Mamas & the Papas. En la temporada 1987-88, "Falcon Crest" aumentará el número de estrellas invitadas hasta relegar a los principales a un 2º plano: desfilarán por la serie ese año una francesa nominada al Oscar por partida doble, la 1ª Chica-Bond de la historia, una antigua supermodelo que había protagonizado junto a Richard Gere "American Gigolo", y otro actor dos veces propuesto al premio de la Academia...Pero el interés de la audiencia va en descenso y el fin de una época se acerca, a medida que pasa la década de los 80 y los gustos del público van evolucionando...

"Dynasty" reunites Alexis and Blake using the cliché of his amnesia, although not even turning the previous season into a dream stops "Dallas" from going back to the top. "Falcon Crest" welcomes a new producer keen on big stars, and the first of them is Kim Novak. "The Colbys" ends its course with another monument to nonsense: Fallon is kidnapped by a UFO in the final scene.

It was back in spring of 1987. The fight for audiences reach the outer space and attract new forms of life. This time it´s some pale aliens who cause the announced end of "The Colbys" when they abduct its main character Fallon. Public and crItics can´t believe their eyes...as they can't believe either that Bobby´s death (and the following 31 episodes) have become a long nightmare of Pam's.

- "Dynasty": The show´s producers apply the same policy than "Dallas", funnily enough: cut down the cast to the familia members and not hire famous stars. The Season Finale features Alexis´s car falling into a river where she will supposedly get drown. Besides, Matthew (Bo Hopkins) returns after his sudden departure at the end of Season 1, now in the company of a group of Central American natives dressed in tuxedos, intending to take Krystle away...Prior to that, Adam marry Dana (Leann Hunley), while Buck Fallmont (Richard Anderson) makes his son Clay and Leslie (Terri Garber) believe they might be...incestuous siblings.

- "Falcon Crest": Deranged Melissa´s car falls into San Francisco Bay (too) with Baby Kevin (the son of Maggie and her already ex-hub Chase) and Dan Fixx (Brett Cullen) inside the car...Richard and Chase jump into the waters to try to rescue them...but they can only save the baby and dive in again. Meanwhile, Angela finds out thanks to Meredith (Jane Badler) and Peter that Richard actually is her own son, not Jacqueline´s (¡¡!!). Emma tries to commit suicide by jumping off the roof, and Kit (Kim Novak) escapes in Peter's plane with him and Tony (John Saxon) after confessing she was the one who murdered her ex-lover, mob Saunders (Robert Stack). A shaken cocktail of stars and melodrama that worked out incredibly, partly because of its new look and its frantic pacing...

- "The Colbys": The "Dinasty"´s spinoff closes its second and last year with a turn of events that made history in Soap Land: Fallon's abduction by a UFO (sic). The actress will land in the next season of "Dinasty", amnesiac again in her role of Jeff´s wife. At the same time, Jason´s brother Phillip (Michael Parks) kidnaps Francesca (Katharine Ross) and his car crashes. Bliss (Claire Yarlett) wants to marry a Russian dancer, and Channing (Kim Morgan Greene) tells Miles she is going to abort his child. But everything changed after Fallon´s Close Encounter of the Third Kind...

- "Knots Landing": Ignoring the absurd dream solution, the Ewings of the West Coast do not resurrect Bobby and continue living their "normal" lives, with Abby burying her ex-lover Peter under the foundation of a playground...which needs to be rebuilt. There is also the big question: Who killed Peter? Among the suspects are Paige, Greg, Abby and her daughter Olivia. Val loses another husband when Ben leaves mysteriously...The writers bet high after Katzman's false step at bringing Bobby back in such a lame fashion.

- "Dallas": After learning she can carry a baby full term, Pam´s car crashes into a butane tanker accidentally...Will she get desfigured or simply vanish, just like Fallon? Following the steps of Robert Foxworth, who left "Falcon Crest" forever, Victoria Principal, tired of her character, decides not to renew her contract and decline any counteroffer, thus getting rid of her role, which the show will briefly bring back with Margaret Michaels´ face. In that same cliffhanger episode, J.R. loses Ewing Oil to Jeremy (William Smithers), after trying another terrorist coup at Middle East through mad mercenary B.D. Calhoun (Hunter von Leer). Sue Ellen, who has almost become a different character by the actress´ demands, gets even with Mandy and breaks her deal with her. Miss Ellie finds out that Clayton had a heart attack years ago, Jenna gives birth to Bobby´s illegitimate son, Lucas, and Ray commits himself to form a family with her.

The crisis is obvious, at least in the major supersoaps: the cast cuts affect "Dallas" (bye-bye Pam, Donna, Jack, Jamie and Mandy...), and "Dynasty" (Dominique and Amanda), "Falcon Crest" (Chase, Cole, Peter, Kit and Tony), as well as "Knots Landing" (Peter, Ben, and in early Season 9, also Lilimae, played by legendary Julie Harris, and Laura, both losses very heartfelt by the fans...). The next year, "Dallas" will try to keep the suspense about Principal´s unlikely return, and will quickly introduce unknown young actresses. Among the most popular guest stars, there will be a young woman launched in the 60´s by a precedent of the supersoaps, "Peyton Place", another actor who comes from the short-lived "Berrenger´s", a third one who had co-starred in "Emerald Point, N.A.S.", and, at the end of the season, the show will bring back the one and only Lucy.

About the others, "Knots Landing" will keep betting on luxury and famous stars, with the leading man from "Cabaret", with an Oscar winner as Best Supporting Actor, and with one of the female members of the band The Mamas & the Papas. In the 1987-88 Season,"Falcon Crest" will increase the number of guest stars until pushing into the background the main cast: that year the series will feature a French actress with two Oscar nominations, the first Bond-Girl in history, a former supermodel who had co-starred with Richard Gere in "American Gigolo", and another two-time Academy award nominee...But audiences are losing their interest and the end of an era is coming, as the 80´s decade passes by and the people´s likes evolve...

Antes de recalar de nuevo en el universo dinástico con la infame "Reunión", Maxwell Caulfield se centró en el teatro, con ocasionales apariciones en films de serie Z. Ricardo Montalbán, desaparecido en 2009, volvió a la TV ocasionalmente, sobre todo en comedias, y se especializó en doblaje de dibujos animados. Katharine Ross prácticamente se retiró de la interpretación, y Claire Yarlett no ha tenido más suerte que sus compañeros..

Before landing in the dynastic universe again with the infamous "Reunion", Maxwell Caulfield focused on the theater work, with occasional appearances in Z-movies. Ricardo Montalbán, who passed away in 2009, returned to TV occasionally, especially in comedies, and specialized in cartoon voicing. Katharine Ross almost retired from acting, and Claire Yarlett wasn´t luckier than her co-stars.

Mientras un cadáver inoportuno altera la vida de Abby y su familia en "California", Pamela simplemente desaparece de "Dallas". En "Dinastía", regresa fugazmente Matthew dispuesto a llevarse a Krystle y se "rescata" a Jeff y Fallon. Por "Falcon Crest" continúan pasando estrellas como Leslie Caron, Ursula Andress o Rod Taylor, ahora que el personaje de Robert Foxworth, Chase, ha fallecido ahogado...¿o no?

Corría la primavera de 1988. Una desbandada sacude las productoras de series televisivas con Lorimar a la cabeza: sus actores amenazan con huir del planeta si sus peticiones no son atendidas. Y si lo son, también.

- "Dinastía" Saturados de finales en exceso sensacionalistas, los productores acaban esta temporada con un monólogo de Blake en el que se da a entender que su mujer Krystle ha desaparecido víctima de los primeros síntomas de una enfermedad mortal. Al mismo tiempo, Alexis presencia una pelea entre sus dos ex maridos, Dex (Michael Nader) y Sean (James Healey). Se oye un disparo y ella pestañea...Mientras esto ocurre, y después de reconciliarse con Jeff, Fallon se ve obligada a esconderse cuando éste recibe la visita de Sammy Jo, que acepta casarse con él...Aquella temporada, huyen de casa Carrington Steven ("forever gay"), Krystle, Leslie y Dana, ésta última en el episodio que inicia el siguiente año televisivo...

- "Falcon Crest": Angela visita en un monasterio a alguien supuestamente muerto, que puede ser tanto Chase como Richard. Maggie parece haberse quedado otra vez viuda con dos hijos a su cargo, a demás de la mutante Vickie (Dana Sparks). Melissa arrebata "Falcon Crest" a Angela en los tribunales, enfrentándose incluso a su gran amor Lance y a su tío Frank (Rod Taylor). Eric Stavros es programado para matar a Richard, y Angela abandona su hogar jurando venganza por enésima vez. Por cierto,¿cuántos testamentos tenía Chase...? Más de lo mismo y ahora se ve fatal.

- "California": Una reciclada Jill obliga a su rival Valene a tomar somníferos y alcohol para recuperar a Gary, que no está por el tema...Paige, Michael (Pat Petersen) y el novio de ella, Johnny (Peter Reckell) son retenidos en México por el socio mafioso de Karen y Abby en Lotus Point. Mientras, Mack se enfrenta a la tentación al tener que pasar la noche en un motel con la guardabosques Paula (Melinda Culea)...Demencia, humor y suspense a tope en este buen final de "California".

- "Dallas": ¿Sue Ellen ha matado a J.R.? Tras caer por un balcón su amante Nicholas Pearce (Jack Scalia) durante una pelea con J.R., la futura ex de éste le dispara tres veces, dejándolo presuntamente muerto, y luego llama a la policía para confesar...Al mismo tiempo, Cliff informa a Bobby, siempre en la ducha, de que Pam ha sido vista lejos de allí usando el apellido de su tía. Ray y Jenna deciden olvidar la aventura del primero con la psicópata Connie (Michele Scarabelli) y mudarse a Europa. Lucy regresa al rancho huyendo de una crisis con Mitch y se fija en el menos idóneo, como siempre: Casey (Andrew Stevens). En este su 10º final de etapa, "Dallas" repite cantidad de tramas, desde la lucha por la custodia de John Ross (Omri Katz) hasta la muerte estilo Kristin o el posible retorno de Pam, como en su día se hizo con Bobby: ¿Volverá con ella Victoria Principal? La prensa amarilla incluso publica el rumor de que Pam reaparecerá también en la ducha...

La huida de los actores prosigue esta vez con las de Priscilla Presley en "Dallas", Linda Evans y Jack Coleman en "Dinastía", Dana Sparks y John Callahan (¿y David Selby...?) en "Falcon Crest" y, en "California", tal vez la de Joan Van Ark. Alicientes para la siguiente temporada: en "Dallas", varios episodios rodados en Austria y Rusia. En "Dinastía", dosificación de Alexis y Krystle, pero recuperación de dos actrices de "Los Colby", Tracy Scoggins y Stephanie Beacham. En "California", última temporada de Donna Mills y Teri Austin, y, en "Falcon Crest", entrada de una familia hispana (liderada por una insulsa actriz que, años después, coprotagonizará el serial diario "Days of Our Lives") y una italiana, la de Frank, ambas sustituyendo a la insustituible Ana-Alicia; destaca como invitada una actriz catalana que pone una pica en Tuscany...

While a troubled corpse changes the lives of Abby and her family on "Knots Landing", Pamela just vanishes on "Dallas". "Dynasty" brings back Bo Hopkins (Matthew) for a brief stint, determined to take Krystle away, and also John James and Emma Samms. "Falcon Crest" presents stars like Leslie Caron, Ursula Andress or Rod Taylor, now that Robert Foxworth´s character Chase, has got drown...or hasn´t he?

It was back in spring of 1988. An actors´ stampede shakes up the producing companies of TV supersoaps, with Lorimar as the lead: its stars threaten with escaping from the planet if their demands are not met. Or if they are, too.

- "Dinastía" Sick of over-the-top cliffhangers, the producers finish their eighth season with a monologue of Blake´s hinting that his wife Krystle is missing due to the early symptoms of a deadly disease. At the same time, Alexis witness a fistfight between her two ex-husbands Dex (Michael Nader) and Sean (James Healey). One shot is heard and she blinks...While this happens, Fallon reconciles with Jeff, but has to hide away when he receives the visit of Sammy Jo, accepting his marriage proposall...That season, the runaways from the Carrington´s are "forever gay" Steven, Krystle, Leslie and Dana, the latter in the Season Premiere of the next year.

- "Falcon Crest": In a monastery, Angela visits somebody presumably dead who might be either Chase as Richard. Maggie seems to have become a widow with two children again, aside from mutant Vickie (Dana Sparks). Melissa steals "Falcon Crest" away from Angela in the Court, and even falls out with her lover Lance and her Uncle Frank (Rod Taylor). Eric Stavros is programmed to kill Richard, and Angela leaves her home vowing revenge by umpteenth time. By the way, how many wills did Chase have...? More run-of-the-mill stuff, and now it looks really awful.

- "Knots Landing": Recycled as a psycho-killer, Jill makes her rival Valene take sleeping pills and alcohol so she can get a reluctant Gary back...Paige, Michael (Pat Petersen) and her boyfriend, Johnny (Peter Reckell) are held hostage in Mexico by the mob associated with Karen and Abby in Lotus Point. Meanwhile, Mack must resist the tempt of spending the night in the same motel room with ranger Paula (Melinda Culea)...Craziness, humor and plenty of thrills in this great "Knots Landing" cliffhanger.

- "Dallas": Has Sue Ellen shot J.R. to death? After her lover Nicholas Pearce (Jack Scalia) falls down off the balcony during a fight with J.R., his future ex-wife shoots him three times and kills him, supposedly, and then she calls the police and confesses her crime...At the same time, Cliff tells Bobby, who is in the shower as usual, that Pam has been seen far from there using her aunt´s last name. Ray and Jenna decide to leave behind his affair with psycho Connie (Michele Scarabelli) and move to Europa. Lucy returns to the ranch escaping from a marriage crisis with Mitch and keeps her eyes on the least convenient guy, as usual (too): Casey (Andrew Stevens). In its 10th Season Finale, "Dallas" rehashes a lot of plots, from the fight for the custody of John Ross (Omri Katz) to the accidental death Kristin-style, to Pam´s possible comeback, as happened with Bobby: Will Victoria Principal also come back? Tabloids even publish the rumor that Pam will re-appear in the shower too...

The actors´ escape now continued with Priscilla Presley´s from "Dallas", Linda Evans´ and Jack Coleman´s from "Dynasty", Dana Sparks´ and John Callahan´s (and maybe David Selby´s...?) from "Falcon Crest" and, probably, Joan Van Ark´s from "Knots Landing". Incentives for the next season: on "Dallas", a multi-episode storyline filmed on location in Austria and Rusia. On "Dynasty", dosage of Alexis and Krystle, but return of two stars from "The Colbys", Tracy Scoggins and Stephanie Beacham. On "Knots", the last season for Donna Mills and Teri Austin, and, on "Falcon Crest", enter a Latino family (lead by a dull actress who will star in daytime soap "Days of Our Lives" years later) and an Italian one, Frank´s, both of them replacing the irreplaceable Ana-Alicia; one of the guest stars is an outstanding Catalan actress who pulled off a coup in Tuscany...
