(Continúa el reparto protagonista de la etapa anterior, excepto PRISCILLA PRESLEY y STEVE KANALY, quien intervendrá en cinco episodios. CHARLENE TILTON vuelve a la cabecera de la serie y se añade a ella también SHEREE J. WILSON. Ésta será la última temporada para LINDA GRAY. De los actores invitados, sólo el nuevo fichaje GEORGE KENNEDY aparece en los 26 episodios. Los demás actores invitados son ANDREW STEVENS, CATHY PODEWELL (CALLY HARPER), BETH TOUSSAINT (TRACEY LAWTON), de nuevo AUDREY LANDERS en cinco episodios, y, en una sola escena, LEIGH TAYLOR-YOUNG. Siguen en sus papeles DEBORAH RENNARD, DEBORAH TRANELLI, SHERRIL LYNN RETTINO, OMRI KATZ, JOSHUA HARRIS, ROSEANNA CHRISTIANSEN y KEHLY GRAY.

The previous season´s main cast remains in the opening, except PRISCILLA PRESLEY and STEVE KANALY, who will appear in five episodes. CHARLENE TILTON returns to the main titles, and also added is SHEREE J. WILSON. This will be the last season for LINDA GRAY. Of the guest cast, only the new actor GEORGE KENNEDY appeared in all 26 episodes. Todo el mundo está preocupado en SOUTHFORK porque SUE ELLEN ha disparado contra J.R., para vengar la muerte de NICK. La policía la interroga sobre lo ocurrido:

"J.R. lo empujó. Luego se volvió hacia mí. Estaba segura de que también intentaría matarme, así que cogí la pistola...No podía creer lo que había hecho. Y se acercó a mí, y le maté." "Le disparó. Si está muerto o no, es otra cuestión." "¿Quiere decir que ese bastardo sigue vivo?" "Debería alegrarse: al menos no tendrá que enfrentarse a un cargo de asesinato." "Eso valdría la pena si hubiera muerto. Pero no fue asesinato, sino defensa propia. Ya se lo dije..." CLIFF se entrevista con PAM, que le pide que vuelva a DALLAS y la deje sola. Cuando se marcha, le dice a su cirujano:

"¿Podría volver sabiendo que sólo me quedan unos meses de vida, dándoles falsas esperanzas, para que acaben viéndome morir? Les quiero demasiado para eso. Sé que así es mejor: dejarán de buscarme y, si sufro al final, tendré en mi mente a CLIFF, a CHRISTOPHER y a BOBBY. Todo lo que necesito es el amor que siento por ellos." El rancho KREBBS es comprado por un tal CARTER McKAY.

Al mismo tiempo, J.R. también se somete al interrogatorio de la policía en el hospìtal:

"Claro que empujé a NICHOLAS PEARCE por el balcón. Ese hombre iba a matarme y yo intentaba protegerme, eso es todo. Ellos tiraron abajo la puerta de mi apartamento, entraron y me amenazaron física y verbalmente. Hice lo que cualquier buen tejano habría hecho: defendí mi hogar de los intrusos. No comencé la pelea, él se lanzó contra mí. Cuando cayó por el balcón, trataba de empujarme a mí. Y cuando me di la vuelta, allí estaba ella, de pie, con la pistola en la mano, y apretó el gatillo. Me disparó porque su amante había muerto. Fue venganza pura y simple por su parte." JEREMY le dice a BOBBY:

"Sólo quiero decir lo mucho que lo lamenté cuando oí lo de J.R." "Bueno, es una sorpresa para mí" "No lamento que le hayan disparado, sino que se esté recuperando tan rápido." La policía de Dallas advierte a los EWING que no son su policía particular, pero J.R. responde:

"Seguirá habiendo muchos problemas hasta que recupere a mi hijo," - a lo que responde ella: "Por encima de mi cadáver." "Lo que haga falta, SUE ELLEN. Lo que haga falta", añade sin pestañear él.

Everybody at SOUTHFORK is worried because SUE ELLEN has shot J.R. to revenge NICK´s death. The police question her about what happened:

"J.R. had thrown him over. And then he turned back to me. I was sure he was trying to kill me, too. So I... I picked up the gun... I couldn't believe what he'd done. And he came toward me... I killed him." "You shot him. Whether he's dead or not some other question." "You mean that bastard is still alive?" "I should make you happy, at least you won't be facing murder charge." "It'll most be worth it just knowing he's dead. But it wasn't murder. It was self-defense. I already told you that." CLIFF meets PAM, who asks him to return to Dallas and let her alone. When he leaves, she tells her surgeon:

"Could I really go back knowing I only have a few months to live? Get their hopes up? And have them stand by and watch me die? I love them all too much for that. I know it's better this way. They won't look for me anymore. And if there is pain in the end in my mind, I'll have CLIFF. And CHRISTOPHER. And BOBBY will be with me. My love for them is all I really need." The KREBBS Ranch is acquired by a man called CARTER McKAY.

At the same time J.R. is also questioned by the police at the hospital:

"Of course I did throw NICHOLAS PEARCE off my terrace! Hell, the man was intent on killing me, I just trying to protect myself, that's all. They kicked the door in my apartment, came in, threatened me, both physically and otherwise. I just did what any good Texans will do. I was defending my home against intruders. But I didn't start that fight. PEARCE jumped me. When he went over the balcony, he was only because slipped trying to push me over. And then I turned around, there she was, standing there with the gun in her hand, she pulled the trigger. She shot me. Because her lover was dead. It was vengeance, pure and simple on her part." JEREMY tells BOBBY:

"I just want to say how sorry I was when I heard about J.R." "Well, that surprises me." "Not about the shooting, about his recovering so nicely." The Dallas police warn the EWINGS they're not their personal police, but J.R. answers:

"Plenty of trouble until I get my boy back," to which she responds: "You'll get him back over my dead body." "Whatever it takes, SUE ELLEN. Whatever it takes," he adds without hesitation.

J.R. decide volver al rancho con el fin de recuperar a su hijo, pero SUE ELLEN ha conseguido su custodia temporal, con la ayuda de LUCY. CLIFF y CLAYTON ofrecen sus empresas a BOBBY porque piensa dejar el negocio del petróleo. Una maliciosa APRIL le explica la verdad sobre PAM:

"Me alegra saber que no vas a reservarte para Pam porque ella no va a volver. Cliff te ha mentido, él vio a Pam. Ella no quiere saber nada de ti, ¿y sabes por qué? Porque está con otro hombre: va a casarse con su cirujano. ¿No es tierno? Se ha enamorado de su creación..." Finalmente, SUE ELLEN permite a JOHN ROSS que viva en el rancho:

"Si cambia de opinión en cualquier momento, puede volver a vivir conmigo. ¡Bastardo! Yo soy la única que ha hecho siempre lo mejor para él o se ha preocupado por lo que deseaba. ¿Le habrías permitido vivir conmigo si te lo hubiera pedido? Yo le dejaré quedarse aquí si eso le hace feliz porque es lo único que me importa. Ni tú ni yo, él. Y si crees que esto cambiará lo que tengo pendiente contigo, estás muy equivocado. Lo que más ansío en mi vida es vengarme de ti, y créeme, lo haré."

J.R. decides to go back to the ranch so he can get his son back, but SUE ELLEN has got his temporary custody, with LUCY´s help. CLIFF and CLAYTON offer their companies to BOBBY because they plan to quit the oil business. APRIL tells the truth about PAM to BOBBY:

"Nice to know you're not gonna save yourself for Pam because she's not coming back. Cliff lied to you. He saw Pam. And you know what? She doesn't wanna know about you. Nor about him, nor even about Christopher, and you wanna know why? Because she found herself a new man. She's gonna marry her surgeon. Isn't that sweet? Guess he was taken with his own handiwork..." Finally, SUE ELLEN allows JOHN ROSS to live at the ranch:

"If he changes his mind at any time, he can come to me. You bastard! I'm the only one who's ever done what's right for him or cared about what he wanted. Would you have given him to me if he asked you to? I'm willing to let him stay here if that's what makes him happy. He's the only one I care about. Not you, not me, him. And if you think that by him being here settles any score between the two of us you are sadly mistaken. The one thing I have to look forward to in my life is evening the score. And believe me, I will."

Durante una cacería en ARKANSAS con BOBBY y los niños, J.R. conoce a una joven camarera llamada CALLY HARPER, por la que se siente fuertemente atraído. SUE ELLEN prosigue con su plan de venganza contra J.R., esta vez centrado en CLIFF:

"¿Nunca piensas que perdimos la oportunidad de tener algo especial? Yo sé que nunca valoré nuestra relación," le dice ella para llevárselo a su terreno. "Para mí, aquello es historia antigua. Hubo una época en que habría matado por oírte decir algo así." "Nos podría ir bien juntos" - insiste ella. "No, porque lo que quieres es lo que J.R. me ha hecho toda la vida - arguye CLIFF -, y eso ya no me interesa. ¿Recuerdas la última frase de Rhett Butler en "Lo que el viento se llevó"? Eso va por mí también..." En Haleyville, los hechos se precipitan cuando J.R. envía a casa a su familia para consumar su seducción, ajeno a la mirada de los hermanos HARPER:

"Mi mujer era una alcohólica y empezó a engañarme casi desde el primer día que nos casamos. Y seguí con ella. Dios sabe que lo intenté, pero un día, ella se marchó y me dejó con mi hijo. Pensaba que nunca lo superaría, me rompió el corazón. No quería ver a otras mujeres, hasta que te vi a ti. Deberías estar donde yo vengo. No trabajar en un bar de un pueblucho. Necesitas un lugar donde vivir, ropa elegante, joyas y criados que nos atiendan. No puedo imaginarme algo mejor que tener para mí a una hermosa joven como tú. Puedo darte lo que siempre has soñado. Eres demasiado especial para acabar tus días aquí..." Después de hacer el amor, el ruido de unas escopetas cargando los despierta a ambos...

During a hunting trip in ARKANSAS with BOBBY and the children, J.R. knows a young waitress called CALLY HARPER, to whom he feels a strong attraction. SUE ELLEN continues her revenge plot against J.R., now focused on CLIFF:

"Do you ever feel that we missed a chance at something very special? I know I never appreciated what we had," she says to win him back. "That's ancient history. There was a time I would've killed to hear you say that." "We could be good together" - she insists. "No, we couldn't. Because what you want us to do is what J.R. has done to me all of my life - CLIFF says, - "and I don't want it anymore. You know Rhett Butler's last line in Gone With the Wind? That goes for me too..." At Haleyville, pushing comes to shoving when J.R. sends his family home in order to consummate his seduction, unaware of the watching eyes of the HARPER brothers:

"My wife was an alcoholic and she started cheating on me almost from the first day we were married. And I stayed with her. Lord knows I tried. But then, one day, she just ran off. Left me and my son, and ran. I didn't think I was ever gonna get over that. She just broke my heart. And I didn't want any other women. Till I saw you. You belong where I come from. Not working in some little backwater bar. You need your own place. Refined clothes and jewelry and servants to wait on you and me there sharing it with you. Anything you dreamed of I'll get it for you. You're much too special to end your days here..." After making love, the sound of two rattling guns wakes them up...

La pasión que siente J.R. por la joven CALLY le coloca en una peligrosa situación, de la que ni su poder ni su astucia pueden salvarle. En DALLAS, ELLIE pide a BOBBY que ofrezca a CLIFF asociarse con la EWING OIL:

"No lo dices en serio," confía a su madre. "Claro que sí, y si lo piensas, hay muchas razones para hacerlo. Sería una prueba de buena fe para demostrar que se han cicatrizado las viejas heridas, por no mencionar que somos lo más parecido a una familia que tiene CLIFF." "Mamá, vigilar a J.R. ya me ocupa demasiado tiempo. No puedo imaginar a J.R. Y CLIFF en el mismo edificio." "Bien, eres el presidente de la EWING OIL, BOBBY, creo que puedes mantenerlos a los dos a raya." Después de una fuga frustrada con la ayuda de CALLY, J.R. cae en manos de los representantes de la ley de HALEYVILLE...

J.R.´s passion towards young CALLY puts her in a dangerous situation, and neither his power nor his craftiness can save him. At Dallas, ELLIE asks BOBBY to offer CLIFF an association with EWING OIL:

"You're not serious, he confides to his mother. "Yes, I am. And if you think about it, there are a lot of good reasons why. It would be a sign of good faith to prove that the old wounds are healed. Not to mention the fact that we're the closest thing left that CLIFF has to a family." "Mama, it's a full-time job for me just to keep my eye on J.R. I can't imagine J.R. and CLIFF even being in the same building together." "Well, you're the president of EWING OIL now, BOBBY: I think you can keep the two of them in line." After a frustrated runaway with CALLY´s help, J.R. ends up in hands of the law representers in HALEYVILLE...

Acusado falsamente de violación, J.R. es sentenciado a realizar trabajos forzados durante diez años. CLAYTON descubre que el río que pasa por SOUTHFORK se ha secado a causa de un sabotaje de CARTER. SUE ELLEN acepta una invitación para cenar con JEREMY:

"Quiero hacer daño a J.R. - anuncia ella - , tanto daño que nunca pueda volver a hacérmelo a mí o a nadie más." "La venganza es algo muy dulce. Requiere de un plan de ataque." - le dice JEREMY. "Lo sé, por eso quería hablar contigo. No sé por dónde empezar exactamente. A J.R. ya no le importo lo bastante como para atacarlo a nivel personal." "Por el momento, no descartaría nada..." - murmura él...BOBBY conoce a la seductora TRACEY en unos billares y J.R. acaba en manos de los HARPER...

Falsely accused of rape, J.R. is sentenced to road work for several years. CLAYTON finds out that the river that crosses SOUTHFORK is dry because of a sabotage of CARTER. SUE ELLEN accepts an invitation for dinner from JEREMY:

"I wanna hurt J.R. - she announces - So badly that he'll never be able to hurt me or anyone else again. "Revenge is very sweet. It takes a plan of attack." - JEREMY says. "I know, that's why I wanted to talk to you. I just don't know exactly how to go about it. You see J.R. doesn't care enough about me anymore to hurt him on a personal level." "At the moment, I wouldn't rule anything out..." - he murmurs...BOBBY meets alluring TRACEY at a billiard pool bar and J.R. ends up in the HARPERS´ hands...

J.R. ha perdido todo su poder, debido a las presiones de los hermanos de CALLY. Para huir de este complot familiar, accede a casarse con la chica, el mismo día que SUE ELLEN obtiene el divorcio:

"Esté donde esté J.R., espero que no disfrute el día de hoy tanto como yo..." - dice ella con satisfacción. ELLIE decide dinamitar la presa que ha desviado las aguas. SUE ELLEN ve con malos ojos las atenciones de JEREMY, y BOBBY y RAY se enfrentan con los hombres de McKAY en un bar...

J.R. has lost all his power, due to the pressure of CALLY´s brothers. In order to escape from this family plot, he agrees to marry the girl, the same day that SUE ELLEN obtains the divorce:

"Wherever J.R. is, I hope he's not enjoying today as much as I am..." - she says joyfully. ELLIE decides to blow off the dam that has detoured the waters. SUE ELLEN doesn´t like JEREMY's attention at all, and BOBBY and RAY confront McKAY´s men in a bar...

7/288: "SHOWDOWN AT THE EWING CORRAL" ("ENFRENTAMIENTO FINAL EN EL RANCHO EWING")

Recién casado, J.R. consigue huir del rancho HARPER, mientras que en SOUTHFORK se prepara una guerra contra CARTER y sus hombres. ELLIE advierte que defenderá la propiedad con uñas y dientes, pues no piensa vender su tierra. JEREMY revela a SUE ELLEN sus intenciones:

"Sé que casi todo el mundo me considera frío e implacable. Así es como quiero que me vean: como alguien que no tiene ninguna debilidad. Pero desde que empezamos a pasar tiempo juntos, me he preguntado cuánto he dejado de lado por mantener esa imagen. Aún tengo un gran plan entre manos. Cuando haya completado eso, y haya conseguido esa victoria, quiero poder compartirlo con alguien..." Cuando SLY va a recogerle, le da como única explicación:

"Coge tu peor pesadilla, triplícala y estará a medio camino de donde he estado." Una vez en casa, JR. se queda atónito al saber quién es su nuevo socio:

"¿Que BOBBY aceptó que entraras en la EWING OIL?" - pregunta un atónito J.R. a CLIFF. "Accedí a ayudarle a comprar las Refinerías FARLOW. Él me invitó a asociarme con vosotros y yo acepté. Pásate por aquí cuando quieras." "El infierno se congelará antes de que trabajes en esta oficina." "Prepara tus patines: será un largo invierno." Al mismo tiempo, ELLIE decide enfrentarse a McKAY: "Haga lo que haga, nada en este mundo me sacará de mi rancho."

A newly married J.R. manages to escape from the HARPER Ranch, while SOUTHFORK is getting ready for a war against CARTER and his men. ELLIE warns that she will defend her property tooth and nail because she shall not sell it. JEREMY tells SUE ELLEN about his intentions:

"I know that most people think I'm cold and implacable. That's the me I want the world to see, someone with no chinks in his armor no vulnerable spots. But since we've spent this time together I wonder how much I've given up for that image. I still have one grand plan in the works. When that's complete when that victory is won I want someone to share it with..." When SLY picks him up, he says as only explanation:

"You take the worst one you ever had, triple it and that's halfway of where I been". Once at home, JR. is astonished to know who his new partner is:

"BOBBY took you into EWING OIL?" - asks an astonished J.R. to CLIFF. "I agreed to help him out buying FARLOW Refineries. He invited me in; I accepted. Drop in anytime. I'll be around." "Hell will freeze over before you ever work in this office!" "Sharpen up your ice skates. It's going to be a long winter." At the same time, MISS ELLIE decides to face McKAY: "But no matter what he does, there's no power on this Earth that will ever get me off this ranch."

CARTER se ofrece a comprar 2 secciones de SOUTHFORK para evitar el enfrentamiento, sabiendo que son ricas en petróleo. Sin embargo, J.R. contrata a un grupo de mercenarios para preparar la batalla. ELLIE y BOBBY ponen a CLAYTON en antecedentes sobre las tierras que quiere McKAY:

"En la sección 40 se encuentra la mayor reserva de petróleo de Tejas. Papá la descubrió después de salvar el rancho para mamá y el abuelo." Ellie continúa: "Mi padre detestaba lo que el petróleo estaba haciendo a Tejas, a la tierra. Así que obligó a Jock a cerrar el pozo." "McKAY no es un ranchero con mala suerte - razona J.R. "Sólo hace lo que haría cualquier buen buscador de petróleo. Si no puede conseguir la tierra que quiere, compra una parte de la propiedad adyacente y luego empieza a presionar. Y más tarde o más temprano, podrá hacerse con la propiedad original. Es hora de saber quién es McKAY en realidad." Por su parte, BOBBY averigua quién es el hombre del pasado de TRACEY: el mismo CARTER, su padre...que recibe una sorprendente visita: JEREMY WENDELL:

"No habría venido si no me hubieras decepcionado - le dice - . "Creía que ya habrías cerrado este negocio. Hughes me ha dicho que no haces todo lo que te pedí. Quiero el petróleo que hay en la Sección 40 de Southfork. Y debes hacer a los Ewing lo que sea para conseguirla. ¿Me he explicado?"

CARTER offers to buy 2 SOUTHFORK sections to stop the fight, knowing they are rich in oil. However, J.R. hires a group of mercenaries to prepare the battle. MISS ELLIE and BOBBY update CLAYTON about the lands McKAY is after:

"Section 40 sits on the biggest oil pool in Texas. Daddy discovered it after he saved the ranch for Mama and her daddy." ELLIE goes on: "My father hated what oil was doing to Texas, to the land. So he made Jock cap the well." "McKay is no hard-luck rancher - J.R. reasons. "Now, McKay is just doing what any good wildcat would do. If he can't get the land he wants, he'll buy a piece of property right next to it and then put on the pressure. And then sooner or later, he just might get the property he originally wanted. Now I think it's time I found out who McKay really is." BOBBY discovers who the man from TRACEY´s past is: her own father CARTER...who gets an unexpected visitor: JEREMY WENDELL:

"I wouldn't have come if I weren't disappointed in you - he tells him - . "I thought you would've closed this deal already. I heard from Hughes you're not doing everything I asked. I want that oil under Section 40 on Southfork. And whatever you have to do to the Ewings to get it, that's what you do. Do I make myself clear?"

9/290: "COUNTER ATTACK" ("CONTRAATAQUE")

BOBBY jura vengarse del ataque que ha sufrido CHRISTOPHER mientras cabalgaba por el rancho. BOBBY, CLAYTON, J.R. y RAY, que ha vuelto de visita, reúnen a todos sus hombres para combatir a CARTER y recuperar el control del rancho. A todo ello, ignoran que detrás del asunto se encuentra otra persona. J.R. visita al psicólogo para intentar superar la experiencia vivida en HALEYVILLE:

"No era lo bastante importante, y le garantizo que eso no volverá a suceder. Seré tan importante que no habrá un solo pueblo de ignorantes en este país que no conozca mi nombre. No, señor, se acabó ser bueno..." Una vez HUGHES y sus hombres están fuera de circulación, los EWING y McKAY llegan a un acuerdo, y este explica a BOBBY su complicada relación con su hija TRACEY:

"Solía pasar mucho tiempo fuera de casa, era la única forma de pagar la escuela, la casa y la ropa. Y solía beber, pero en toda mi vida, nunca engañé a su madre. La noche que ella murió, iba a reunirse con su amante. En mi ausencia, ella había estado haciendo todo aquello de lo que me acusaba a mí. Nunca fui capaz de contarles a TRACEY y a Tom la verdad sobre su madre. Después del funeral, ella huyó culpándome de todo. TOMMY se dio a las drogas duras y ahora está en una cárcel de Sudamérica acusado de contrabando. Un hombre para el que trabajé contactó conmigo y dijo que podía sacarle de la cárcel. Y podía llevarme adonde vivía TRACEY. Me dio el dinero para comprar el rancho de KREBBS y yo sólo tenía que causaros problemas para que me vendierais esas dos secciones. Ya he hecho suficiente daño a todos...

BOBBY swears he will take revenge for the attack suffered by CHRISTOPHER while riding at the ranch. BOBBY, CLAYTON, J.R., and RAY, who is visiting, gather all their men to battle CARTER and regain the control of the ranch. Besides, they ignore there is someone else behind the affaire. J.R. sees a psychologist in order to try to overcome the experience he went through at HALEYVILLE:

"I wasn't big enough. And I guarantee you, I'll never let that happen again. I am gonna become so big there won't be a hick town in this country that won't know my name. No, sir, no more Mr. Nice Guy." Once HUGHES and his men are out of way, the EWINGS and McKAY get to an agreement, and the latter explains to BOBBY his complicated relationship with his daughter TRACEY:

"I was away from home a lot. That was the only way I could pay for the schools and the houses and the clothes. And I was a drinker. But in all my life, I never cheated on their mother. On the night she was killed, she was going to meet her lover. All of the things that she'd accused me of doing was what she was doing while I was away. I never could bring myself to tell Tracey and Tom the truth about her. They both left right after she was buried. Tracey just ran, blaming me for everything. Tommy got into drugs real heavy. He's in a jail in South America right now on a smuggling charge. A man I once worked for contacted me. And he said he had the power to get Tommy out of prison. He could get me to where Tracey was. He gave me the money to buy the Krebbs place. I was to cause you enough trouble so that you'd sell me those two sections. I have caused enough damage to everybody..."

ELLIE sigue adelante con la venta de la intocable sección 40 de SOUTHFORK, aparentemente. JEREMY pide a SUE ELLEN que se case con él, a lo que ella responde:

"Casi valdría la pena para poder enviarle a J.R. una invitación. No me caes bien, cada vez que me tocas siento escalofríos. Antes me acostaría con J.R. que contigo, y antes me acostaría con un monstruo de feria que con él. ¿Eso te da una idea de cómo te aprecio? Y no te molestes en decirme que lo lamentaré. Mi vida actual sólo puede ir a mejor si tú sales de ella." RAY vuelve con su familia no sin antes decirle a su familia de Southfork:

"Una parte de mí nunca se marchará." J.R. inicia contactos para participar en los negocios de APRIL. Finalmente, los Ewing encerronan a JEREMY para que compre una tierra sin valor y confiese sus delitos sin saber que puede oírle la policía:

"Le ordené a Hughes que matara a quien se interpusiera en mi camino. Me alegro de que nadie resultara herido, todo resulta más agradable contigo delante, J.R." "Wendell, eres pura escoria," responde él. Un buen día, aparece por el rancho CALLY, asegurando que es la esposa de J.R., y ELLIE le da la bienvenida..."Creo que esto me va a gustar", dice ella.

ELLIE goes ahead with the sale of the untouchable section 40 of SOUTHFORK, unaware that JEREMY is behind CARTER. JEREMY proposes to SUE ELLEN, and she answers:

"It might almost be worth it just to send J.R. an invitation. I don't like you. You make my skin crawl when you touch me. I would rather sleep with J.R. than sleep with you. And I'd rather sleep with a carnival geek than sleep with J.R. Does that give you any idea as to where you rank in my affections? And don't bother telling me that I'll regret this. Because as bad as my life is right now, it can only improve with you out of it." RAY returns with his family but he previously says to his Southfork family:

"There's a part of me that's never gonna leave here." J.R. starts contacts to participate in APRIL's business. Finally, the Ewings corner JEREMY so he buys a worthless land and confesses his crimes without knowing the police can hear him:

"I told Hughes to kill anyone who stood in my way. Actually, I'm happy none of you were hurt, it makes it all the sweeter doing this in front of you, J.R." "Wendell, you are the scum of the earth," he responds. One fine day, comes up at the ranch CALLY, assuring she is J.R.´s wife, and ELLIE welcomes her..."I think I'm really gonna like it here," she says.

CALLY, ahora apellidada EWING, intenta adaptarse al ritmo de vida de los EWING. La reacción de BOBBY lleva a J.R. a murmurar: "Mamá debería haberse hecho una ligadura de trompas después de nacer yo." ELLIE da a CALLY un buen consejo:

"Los hombres Ewing son muy duros y las mujeres Ewing deben ser aún más duras. Tuve que coger la fusta con el padre de J.R. antes de que se portase bien conmigo, y tal vez tengas que hacer lo mismo." En el tradicional Baile de los Petroleros, tienen lugar varios enfrentamientos, entre las admiradoras de BOBBY y entre los recién divorciados, pues J.R. ha contado a CALLY que SUE ELLEN era una borracha y una madre inepta:

"SUE ELLEN, no eres como dijo J.R. Dijo que eras una borracha perdida, que siempre le engañabas y que descuidabas a tu hijo..." "Y después de eso, apuesto a que te fuiste a la cama con él..." - añade SUE ELLEN ante una avergonzada CALLY. "¿Cómo lo sabes?" - pregunta ella. "Lo he adivinado por casualidad..." - añade sarcástica SUE ELLEN, que le da un puñetazo a J.R. delante de todos.

CALLY, now with the surname EWING, tries to fit in the lifestyle of the EWINGS. BOBBY´s reaction makes J.R. murmur:

"Mama should've had her tubes tied right after I was born. MISS ELLIE gives CALLY a good advice: "The EWING men are very tough and the Ewing women have to be even tougher. I had to take a horsewhip to the boy's father before he'd do right by me. And you may have to do the same thing." At the traditional Oil Barons´ Ball, several confrontations happen, between BOBBY´s fans and the newlyweds, since J.R. had told CALLY that SUE ELLEN was a drunk and an unfit mother:

"SUE ELLEN, you're not like JR said...he said you were a hopeless drunk, that you cheated on him all the time and that you neglected your child..." "And I bet after he told you that, you went to bed with him" - adds SUE ELLEN in front of an ashamed CALLY. "How'd you know that?" - she asks. "Just a wild guess" - SUE ELLEN answers sarcastically, before punching him in front of everybody.

La noticia de la elección de CARTER como presidente de la WESTSTAR enfurece a J.R., que a su vez intenta enfrentar a BOBBY y TRACEY. Pero este visita a CARTER para preguntarle por qué aceptó el cargo:

"KIMBERLY me pidió que la ayudase y yo accedí. Has estado escuchando a tu hermano durante demasiado tiempo. Si buscas en el diccionario la palabra "paranoico", encontrarás una foto de J.R.," le dice él. Al mismo tiempo, la inocente CALLY se siente cada día más incómoda en SOUTHFORK, por culpa de J.R. y JOHN ROSS, mientras SUE ELLEN vende su empresa de lencería y compra un estudio de cine. Al mismo tiempo, explica a CALLY un par de cosas sobre J.R.:

"Para él, la seducción es más importante que todo lo demás. Creo que por eso me engañó tantas veces. Sólo conozco una forma de cambiar eso: haciendo que vuelva a desearte. Asegúrate de que ve lo que no puede conseguir. No dejes que te toque ni que se meta en tu cama, durante tanto tiempo como puedas." "Eso es algo enfermizo, ¿no?" - dice CALLY. "Esa es la mejor descripción que he oído de J.R. EWING..."

The news of CARTER´s naming as the WESTSTAR Chairman infuriates J.R., who tries to cause trouble between BOBBY and TRACEY. But he visits CARTER to ask him why he took the job:

"KIMBERLY asked me to help her and I agreed. You've been listening to your brother too much. You look up "paranoid" in the dictionary, and beside it, you'll find a picture of J.R." - he tells BOBBY. At the same time, innocent CALLY feels more and more uncomfortable at SOUTHFORK, because of J.R. and JOHN ROSS, while SUE ELLEN sells her lingerie company out and buys a cinema studio. At the same time, she explains CALLY a couple of things about J.R.:

"To J.R., the chase is more important than anything. I think that's why he cheated on me so much. Only one way to change that I know: you have to make him want you again. Make sure he sees what he can't have. Don't let him touch you. And don't let him get into your bed. For as long as you can." "That's kind of sick, ain't it? - CALLY says. "But that's as good a description of J.R. Ewing as I've ever heard."

J.R. vuelve a tener problemas cuando el padre de NICHOLAS se presenta en DALLAS en busca del presunto asesino de su hijo. JOHN ROSS hace todo lo posible por evitar el divorcio de sus padres. Por fin, SUE ELLEN recibe la visita de PEARCE:

"Soy de la vieja escuela: me tomo la Biblia literalmente. Creo en la venganza." SUE ELLEN asume la muerte de NICK y confiesa al padre de este lo ocurrido: "Ahora, cuando pienso en aquella noche, me doy cuenta de que soy tan culpable como J.R. de lo que pasó. NICHOLAS me quería y habría hecho cualquier cosa por mí, y por eso murió. ¿Sabe cuántas veces he pensado: si tan sólo no hubiera insistido en que me ayudara a buscar a JOHN ROSS, si no hubiéramos ido al piso de J.R. aquella noche, si hubiera impedido que siguiese peleándose con él antes de ponerse tan violentos. Si tan sólo...Son palabras vacías. Fue un accidente. Él estaría vivo hoy si no hubiera intentado ayudarme. He vivido con ese sentimiento de culpa durante mucho tiempo, y quería olvidar que aquello había ocurrido. A pesar de lo mucho que amaba a NICK, soy igual de culpable que J.R. de la muerte de su hijo." LOMBARDI le contesta:

"El Sr. Ewing le debe mucho. Podía haberse vengado de él contándome una historia falsa, pero en vez de eso, le ha salvado la vida."

J.R. is in trouble again when NICHOLAS´s father shows up at Dallas looking for his son´s presumed murderer. JOHN ROSS tries his best to stop his parents´ divorce. At last, SUE ELLEN accepts NICK´s death and confesses his father what happened:

"Now when I look back at that night, I realize that I'm just as much to blame as J.R. for what happened. NICHOLAS loved me. He would do anything for me, and because of that, he's dead. Do you know how many times I've thought: If only I hadn't insisted on him helping me look for JOHN ROSS. If only we hadn't gone to J.R.'s condo that night. If only I had stopped the fight between J.R. and him before it got so violent. If only. They're such empty words. It was an accident. He would be alive today if he hadn't tried to help me. I have lived with that guilt for so long now, and l wanted to shut it out to forget that that evening ever happened. As much as I loved him I'm just as much to blame as J.R. for the death of your son." LOMBARDI answers:

"Mr. Ewing owes you a great deal. You could've had your revenge by telling me a different story. Instead you saved his life."

SUE ELLEN empieza de forma decidida la preparación de una película con el guionista inglés DON LOCKWOOD, como parte del plan para hundir a J.R.:

"Básicamente, creo que es una versión tejana de "Ciudadano Kane". Mi protagonista está hecho de la misma pasta. Si cogiera a todos los que ha pisoteado, cubriría el Estado de Tejas de una punta a la otra. Hasta a Charles Foster Kane le costaría ponerse a la altura de mi héroe...No me importa si no recupero mi inversión. He encontrado una forma de vengarme de J.R. Cuando estrene esta película, se convertirá en el hazmerreír de Dallas. Se sentirá tan violento que no podrá volver a salir de casa. Esa será mi venganza definitiva..." También consigue que este le agradezca su mediación con el padre de NICK:

"Gracias, SUE ELLEN. No tenías la obligación de decirle lo que pasó, es un cambio respecto a hace unos meses. ¿Has abandonado tu plan de venganza? Nunca he querido que fuésemos enemigos." "Qué conmovedor," contesta irónica ella. La negativa de este a vender unos terrenos malogra el proyecto de CLIFF y BOBBY. Los McKay reciben a TOMMY, el hermano de TRACEY, que viene de Sudamérica...

A determined SUE ELLEN begins to design a movie with English scriptwriter DON LOCKWOOD, as part of the ploy to sink J.R.:

"Basically, I think it's a Texas version of Citizen Kane. My protagonist is from the same mold. If you took everyone he trampled on to get to where he is today they would reach from one end of Texas to the other. Even Charles Foster Kane would have a hard time keeping up with my hero...I don't care if I never get a penny back. I have finally figured out a way to even the score with J.R. When this picture is released he's going to be the laughing stock of Dallas. J.R. is going to be so embarrassed he'll never be able to show his face anywhere. And that is going to be my ultimate revenge..." She also gets to hear his thanks for meddling with NICK´s father:

"Thank you, SUE ELLEN. You didn't have to tell him what happened, but you did. It's quite a change from a few months ago. Are you finished with this revenge thing? I never wanted us to be enemies." "How touching - she says ironically. J.R.´s denial to sell some lands misfires CLIFF´s and BOBBY´s. The McKays welcome TOMMY, TRACEY´s brother, who is coming from SOUTH AMERICA...

"Me has hecho sentir vulgar e inútil. Sólo me llevaré lo que traje y no quiero que el bebé sufra el mismo rechazo que yo. Voy a tener el niño en Haleyville. No pienso quedarme aquí a menos que nos casemos, y no sólo porque estoy embarazada..." DON revela a SUE ELLEN que no está seguro de poder escribir el guión de su película:

"Sé demasiado acerca de ti. Tus frustraciones, tus sueños, tu ira. Eres una persona cariñosa y entregada, SUE ELLEN. Frustrada por ese matrimonio fatal con J.R. En tus diarios sólo he visto sufrimiento." "Aún te queda algo por descubrir. ¿Lo reconsiderarías?", pregunta ella, y él le dice que sí. CARTER y TRACEY se esfuerzan para que el recién llegado TOMMY se sienta a gusto. Al final, J.R. le pide a CALLY que se case con él, presionado por ELLIE:

"Vamos a celebrar la mejor boda que hayas visto..."

SUE ELLEN gives DON her diary so he can find out all about J.R. CALLY decides to leave the ranch, but before she tells J.R. she is expecting a son of his:

"You've made me feel cheap and trashy. I am only taking what I brought with me. And I sure don't want that baby to be rejected the way I was. I'm having this baby in Haleyville. I'm not staying unless we get married, and I'm not just because I'm pregnant..." DON tells SUE ELLEN he´s not sure he´s able to write the script for her movie:

"I know too much about you. Your frustrations, your dreams, your anger. You're a loving, giving person. Totally frustrated by that deadly marriage to J.R. All I saw in your diaries was the pain." "So there's something left for you to discover. Will you reconsider?", she asks. And he says yes. CARTER and TRACEY try hard to make newcomer TOMMY feels comfortable. At the end, J.R. asks CALLY to marry him, pressured by MISS ELLIE:

"We're gonna have the biggest wedding you have ever seen."

J.R. y CALLY preparan su nueva boda en SOUTHFORK, pero un tornado amenaza la ceremonia, y los invitados deben quedarse a dormir en el rancho. J.R. y SUE ELLEN discuten a causa de DON LOCKWOOD:

"Es un hombre con encanto, sensibilidad y clase. En resumen, es todo lo contrario a lo que eres tú." - A lo que responde J.R.: "¿Por qué no le pido al chico del aparcamiento que traiga tu escoba para que puedas volar a casa?" Más tarde, SUE ELLEN le dice a DON: "Estar casada con J.R. es como una película de Hitchcock. Al principio te ríes y luego acabas gritando de terror." Asimismo, DON rechaza una proposición de SUE ELLEN, que le informa de que el dormitorio de J.R. es, "junto con EL ALAMO, uno de los mayores campos de batalla de TEJAS." TOMMY empieza a acosar a APRIL y ella se lo encuentra desnudo en su cama:

"Eres una provocadora, April Stevens." ¿Y tú qué eres, Tommy McKay?", responde ella. "Un hombre que necesita una larga ducha de agua fría. No me hagas esperar mucho, nena. ¿No querrás que explote, verdad?" Y, en la intimidad, CALLY revela a J.R. su alianza con SUE ELLEN para llevarlo al altar:

"¿De cuánto tiempo estás embarazada?" "De 10 minutos, si hay suerte" - contesta ella, inocentemente. "Esto fue idea mía, pero SUE ELLEN me ayudó. Te quería más que nada y era la única forma de atraparte." J.R. sonríe y se levanta de la cama: "Tengo que felicitarte, CALLY. Quizá sí que tengas lo necesario para ser una buena esposa EWING." Cuando sale a buscar otra botella de champán, se encuentra a SUE ELLEN esperándole con un globo en la mano: "Has tardado algo menos de lo habitual", le dice ella mientras ríe divertida...

J.R. and CALLY prepare their new wedding at SOUTHFORK, but a tornado threatens the ceremony, and the guests have to stay the night at the ranch. J.R. and SUE ELLEN argue about DON LOCKWOOD:

"He's a man with charm, sensitivity and class. In short, your exact opposite." - To which JR answers: "Why don't I ask the parking attendant to fetch your broom so you can fly on home?" Later on, SUE ELLEN tells DON: Being married to J.R. Is like a Hitchcock movie. You start out laughing, and then you find yourself screaming in terror." Also, DON rejects a proposition from SUE ELLEN, who says to him that J.R.´s bedroom is "next to THE ALAMO, it's one of the great battlegrounds of TEXAS." TOMMY begins to stalk APRIL:

"You're a tease, April Stevens." "And what are you, Tommy McKay?", she answers. "A man who's in need of a long, cold shower. Don't keep me waiting too long, sugar. You wouldn't want me to explode, would you?" And, in the privacy, CALLY reveals J.R. her alliance with SUE ELLEN to get him wed:

"Just how long have you been pregnant?" "With any luck at all about 10 minutes." - she responds innocently. "This was my idea, but SUE ELLEN helped me. I wanted you, J.R., more than anything else and this is the only way I could catch you." J.R. smiles and gets out of the bed: "Well I gotta tip my hat to you, CALLY. You just might have the stuff to make a proper EWING wife after all." When he walks out to pick up another bottle of champagne, she finds SUE ELLEN waiting for him with a balloon in her hand: "You were a little quicker than usual, J.R." - she says, laughing out loudly.

SUE ELLEN prosigue con el guión para su película, requiriendo la colaboración de LUCY. Además, ella y DON comentan sobre la boda:

"He pasado fines de semana con condes excéntricos y ridículos duques, pero los Tejanos les lleváis la delantera..." "Oh, es muy típico de los eventos sociales de SOUTHFORK" - responde ella - , "me sorprende que nadie acabara en la piscina." Ella no consigue averiguar gran cosa sobre DON. BOBBY descubre que J.R. intenta sabotear los negocios que él realiza, y TOMMY se ve acorralado por unos traficantes de droga...

SUE ELLEN pursues the writing of the script for her movie, and requires LUCY´s collaboration. Also, she and DON discuss the wedding:

"I've spent weekends with eccentric earls and daft dukes, but you Texans have it all over them." "Oh, it's pretty typical of a social event here at SOUTHFORK - she responds. "I'm just surprised nobody ended up in the swimming pool." She can´t find any info about DON. BOBBY discovers that J.R. tries to sabotage his deals and TOMMY is besieged by drug-dealers...

Aprovechándose de la extrema necesidad que tiene TOMMY de dinero, J.R utiliza a este para infiltrarse en el Consejo de la WESTSTAR y frustrar sus negocios. BOBBY busca la manera de reanimar el idilio que mantiene con TRACEY, pero los últimos acontecimientos parecen haber cambiado las prioridades de esta:

"Estaba enfadada con mi padre, y derrotaba a todos los hombres que me encontraba." "Entonces, ¿qué haremos ahora? ¿El amor y no la guerra?" "No es tan sencillo. La ira era una parte de mí, y ya no la siento, y se ha llevado una parte de mí. Ahora no sé quién soy. Tengo que descubrir cómo es mi familia, y, en cierta forma, tengo que redescubrirte a ti. Te agradezco lo que has hecho esta noche, BOBBY. Era una buena idea - le dice TRACEY después de jugar con él una partida de billar. "Oh, sí - responde él irónicamente. - También lo era el Titanic..." DON visita a J.R. para conocerle más a fondo, pero él no pierde el tiempo:

"Está claro que hay muchas cosas que no sabe de mi ex esposa. La primera norma es: no darle nunca la espalda cuando está a menos de 200 metros de un cuchillo de cocina." "La juzga mal. Sue Ellen es capaz de una gran lealtad y amor." A lo que responde J.R.: "Con ella, el amor siempre va después de la venganza. Más vale que no equivoque, amigo, o se quedará sin cabeza." "No me preocupa, porque es una mujer estupenda y podría haber llevado una vida maravillosa de no ser por dos trágicos errores: haberse casado con usted dos veces."

Taking profit of TOMMY´s extreme need of money, J.R uses him to get into the WESTSTAR Board and misfire their businesses. BOBBY is looking for a way to warm up his romance with TRACEY, but the latest events seem to have changed her priorities:

"I was angry with my father, and I was beating up every man I met." "So now what? Make love, not war?" "It isn't that simple. The anger was a part of me. Now it's gone. And it's taken a piece of me with it. I don't know who I am now. I have a family I'm discovering. And in a way, I'm gonna have to rediscover you. I appreciate what you did tonight, BOBBY. It was a great idea. - TRACEY tells him after a pool game. "Oh, yeah. So was the Titanic..." DON visits J.R. to get to know him a little better, but doesn´t waste his time:

"It's clear you got a lot to learn about my ex-wife. The first rule being, you never turn your back on her when she's within 200 yards of a kitchen knife." "You misjudge. Sue Ellen's capable of great loyalty and great love." To which J.R. responds: "In Sue Ellen's case, love always takes a back seat to revenge. Now, you better not make any mistakes, fella, or it's off with your head." "I'm not worried, because Sue Ellen's a wonderful lady and could've had a wonderful life, except for her two tragic mistakes: she married you, twice."

J.R. y BOBBY se quedan atrapados en el ascensor de la EWING OIL durante la noche. La situación degenera en un duelo verbal, en el que BOBBY se cree vencedor:

"Parece que, últimamente, hemos sido más enemigos que amigos." "Enemigos no, competidores tal vez. ¿Crees que no me gustaría trabajar hombro a hombro contigo?" "Supongo que no lo intentamos lo suficiente." "Yo sí - aclara BOBBY. "Tú siempre lo hacías imposible. Siempre mintiendo y engañando para ponerle una trampa a alguien." "Yo tenía mis objetivos, unos objetivos que me iban repitiendo cuando entré a trabajar con papá en la Ewing Oil. Tenía que ser la mejor empresa y más importante que todo lo demás. Que la familia, los amigos o lo que fuera. Y nunca habría ignorado las normas si la gente no se hubiera interpuesto en mi camino, si me hubieran dejado en paz, nadie habría resultado herido."

"Eso no es más que porquería para justificarte ante ti mismo y lo sabes." "Recuerdas lo que le pasaba a la gente que le contradecía?" "Si tenía que pasar por encima de alguien, al menos les advertía para que se apartaran." "Hablas como si nunca hubieras roto un plato. Sé que era papá quien hacía los planes, pero tú los llevabas a cabo. Descubriste que el poder corrompe. Pero tienes suerte, BOBBY, porque no tienes al fantasma de JOCK EWING susurrando en tu oído. Era mi empresa hasta que decidió que el chico morenito entrase a dirigirla conmigo. "Enséñale todo lo que sabes, compártelo todo con BOBBY" - me dijo. "Entonces me di cuenta de lo que le estabas haciendo al apellido EWING. También es mi apellido y quiero que signifique algo más que hacer negocios ilegales. Tenemos los mismos objetivos, pero intentamos alcanzarlos de formas distintas." "Vaya legado nos dejó, ¿verdad?" Mientras, APRIL es acosada por TOMMY. Cuando vuelve la luz, J.R. y BOBBY han hecho las paces para volver a trabajar en el negocio del petróleo:

"Vamos a hacer historia aquí - afirma J.R. - Sólo hay una cosa que no me gusta. Que ese maldito BARNES tenga un despacho más grande que el mío..."

J.R. and BOBBY are trapped in the EWING OIL lift all the night. The situation degenerates into a verbal duel, in which BOBBY believes he is the winner:

"Seems like lately, we've been more enemies than friends." "Not enemies. Competitors maybe. Do you think I wouldn't like to work side by side with you? I guess we didn't try hard enough." "I did try. - BOBBY specifies - . "You're the one who made it impossible. You were always lying and cheating and trying to figure out some way to double-cross somebody." "But I had these goals. Goals that were drummed into me when I started to work for Daddy at Ewing Oil. It had to be the best. Nothing came before Ewing Oil. Not family, not friends, not anything. And I'd never have broken any of the rules if people hadn't had gotten in my way, if they had just let me alone nobody would've gotten hurt."

"That's a lot of self-justifying crap, and you know it." "Remember what happened to people who got in his way?" "If he was gonna run somebody over he'd at least warn them to get out of the way." "Now, you sound like you never did any dirty work. I know Daddy made the plans, but you executed them. You learned that power corrupts. But you're lucky, BOBBY. You don't have the ghost of JOCK EWING whispering in your ear. It was my company until he decided to let the fair-haired boy come in, run it with me. "You teach him everything you know."- he said to me. "Then I realized what you were doing to the Ewing name. Well, that's my name too. And I want it to stand for something besides wheeling and dealing. We have the same goals, J.R. We just go about them differently, that's all." "He left us a hell of a legacy, didn't he?" Meanwhile, APRIL is stalked by TOMMY. When lights are turned on again, J.R. and BOBBY have made up and agree to work together again in oil business:

"We're gonna make history here - assures J.R. - There's only one thing wrong. That damn Barnes has got a bigger office than I have!"

Los hermanos EWING vuelven a asociarse y centran su punto de mira en la lucha contra la WESTSTAR. SUE ELLEN prosigue con la búsqueda de actores para interpretar a toda la familia EWING, incluido J.R. Por su parte, CALLY se adapta muy bien a su nuevo papel de esposa-cómplice de J.R.

The EWING brothers become associates again and center their focus on the fight against WESTSTAR. SUE ELLEN keeps seeking for actors to play the whole EWING family, including J.R. On the other side, CALLY fits in her new role of J.R.´s accomplice-wife very well.

La relación que mantenían BOBBY y TRACEY acaba mal cuando ella defiende a su hermano ante la acusación de maltrato por parte de APRIL. J.R. y CLIFF siguen recelando el uno del otro en la empresa:

"No sé si esta EWING OIL es tan todopoderosa...A mí me iba mejor en la BARNES-WENTWORTH" - señala CLIFF con maldad. "Nadie te retiene aquí contra tu voluntad, siempre podrías dimitir" - sugiere J.R. "No te daré esa satisfacción" - responde CLIFF. El ataque de TOMMY acerca más a BOBBY y APRIL, mientras CLIFF va a ver la actuación de AFTON en un club. Finalmente, un negocio envía a los EWING a EUROPA...

BOBBY and TRACEY´s relationship ends badly when she defends her brother against APRIL´s accusation of physical abuse. J.R. and CLIFF still distrust each other at the company:

"I don't know about this almighty EWING OIL. I was doing better at BARNES-WENTWORTH" - remarks CLIFF maliciously. "Nobody's holding you against your will. You could always resign" - J.R. suggests. "I wouldn't give you the satisfaction" - answers CLIFF. This fact gets BOBBY and APRIL close, while CLIFF attends a club act of AFTON. Finally, a business sends the EWINGS to EUROPE...

En DALLAS, CLAYTON desaparece misteriosamente, y CLIFF descubre por casualidad que AFTON tiene una hija llamada PAMELA REBECCA...

J.R. and CALLY fly to Salzburg in the company of BOBBY, on a trip of business and pleasure. There, BOBBY will hold a mysterious meeting with APRIL, who asks him for a second opportunity. In DALLAS, CLAYTON disappears mysteriously too, and CLIFF discovers by chance that AFTON has a daughter called PAMELA REBECCA...

The EWINGS head to VIENNA to advance to WESTSTAR in the affaire of the deal with the European Cartel. During their visit to the city, they meet a Texan tourist couple who turn out to work for CARTER. AFTON hides CLIFF if the child is his daughter because their relationship cannot depend on that...

J.R. mantiene un inesperado encuentro en Viena con la única mujer que ha querido, VANESSA BEAUMONT. En el Baile de Primavera, pide a J.R. una última noche de amor, a pesar de CALLY. McKAY observa que sus competidores parecen seguirle los pasos:

"Veo que los hermanos EWING también fueron invitados. Eso me parece algo molesto." "El Baile de la Primavera es para todo el mundo" - informa ROLF BRUNDIN. "Pero sobre todo para los que les gusta enfrentar a bandos opuestos, ¿verdad?" "¿No es eso la esencia del capitalismo? ¿Y no es el capitalismo la religión oficial de TEJAS?" - añade BRUNDIN. APRIL y BOBBY viven una romántica noche de amor, mientras ELLIE descubre que CLAYTON está amnésico y quiere irse del rancho...

J.R. unexpectedly meets at Vienna the only woman he has ever loved, VANESSA BEAUMONT. At the Spring Ball, she asks J.R. for one last night of love, in spite of CALLY. McKAY notices that his competitors seem to follow his steps:

"I see the EWING brothers also received an invitation. I find that somewhat annoying." "Spring Ball is for everyone" - says ROLF BRUNDIN. "But especially for those who like to play one side against the other, eh?" "But isn't that the essence of capitalism? And isn't capitalism the state religion of TEXAS?" - adds BRUNDIN. APRIL and BOBBY live a romantic night of passion, while ELLIE finds out that CLAYTON got amnesia and wants to leave the ranch...

25/306: "MISSION TO MOSCOW" ("MISIÓN EN MOSCÚ")

J.R. y BOBBY viajan a MOSCÚ a petición de VANESSA, para asistir a una misteriosa cita en la Plaza Roja. SUE ELLEN y DON terminan el rodaje de la película, pero no su relación. AFTON abandona la ciudad con su hija, molesta con CLIFF. Cuando los hermanos EWING intentan alertar a McKAY sobre el plan de la OPEP, McKAY pone las cartas sobre la mesa:

"Las grandes empresas se comen a las pequeñas. En unos años, habrá quizá media docena de corporaciones que controlen nuestro país o lo que queda de él. Todo es una cuestión de inversión y beneficios. Ya no hay fronteras ni países. Sólo dólares y yens, y libras y marcos e inversores que les da igual quién los gane o los pierda. Sólo existe un idioma: el poder. Los inversores sólo sienten lealtad hacia los beneficios y la persona que se los proporciona, y ese hombre voy a ser yo." Finalmente, CLAYTON recupera la memoria y los chicos vuelven a casa, no sin que CALLY deje a J.R. las cosas bien claras respecto a su matrimonio:

"Jamás te compartiré. O soy tu esposa en todos los sentidos, o no lo soy en absoluto." A lo que responde él: "Eres mi esposa. Para decir la verdad, me siento feliz estando con una sola mujer. Es algo que no he sentido antes y no te dejaré marchar, cariño..."

J.R. and BOBBY travel to MOSCOW by request of VANESSA, in order to attend a mysterious appointment at the Red Square. SUE ELLEN and DON finish the shooting of the movie, but not their affair. AFTON leaves town with her daughter, bothered with CLIFF. When the EWING brothers try to warn McKAY against the OPEC plan, he shows his true colors:

"The big fish swallowing the little fish. In a few years, there may be half a dozen corporations that control the country or what´s left of it. It´s all a question of investment and profit. There are no more borders, there are no more countries. There are just dollars and yen, and pounds and marks and investors don´t care who owns them or who loses them. There´s just one language: power. Stockholders´ only loyalty is to profit and to the man that brings it to them. That man is going to be me." Finally, CLAYTON regains his memory and the boys fly home, but before that, CALLY makes things clear to J.R. regarding their marriage:

"I just want to say one thing. I will never, ever share you. Either I'm your wife in every sense or I'm not your wife at all." And J.R. replies: "You're my wife. To tell you the truth, it's a good feeling to be happy with just one woman. It's something I've never had before and I'm not going to let you go, honey."

Los EWING han cedido el negocio de Europa a CARTER, que está decidido a hundir a sus rivales. APRIL empieza a recibir llamadas que podrían ser de TOMMY aunque McKAY lo niega:

"Alejáos de mí, o uno de nosotros acabará muerto" - amenaza CARTER. "Si quieres otra guerra, eso es lo que tendrás" - le responde BOBBY. ELLIE recibe una misteriosa carta dirigida a JOCK, y CLIFF, siguiendo la pista de AFTON, cae en una trampa de su ex marido. Finalmente SUE ELLEN accede a vivir con DON en LONDRES, y, en un pase especial, chantajea a J.R. con la película, para humillarle si vuelve a las andadas...

"He guardado la película en una caja fuerte. Pero si oigo que piensas ir tras de mí o me atacas por algún motivo, o si creo que no tratas bien a John Ross, o a cualquier otra persona...o si me levanto una mañana con el pie izquierdo...o si simplemente me aburro, estrenaré la película, y entonces, J.R., te convertirás en la burla de todo el Estado de Tejas..."

The EWINGS have given up the European deal for CARTER´s sake, who is determined to ruin his rivals. APRIL starts to receive calls that might be from TOMMY, though McKAY denies it:

"You stay away from me... or one of us is going to end up dead" - CARTER threatens. "If you want another war, I'll give it to you" - counters BOBBY. ELLIE gets a mysterious letter addressed to JOCK, and CLIFF, following AFTON´s track, falls into a trap of her ex-husband. Finally, SUE ELLEN agrees to live with DON in LONDON, and, after a special screening, she blackmails J.R. with the movie, to humiliate him if he uses his old tricks again...

"The movie will be locked up securely in a vault. But if I hear that you´re planning to come after me or if you cross me for any reason, or if I feel that you're not doing right by John Ross, or anyone else for that matter...or if I get up on the wrong side of the bed one morning...or if I´m simply bored, then I´ll release the movie and then J.R., you will be the laughing stock of Texas."
