Son and grandson of actors, he started in theatre and then passed to movies, when signed up with METRO in 1942.

Nacido el 30 de mayo de 1940 en ORANGE, New Jersey, se inició profesionalmente como actor en los seriales diarios THE SECRET STORM y ANOTHER WORLD. Luego fue intercalando telefilmes con miniseries y, finalmente, llegó el episodio doble de DALLAS, LA REUNIÓN (foto inferior). El primer intérprete de GARY no estaba disponible el año siguiente, cuando debía retomar el personaje en la “spin-off” de DALLAS, donde GARY sería uno de los protagonistas. LAWYER ALAN BEAM´S PERFORMER on Season 2 of DALLAS was born on April 14, 1950 in IOWA CITY, Iowa. First credited as RANDY POWELL, he guest-starred on shows like BARNABY JONES, HARRY O, CANNON, McCLOUD, 8 IS ENOUGH, FANTASY ISLAND, VEGA$, until he became a regular on LOGAN´S RUN TV Version (first pic).

In 1979 he joined the DALLAS´s cast (above left pic) and became one of the suspects of shooting J.R. at the end of that TV season. In 1983 he returned to the Soap World, now on daytime, starring on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. His last film, shot in 1999, is titled THE DEFORMATION OF MYRNA BROWN.

Last May 24, 2017, MARTIN died of pancreatic cancer in PHILADELPHIA, at the age of 75. He will be remembered.

El actor JARED MARTIN interpretó a STEVEN “DUSTY” FARLOW regularmente en las etapas 2ª, 4ª y 8ª, aunque también apareció en otras ocasiones. Nacido en QUEENS, N.Y., el 21 de diciembre de 1943, de origen ítaloescocés, estudió piano e interpretación desde los 12 años y, más tarde, se graduó en la Universidad de COLUMBIA, donde compartió habitación con el que sería, años después, uno de los especialistas en cine de suspense: BRIAN DE PALMA.

Tras protagonizar algunos de sus cortometrajes, pasó al teatro local y, una noche, le descubriría para BROADWAY el reputado JOE PAPP. Al trasladarse a HOLLYWOOD, intervino en series como LOS PATRULLEROS, VIAJE FANTÁSTICO y LA FUGA DE LOGAN, donde coincidió con RANDOLPH POWELL. MARTIN fue quien obtuvo mayor popularidad como el vaquero DUSTY, que le ofreció la oportunidad de rodar series y filmes fuera de su país, como la secuela televisiva de LA GUERRA DE LOS MUNDOS, AENIGMA (Lucio Fulci) o KARATE KIMURA (F. de Angelis).

En la década de los 2000, sólo apareció en las series MEDIAS DE SEDA y LA LEY DE L.A., y en el filme TWIN SITTERS (John Paragon). MARTIN became very popular as cowboy DUSTY, which gave him the chance to film series and movies out of his country, like the TV sequel to WAR OF THE WORLDS, Lucio Fulci´s AENIGMA or F. de Angelis´ KARATE KIMURA.

In the 2000 decade he only appeared on the shows SILK STALKINGS and L.A. LAW, and in John Paragon´s TWIN SITTERS. Since 1994, he devoted himself to teaching CINEMATOGRAPHY to High School alumni in PHILADELPHIA. After retiring in 2010, he has begun a second career as fine arts photographer and directed a dozen shorts awarded in various festivals. In 2015 he´ll release his first motion picture as a director, starring TREAT WILLIAMS, THE CONGRESSMAN. JARED MARTIN passed away on May 24, 2017 at 75.

FERN FITZGERALD came from the BROADWAY stages, where she had performed different roles in well-known musicals. However she had rather hard professional beginnings. After graduating she got jobs as a recepcionist, waitress and PR during 8 years. In 1976, she was offered the role of KITTY in the musical CHICAGO and, after that, another part in A CHORUS LINE.

These experiences served her to introduce herself into the TV business and appeared on the Season 1 of DALLAS, in a brief role that was extended to the rest of the series, though not fully developed until Season 4. Since then MARILEE remained in a discreet background which did not stop her to show off her sense of humor playing MARILEE. After DALLAS, she guest-starred on shows like LIFE GOES ON and SEINFELD.

El personaje de la madre de PAM, REBECCA, apareció por vez primera en un flashback perteneciente al episodio EL PROCESO DE JOCK. En aquella ocasión, la misma VICTORIA PRINCIPAL representó el papel, ya que el incidente rememorado había sucedido unos 30 años antes, aproximadamente. Cuando los guionistas decidieron “resucitar” a REBECCA (supuestamente fallecida por aquel entonces), iniciaron la búsqueda de una actriz cuyo físico pudiera recordar, en la medida de lo posible, al de Victoria. Una veterana secundona, PRISCILLA POINTER, de estructura facial similar a la de la intérprete de PAM, aunque con brillantes ojos azules, protagonizó el episodio LA MADRE PRÓDIGA. Nueve semanas más tarde, se incorporaba al reparto fijo de DALLAS, que no abandonaría hasta la desaparición del personaje en 1983.

The character of PAM´s mother, REBECCA BARNES WENTWORTH, first appeared in a flashback belonging to episode Jock´s Trial. Then it was VICTORIA PRINCIPAL herself who played the role, since the event remembered had happened about 30 years before. When the producers decided to “resurrect” REBECCA (presumably dead by then), they started a search to cast an actress who could resemble physically Victoria, as much as possible. Veteran supporting actress PRISCILLA POINTER, whose face structure looked very much like PAM´s performer, though with bright blue eyes, co-starred in the episode THE PRODIGAL MOTHER. 9 weeks later she joined the regular cast of DALLAS, which would not leave until her character´s disappearance in 1983.

Before to become popular as REBECCA, POINTER had followed a long acting career with supporting roles in big movies; e.g. she had been DIANE KEATON´s mother in R. Brooks´ LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR and had bits in 80´s cult movies like F. Perry´s MOMMIE DEAREST or D. Lynch´s BLUE VELVET, apart from being remembered in film history as her own daughter(AMY IRVING)´s mother in B. de Palma´s CARRIE. Since 1983, PRISCILLA has guest-starred on quality shows such as L.A. LAW, THE FLASH, E.R., PICKET FENCES or mini-series HEMINGWAY. The producers were looking for a young woman, not necessarily a singer, but she, who had already recorded a few LP´s with her own themes, was the lucky actress to be cast. Born as AUDREY HAMBURG in 1959, her artistic activity began in 1971, and she loves better working before a live audience. She guest-starred on a number of shows, among them THE LOVE BOAT (third pic), BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and CHARLIE´S ANGELS.

Along with her sister JUDY, she formed the duet THE LANDERS SISTERS, and the fame she gained with DALLAS was used to showcase her abilities through movies, especially in R. Attenborough´s film version of BROADWAY musical A CHORUS LINE (fourth pic). Since her last appearance as AFTON on J.R. RETURNS in 1996 (eight pic), she has filmed one movie in GERMANY, where her records are quite successful, and devoted herself, altogether with her family, to the children´s show THE HUGGABUG CLUB.

MICHAEL LANDON gave him the main role in the movie SAM´S SON, for which he got the award for best revelation of the year. Besides he played a regular part on another TV production, GLITTER. However TIMOTHY´s career abruptly ended when he unexpectedly died of aids on February 6, 1988.

Pronto consiguió un trabajo como modelo publicitario, lo que le catapultó al mundo de la interpretación. Al principio, sólo fueron pequeños papeles en series de prestigio, como F.B.I., BONANZA o MISIÓN IMPOSIBLE, hasta que obtuvo un papel de coprotagonista en la película ROLLERBALL (N. Jewison). El hermano pequeño de DANA ANDREWS vino al mundo en HUNTSVILLE, Tejas, el 29 de septiembre de 1924. Intervino en numerosos filmes en los 50 y 60, entre los que destacan CAUTIVOS DEL MAL (V. Minnelli) y TRIGO Y ESMERALDA (R. Wise). Su fama aumentó en los 70 con el papel principal de la serie LOS HOMBRES DE HARRELSON. Su elección para el rol del nuevo JOCK EWING sorprendió a propios y extraños, no sólo porque a este se le había dado por muerto, sino por su escaso parecido con JIM DAVIS.

Este personaje, llamado primero BEN STIVERS y luego WES PARMALEE, fue el único que se recicló tras el sueño de PAM, manteniéndose la trama del regreso de un presunto JOCK, amnésico y reconstruido por la cirugía. Al cabo de 15 episodios, el anciano se marchó por donde había venido tras sembrar el caos. Sin embargo, detrás de aquello se encontraba el interés del actor por incorporarse al rodaje de la secuela de LA LEY DEL REVOLVER, RETURN TO DODGE, y volver a interpretar el personaje de WILL MANNON. FORREST realizó un breve cameo en la versión para cine de LOS HOMBRES DE HARRELSON que se ha estrenado recientemente como S.W.A.T. In May 18, 2013, STEVE FORREST died at 87.

DANA ANDREWS´s younger brother came to the world in HUNTSVILLE, Texas, on September 29, 1924. He participated in a lot of movies in the 50´s and 60´s, the most remarkable of them The Bad And The Beautiful (V. Minnelli) and So Big (R. Wise). His fame increased in the 70´s with the main role on the show S.W.A.T. His casting for the role of new JOCK EWING surprised everybody not only because he had been presumably dead, but because he hardly looked like JIM DAVIS.

This character, first called BEN STIVERS and then WES PARMALEE, was the only one recycled after PAM´s dream, as the storyline of the return of presumed JOCK, amnesic and reconstructed by surgery, was repeated all over again. After 15 episodes, the old man left the same way he had come up, after causing chaos. However, behind that there was the actor´s interest in joining the sequel to GUNSMOKE, RETURN TO DODGE, and playing the character of WILL MANNON again. FORREST did a brief cameo in the recent movie version of S.W.A.T. El 18 de mayo de 2013, STEVE FORREST murió a los 87 años.

Nacido como JACK TOMASO SCALIA en la ciudad de NUEVA YORK el 10 de noviembre de 1952, el actor de origen italiano se dio a conocer en la serie EL CONTACTO DEVLIN (foto inferior izquierda) como hijo del malogrado ROCK HUDSON. Tras una época difícil a causa del alcohol y las drogas, JACK se convirtió, en 1987, en el nuevo amante de SUE ELLEN, NICHOLAS PEARCE (2ª foto inferior izquierda), un misterioso hombre de negocios que guarda una identidad secreta. Diez años más joven que LINDA GRAY, esta relación de la mujer de J.R. no escandalizó tanto como la que SUE ELLEN había mantenido con el veinteañero CHRISTOPHER ATKINS.

SCALIA ha continuado en series y telefilmes, como WOLF, TEQUILA Y BONETTI (foto inferior derecha), e hizo una aparición especial en el último episodio de DALLAS. A primeros del nuevo milenio, interpretó a CHRIS en el serial diario TODOS MIS HIJOS, participó en la secuela de MUJERES DE HOLLYWOOD y en la película VUELO NOCTURNO (W. Craven), además de haber protagonizado dos películas en 2015: THE FLAG y BECKER´S FARM.

At early new millennium he played CHRIS on the daytime soap ALL MY CHILDREN, co-starred in the sequel to the mini-series HOLLYWOOD WIVES and W. Craven´s RED EYE, as well as two more films in 2015: THE FLAG and BECKER´S FARM.

La intérprete de KIMBERLY CRYDER nació en WASHINGTON el 25 de enero de 1952. Lanzada a la fama por su papel de granjera en la serie PEYTON PLACE (foto inferior izquierda) y por su matrimonio de veinte años con RYAN O´NEAL, LEIGH fue uno de los mayores atractivos de la 10ª temporada de DALLAS: esposa de uno de los rivales de J. R., intentaba que este se divorciase de SUE ELLEN y se casara con ella...y con las acciones mayoritarias que controlaba en la WESTSTAR OIL.

La actriz ya había aparecido en filmes como LA PERVERSA (A. March, foto inferior centro), AL FILO DE LA SOSPECHA (R. Marquand) o QUE NO PARE LA MÚSICA (N. Walker). Prosiguió con éxito su carrera en TV, destacando PICKET FENCES y su papel de RACHEL HARRIS, premiado con un EMMY secundario. SUSAN LUCCI es la actriz mejor pagada de los seriales diarios, pero le hicieron falta 19 nominaciones para obtener el codiciado EMMY (foto superior). Nacida el 23 de diciembre de 1947 en SCARSDALE, N.Y., se graduó en el Marymount College de N.Y., participó en el Show de ED SULLIVAN y en algunas películas, como YO, NATALIE (F. Coe) y COMPLICIDAD SEXUAL (L. Peerce). En 1970, obtuvo, a los 20 años, el papel de la quinceañera ERICA KANE en el serial diario ALL MY CHILDREN (fotos inferiores).

Su papel en la última etapa de DALLAS la convirtió en una mujer de misteriosa personalidad, primero con el nombre de SHEILA FOLEY (foto inferior derecha), una turista que secuestraba a APRIL, y luego como HILLARY TAYLOR, la mujer que había asumido la personalidad de la anterior, miembro de una peligrosa organización terrorista. Después de causar gran revuelo en DALLAS, LUCCI volvió a PINE VALLEY y a las intrigas locales de ALL MY CHILDREN. - MITCH PILEGGI (como el enloquecido Morrissey del sanatorio donde está internado JR en el final de la etapa 12 y principios de la 13) obtuvo papeles más relevantes en EXPEDIENTE X, STARGATE: ATLANTIS, MEDIUM, SOBRENATURAL y, finalmente, regresó a DALLAS en la continuación de TNT, como HARRIS RYLAND, el ex marido de ANN.

- BRENDA STRONG (como un ligue de una noche de Cliff en el episodio de la 9ª temporada EL GATO Y EL RATÓN) también se convirtió en una de las protagonistas de la nueva DALLAS, interpretando a la nueva esposa de BOBBY, la ya mencionada ANN. Con anterioridad, se había hecho famosa como la narradora y primera víctima en la serie MUJERES DESESPERADAS.

- RAY WISE (como Blair Sullivan, jefe de Lucy en la agencia de modelos en la etapa 5) fue luego LELAND PALMER en la serie y posterior precuela para cine de TWIN PEAKS, y prosiguió su carrera con papeles protagonistas en SAVANNAH, 24 y REAPER.

- BARRY CORBIN (como el sheriff de Braddock) se convirtió en el MAURICE MINNIFIELD de DOCTOR EN ALASKA, rol que le proporcionó dos nominaciones al Emmy. Luego participó como fijo en series como THE BIG EASY, ONE TREE HILL y THE CLOSER.

- También JANINE TURNER (una amiga de Lucy en la etapa 3) acabó en la serie antes mencionada y obtuvo su propia propuesta al Emmy. Pasó luego a la serie DOCTORAS DE PHILADELPHIA y a filmes como MÁXIMO RIESGO y EL DR. T Y LAS MUJERES.

- CHAZZ PALMINTIERI (el secuaz de Nick Pearce Sr.´en la etapa 10), se reencontró con LINDA GRAY en la fracasada comedia OSCAR, pero luego obtuvo una nominación al Oscar, valga la redundancia, por BALAS SOBRE BROADWAY. Continuó rodando películas para cine, como UNA HISTORIA DEL BRONX, JADE, LA BRIGADA DEL SOMBRERO y DIABÓLICAS, así como el remake de KOJAK de 2005.

- GREG EVIGAN (como Billy, el rockero que secuestró a Lucy), protagonizó varias series de TV después, como BILLY JOE Y SU MONO, MASCARADA, MIS 2 PADRES, PACIFIC PALISADES y un rol como amante de DOUG SAVANT en MELROSE PLACE.

- JAMES CROMWELL (como el Detective Kane que buscaba a Mark), fue nominado al Oscar como actor secundario por BABE, EL CERDITO VALIENTE. Después intervino en filmes como EL ESCÁNDALO DE LARRY FLYNT, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, SPACE COWBOYS o THE QUEEN. Ha interpretado papeles secundarios en series de culto como A 2 METROS BAJO TIERRA o 24. - TRACY SCOGGINS (como Diane Kelly, "socia" de Serena, y luego la abogada Anita Smithfield en ambas reuniones) apareció en LOS COLBY entre una y otra, como MONICA, rol que retomó en el último año de DINASTÍA. - Varios actores de FALCON CREST (también producida por LORIMAR...) aparecieron antes en DALLAS, entre ellos LAURA JOHNSON (BETTY LOU, la amante a tiempo parcial de Alan Beam), MEL FERRER (HARRISON PAGE, jefe de Pam en la tienda), KATE VERNON (la que sería LORRAINE PRESCOTT, fue antes una compañera de Peter Richards), JOANNA CASSIDY (SALLY BULLOCK nº 2), MORGAN FAIRCHILD (JENNA WADE nº 1), y otros. También se dio a conocer no hace mucho que ROBERT FOXWORTH (CHASE en FALCON CREST) se negó a interpretar a J.R. a causa de su MALDAD SIN MOTIVO. Ambas series compartieron asimismo guionistas y directores, pero en este caso la competencia fue más dura. CAMILLE MARCHETTA (que creó los personajes de JENNA y KRISTIN) pronto pasaría a DYNASTÍA y lo mismo haría otro guionista de DALLAS, DAVID PAULSEN, responsable de la última etapa de la serie de los CARRINGTON.

Más adelante, el productor AARON SPELLING, "alma mater" del lujo televisivo de los 80 y el esplendor adolescente de los 90, intentó canalizar la fama del "star system" de DALLAS, atrayendo para sus series a actores como LINDA GRAY (MELROSE PLACE y MODELS), VICTORIA PRINCIPAL (TITANS), MORGAN BRITTANY (GLITTER y MP), JOHN BECK (MODELS) y, de KNOTS LANDING, a TED SHACKELFORD (SAVANNAH) y DONNA MILLS (MP), con escaso éxito en la mayor parte de los casos.

- BRENDA STRONG (as a one-night stand of Cliff in a Season 9 episode titled CAT & MOUSE) also became one of the main stars of TNT´s DALLAS, playing BOBBY´s new wife, the above mentioned ANN. Previously she had become famous as the narrator and first victim in the show DESESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

- RAY WISE (as Blair Sullivan, Lucy´s boss at the model agency in S.5) later was LELAND PALMER on the TWIN PEAKS series and movie, and continued his career with big roles in SAVANNAH, 24, & REAPER.

- BARRY CORBIN (as the Braddock sheriff) would become MAURICE MINNIFIELD on NORTHERN EXPOSURE which earned him two Emmy nominations. Then he was a regular on shows such as THE BIG EASY, ONE TREE HILL & THE CLOSER.

- Also JANINE TURNER (a girlfriend of Lucy´s in S.3) would end up in the above-mentioned show and won another Emmy nomination. She went on to series STRONG MEDICINE and movies like CLIFFHANGER & DR. T AND THE WOMEN.

- CHAZZ PALMINTIERI (Nick Pearce Sr.´s henchman in S.10), was re-united with LINDA GRAY on the flop OSCAR, but then got an Oscar nomination for BULLETS OVER BROADWAY. He remained in big-screen films, like A BRONX TALE, JADE, MULHOLLAND FALLS, DIABOLIQUE, as well as the 2005 KOJAK remake.

- GREG EVIGAN (as Billy, the rocker who kidnapped Lucy), starred on several TV shows after that, such as B.J. AND THE BEAR, MASQUERADE, MY 2 DADS, PACIFIC PALISADES and a role as DOUG SAVANT´s lover in MELROSE PLACE.

- JAMES CROMWELL (as Detective Kane who searched for Mark), later was nominated for an OSCAR as supporting actor in BABE. Then he did movies like LARRY FLYNT, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, SPACE COWBOYS or THE QUEEN. He played regular roles in cult shows 6 FEET UNDER & 24. He has 3 Emmy nominations.

- TRACY SCOGGINS (as Diane Kelly, a partner of Serena, and then lawyer Anita Smithfield in both reunions) appeared in THE COLBYS in-between, as MONICA, a role she reprised on DYNASTY´s last year. She has starred in shows LOIS & CLARK, BABYLON 5 & DANTE´S COVE. Soon, more info in DYNASTY´s section.

- Several stars from FALCON CREST (also produced by LORIMAR...) debuted on DALLAS, among them LAURA JOHNSON (BETTY LOU, Alan Beam´s part-time lover), MEL FERRER (HARRISON PAGE, Pam´s boss at The Store), KATE VERNON (LORRAINE PRESCOTT, a classmate of Peter Richards), JOANNA CASSIDY (SALLY BULLOCK nº 2), MORGAN FAIRCHILD (JENNA WADE nº 1), and others. Also known is the fact that ROBERT FOXWORTH (CHASE on FALCON CREST) refused to play J.R. due to his UNEXPLAINED EVILNESS. Both series also shared writers and directors, but in this case the competence was harder. CAMILLE MARCHETTA (who created the characters of JENNA and KRISTIN) would soon be hired by DYNASTY´s producers and so would another DALLAS´s writer, DAVID PAULSEN, responsible for the last season of the CARRINGTONS´ show.

Later on producer AARON SPELLING, alma mater of TV glitz in the 80´s and the teen splendor in the 90´s, tried to channel the fame of the DALLAS STAR SYSTEM, attracting to his shows the likes of LINDA GRAY (MELROSE PLACE and MODELS, INC.), VICTORIA PRINCIPAL (TITANS), MORGAN BRITTANY (GLITTER and MP), JOHN BECK (MODELS, INC.) and, from KNOTS LANDING, TED SHACKELFORD (SAVANNAH) and DONNA MILLS (MP), hardly successfully in most cases.
