(Continúa el reparto protagonista de la anterior temporada. Como secundarios co-protagonistas, figuran AUDREY LANDERS Y HOWARD KEEL a lo largo de toda la etapa, y las nuevas incorporaciones, LOIS CHILES como HOLLY HARWOOD, y TIMOTHY PATRICK MURPHY como MICKEY TROTTER. Durante la 1ª mitad, seguirá también PRISCILLA POINTER como REBECCA, y durante la 2ª, se les unirán JOHN BECK como MARK GRAISON y MORGAN BRITTANY retomando su papel de KATHERINE.

The previous season main cast remains the same. Also starring at the episode opening titles will be AUDREY LANDERS and HOWARD KEEL all through the season, and guest-starring at the end titles will be LOIS CHILES as HOLLY HARWOOD, and TIMOTHY PATRICK MURPHY as MICKEY TROTTER. J.R. intenta, sin éxito, convencer a SUE ELLEN para que vuelva con JOHN ROSS a SOUTHFORK, pero ella se siente confundida, y aún más cuando se entera de que J.R. ha llevado las cosas del niño al rancho. Cuando BOBBY Y PAM vuelven de L.A., se convoca una reunión para decidir el futuro de la EWING OIL. ELLIE Y LUCY (en nombre de su padre) votan para echar a J.R. de la presidencia. J.R. se cree victorioso pues, además de su 20%, controla las 10 acciones de RAY, que se las vendió en su momento crítico, y las 10 de JOHN ROSS, pues parece que este vuelve a vivir en el rancho. Todo depende de BOBBY, que no sólo vota para sustituirle en la empresa, sino que le pega un puñetazo tras contarle quién es el padre real de CHRISTOPHER...

Mientras, CLIFF sale del coma y AFTON se reafirma en su postura de apoyo a él. LUCY, que sólo contó su violación a su amiga MURIEL, descubre que está embarazada. BOBBY conoce casualmente a HOLLY HARWOOD, la heredera de una empresa petrolífera de DALLAS, pero ignora que J.R. ha llegado a un acuerdo con ella: dirigirá su compañía en la sombra, a cambio de la mitad de las ganancias de la HARWOOD OIL.

"Por J.R., tan poderoso como siempre..." - brinda con él la bella HOLLY. "Como debe ser" - asegura J.R...

J.R. unsuccessfully tries to lure back SUE ELLEN and make her come with JOHN ROSS to SOUTHFORK, but she is confused and even more when she knows that J.R. has moved the boy's things to the ranch. When BOBBY and PAM return from L.A., they hold a meeting to decide the future of EWING OIL. ELLIE and LUCY (in her father´s name) vote against J.R. and take him out of the presidency. J.R. thinks he is a winner since, besides his own 20%, now he controls RAY´s 10 shares, sold in a critical moment for him, and JOHN ROSS´s 10%, as he seems to be living in the ranch again. Everything depends on BOBBY, who not only votes to replace him in the company, but also hits J.R. after telling him who CHRISTOPHER´s real father is...

Meanwhile, CLIFF gets out of coma and AFTON reaffirms herself as his supporting mate. LUCY, who only told about her rape to her friend MURIEL, discovers that she indeed is pregnant. BOBBY meets by chance HOLLY HARWOOD, the heiress to an oil company in DALLAS, but he ignores that J.R. has come to an agreement with her to run her company in the shadow, in exchange of half the income of HARWOOD OIL.

"To J.R., as powerful as ever...", beautiful HOLLY toasts with him - "As it should be...! - He assures.

SUE ELLEN se siente culpable del intento de suicidio de CLIFF. Está desconcertada y necesita tiempo para tomar una decisión definitiva sobre J.R. Por ello se traslada al rancho SOUTHERN CROSS para visitar a CLAYTON. PAM aconseja a LUCY, embarazada de ROGER, que visite a un médico. CLIFF rechaza el cargo que MARILEE le ofrece en su compañía. Mientras, RAY Y DONNA reciben noticias tristes sobre AMOS KREBBS, gravemente enfermo. El testamento de JOCK se encuentra sellado hasta el momento de su lectura. No obstante, J.R. utiliza todos sus medios (que incluyen a su amiga SERENA y al yerno del abogado SMITHFIELD) para conocer el contenido del codicilo que envió JOCK.

"Gracias, papá, gracias..." - murmura levantando la vista...

SUE ELLEN keeps feeling guilty for CLIFF´s suicide attempt. She is confused and needs time to take a final decision about J.R. Therefore she goes at SOUTHERN CROSS Ranch to visit CLAYTON. PAM advises LUCY, carrying ROGER´s baby, to see a doctor. CLIFF rejects the charge that MARILEE offers him in her company. In the meantime, RAY and DONNA get sad news about AMOS KREBBS, seriously ill. JOCK´s testament is sealed until its reading. Nevertheless, J.R. uses all his resources (including his call-girl friend SERENA and lawyer SMITHFIELD´s son-in-law) to know the contents of the codicil sent by JOCK.

"Thanks, daddy, thanks..." – he whispers, as he looks up...

Los hermanos EWING están de acuerdo en que su madre salga, se distraiga y vea a sus antiguos amigos, cosa que hubiera complacido a JOCK. DONNA Y RAY han de aplazar une vez más su luna de miel porque deben acudir al funeral de AMOS en KANSAS. PAM está preocupada por la depresión de LUCY, que decide abortar. CLIFF acepta con desconfianza el trabajo que le ofrece MARILEE. J.R. Y BOBBY intentan que ELLIE tome la decisión de declarar a JOCK legalmente muerto ya que la empresa puede encontrarse con problemas fiscales si se retrasa la lectura del testamento.

"De una manera u otra - asegura J.R. a su hermano - conseguiré que se lea el testamento..."

The EWING brothers agree about letting their mother go out, have fun and meet her friends, which would have pleased JOCK. DONNA and RAY have to postpone their honeymoon once again because they must attend AMOS´s funeral in KANSAS. PAM is upset about LUCY´s depression, and she finally decides to have an abortion. CLIFF hesitantly takes the job offered by MARILEE. J.R. and BOBBY press ELLIE to make the decision of declaring JOCK legally dead, since the company might have tax problems if the will reading is delayed any longer.

SUE ELLEN se lleva una gran sorpresa cuando se encuentra con DUSTY en SOUTHERN CROSS y se entera de que su antiguo amante acaba de casarse. Al saber que también ha superado su impotencia, una ofendida SUE ELLEN decide volver al rancho. RAY y DONNA están pasando unos días en KANSAS, en casa de LIL TROTTER, tía del capataz. Allí, él intenta ayudar a su primo MICKEY. Por su parte, J.R. piensa sorprender a su madre durante el Baile con el anuncio de la creación de unas becas conmemorativas en honor de JOCK. De esta manera, ELLIE se sentirá obligada a hacer lo que ambos hermanos creen conveniente: leer el testamento de su padre...

The Oil Barons Ball offers new perspectives to ELLIE, since it means to be her first public appearance without JOCK. SUE ELLEN gets quite a surprise when meets DUSTY at SOUTHERN CROSS and learns that her former lover has just married. When she painfully knows that he has overcome his impotence, then she decides to return home. RAY and DONNA are staying at his aunt LIL TROTTER´s in KANSAS. There he tries to help his cousin MICKEY. On the other side, J.R. intends to surprise his mother during the Ball with the announcement of the creation of JOCK´s memorial scholarships. Thus ELLIE will feel obliged to do what both brothers consider the right thing: reading their daddy´s testament...

A pesar del dolor que la acción le produce, ELLIE decide declarar a JOCK legalmente muerto y la familia se reúne para conocer su última voluntad. Mientras tanto, REBECCA promete utilizar todo su capital y energía para vengarse de J.R. PAMELA se encuentra en un dilema, pues no sabe si ayudar a su marido o a su madre. RAY y DONNA llevan a MICKEY a SOUTHFORK, donde va a trabajar como peón. Por su parte, J.R. y SUE ELLEN fijan la fecha de la boda, mientras BOBBY asegura que, si su hermano hereda la compañía, se marcharán del rancho. La lectura del testamento, en presencia así mismo de GARY, RAY y LUCY, causa una enorme preocupación a toda la familia, excepto a J.R., que ya conocía su contenido...

Despite the pain that it takes, ELLIE decides to declare JOCK legally dead and the family is reunited to know his last will. Meanwhile, REBECCA promises to use all her wealth and energy to get even on J.R. PAMELA is torn apart, as she does not know if she should help her husband or her mother. RAY and DONNA bring MICKEY to SOUTHFORK, where he will work as a handman. On their side, J.R. and SUE ELLEN set the date for the wedding, while BOBBY assures that, if his brother inherits the company, they both will leave the ranch. In presence of GARY, RAY and LUCY too, the reading of the will causes a big concern to all the family, except J.R., who already knew its content...

La EWING OIL se divide en dos una vez leído el testamento. Tanto BOBBY como J. R. están dispuestos a llegar hasta donde sea para hacerse con el control de la empresa. Según la última voluntad de JOCK, aquel de los dos hijos que haya ganado más con su parte de la compañía a lo largo de un año, se convertirá en el único presidente de esta. ELLIE y PAM están muy preocupadas porque la situación puede afectar notablemente a las relaciones familiares. Por su parte, REBECCA previene a J.R. diciéndole que nunca olvidará el daño que le hizo a su hijo. LUCY vuelve a trabajar de modelo después del aborto. SUE ELLEN afirma que siempre apoyará a J.R.

Ewing Oil is divided into 2 parts once the testament is read. Both BOBBY and J.R. are ready to wherever it takes to get the company´s control. Upon JOCK´s last will, the one of 2 sons who had earned more money with his share of the company all through next year, will be the one and only president of it. ELLIE and PAM are very worried because this situation may remarkably affect the family relationships. On the other side, REBECCA warns J.R. telling him that she will never forget what he has done to her son. LUCY is back to her modeling work after having an abortion. SUE ELLEN claims that she will always support J.R.

J.R. está planeando un falso accidente con el fin de chantajear a WALT DRISCOLL, miembro del Departamento de Control de Tierras, y así conseguir una licencia para extraer más petróleo del permitido. CLIFF es nombrado presidente de la WENTWORTH OIL, pero AFTON habla con él y REBECCA para disuadirles de utilizar la compañía contra J.R. DONNA aconseja a ELLIE que acepte una invitación para comer que ha recibido de FRANK CRUTCHER. LUCY consulta con su abogado los detalles de su divorcio de MITCH. PAM intenta que REBECCA olvide su venganza, temerosa de las consecuencias...

J.R. is planning a fake hit-and-run accident in order to blackmail WALT DRISCOLL, member of the Oil Land Management, and thus achieving a permission to drill more oil than it is usually allowed. CLIFF is named the president of WENTWORTH OIL, but AFTON talks with him and REBECCA to convince them of not using the company against J.R. DONNA advises ELLIE to accept an invitation for lunch from FRANK CRUTCHER. LUCY consults with her lawyer the details of her divorcement from MITCH. PAM tries to make REBECCA forget her revenge, afraid of its consequences...

8/111: "THE EWING TOUCH" ("LA MANO DE LOS EWING")

Después de obtener la licencia, J.R. inicia una campaña de extracción de petróleo de alto rendimiento. Cuando DRISCOLL se entera, viaja a DALLAS para tratar el asunto, pero J.R. se encarga de pagarle unas vacaciones inesperadas. Los petroleros no entienden cómo J.R. puede extraer tanto petróleo, estando el mercado saturado. SUE ELLEN solicita a CLAYTON que sea el padrino de su boda. REBECCA no ceja en su lucha contra J.R., advirtiendo a ELLIE que destruirá a su hijo si da un paso en falso.

“He hecho todo lo posible para acabar con esta enemistad, pero, si quieres pelea, recuerda que otros han intentado luchar con los EWING y han perdido..." – le recuerda ELLIE. BOBBY se asocia con una compañía canadiense en la explotación de unos campos muy productivos. Al mismo tiempo, él y J.R. no ven con buenos ojos al nuevo amigo de su madre...

After getting the permission, J.R. starts a campaign of high-profit oil drilling. When DRISCOLL learns about it, he comes to DALLAS to discuss the issue, but J.R. takes care of paying him an unexpected vacation. The oil men do not understand how J.R. can drill so much crude since the market is saturated. SUE ELLEN asks CLAYTON to give her away. REBECCA keeps fighting J.R., warning ELLIE that she will destroy her son if he takes a false step.

“I've done all I can to stop this feud but, if it´s a fight you want, just remember other people had tried to fight the Ewings and lost!" – ELLIE reminds her. BOBBY becomes a partner of a Canadian company in the exploitation of highly productive fields. At the same time, he and J.R. do not welcome their mother´s new friend...

J.R. y CLIFF se han propuesto la compra de una refinería, cuyo dueño, GIL THURMAN, desea que el petrolero con el que cierre el trato le ofrezca algún tipo de beneficio adicional, además del dinero. AFTON, ansiosa de que CLIFF consiga por fin hacer un gran negocio, acepta acostarse con THURMAN para cerrar el trato de este con BARNES. ELLIE se enfada cuando J.R. le pregunta qué significa para ella CRUTCHER. Poco después habla con este para decirle que cree que va muy deprisa, y rehúsa acompañarle a N.Y. PAM y SUE ELLEN prometen seguir siendo amigas a pesar de la rivalidad de sus esposos. J.R. utiliza a su mujer como anzuelo para THURMAN...

J.R. and CLIFF are determined to buy a refinery, whose owner GIL THURMAN wants to close the deal with some sort of fringe benefit, besides money. AFTON, who is longing for CLIFF to eventually sign a big deal, agrees to sleep with THURMAN to close the deal between him and BARNES. ELLIE gets angry when J.R. asks him what CRUTCHER means to her. Shortly after that, she speaks with the man to tell him he is going too fast and refuses to go with him to N.Y. PAM and SUE ELLEN promise to remain to be friends in spite of their husbands´ rivalry. J.R. uses his wife as a bait for THURMAN...

ELLIE invita a CLAYTON a pasar unos días en SOUTHFORK hasta que se celebre la boda de J.R. y SUE ELLEN. Al mismo tiempo, MICKEY y LUCY sostienen una primera conversación en la que intercambian comentarios sarcásticos. Pero más tarde el joven le pide a RAY que le hable de LUCY. RAY le prohíbe que se acerque a ella, dado lo reciente de su divorcio. JORDAN LEE se entrevista con BOBBY para exponerle todo el daño que J.R. hace a la Ewing Oil y al Cártel. A su vez, AFTON se muestra preocupada porque sabe que CLIFF sigue enamorado de SUE ELLEN. Ambos se presentan en Southfork, creando un ambiente de expectación e intriga...

ELLIE invites CLAYTON to spend a few days at SOUTHFORK until the celebration of J.R.´s and SUE ELLEN´s wedding. MICKEY and LUCY have a first conversation in which they exchange sarcastic remarks. But later on, the young man asks RAY about LUCY. RAY forbids him to get close to her, given her recent divorce. JORDAN LEE meets BOBBY to let him know that J.R. is hurting Ewing Oil and the Cartel. At the same time, AFTON is worried because he knows that CLIFF still is in love with SUE ELLEN. Both of them show up at Southfork, thus creating an atmosphere of expectation and intrigue...

11/114: "POST NUPTIAL" ("DESPUÉS DE LA BODA")

El banquete que sigue a la boda se convierte en una batalla campal porque CLIFF ha ido con la intención de armar camorra. Así, después de interrumpir la ceremonia levantándose de repente, BARNES, decidido a bailar con SUE ELLEN, provoca una pelea que termina con varios invitados en la piscina...Después, BOBBY y el Cártel llegan a la conclusión de que J.R. está negociando con algún país con el que existe la prohibición tajante de comerciar. CLIFF y REBECCA intentan que todos los petroleros se nieguen a tratar con J.R. BOBBY descubre a través de HOLLY que su hermano posee el 25% de la Harwood Oil, la empresa de la joven.

The post-nuptial party becomes a pitched battle because CLIFF is looking for trouble. After interrupting the ceremony suddenly standing up, BARNES intends to dance with SUE ELLEN, but instead, he starts a fight that ends up with several guests falling into the pool water...Thereafter, BOBBY and the Cartel come to the conclusion that J.R. is dealing with an embargoed country. CLIFF and REBECCA are trying to persuade all the oil men into rejecting any business with J.R. BOBBY learns from HOLLY that his brother owns 25% of her company Harwood Oil.

J.R. surprises everyone to announce his plan of buying a gas station chain. BOBBY confirms his suspicions when HOLLY reveals him that they used to belong to Harwood Oil...and J.R. made her sell him to a ghost company he owns. After the last events, BOBBY promises he will also play dirty to get the control of E. Oil. The Ewing annual barbecue becomes the background of an argument between J.R. and the oil men. The oldest Ewing brother is selling very low-priced gas. To avoid further trouble, ELLIE takes a decision: sell out the company...

When ELLIE announces she intends to start a legal process to change JOCK´s will, both brothers come to an agreement. BARNES and the other oil men are studying the way to counteract J.R.´s low prices. PAM decides to help ELLIE to find a solution to JOCK´s will.

“She's going to sell Ewing Oil and give half to a drunk and a cowboy!” – an angry J.R. complains. DONNA finds a strong resistance at the Energy Commission when she wants to stop J.R.'s oil price. AFTON hints CLIFF she wants to wed him. CLAYTON recommends ELLIE an excellent lawyer, BROOKS OLIVER, in case she decides to contest the testament...

ELLIE must take a heroic decision that may hurt JOCK´s memory or destroy the family.

“However much it hurts, I have to overturn JOCK´s will...” PAM is her ally in this situation:

ELLIE also counts on MARK GRAISON, the millionaire for whom lawyer OLIVER exclusively works. J.R. and SUE ELLEN are closer than ever and appear together on a TV show to defend his running of EWING OIL. PAM discovers that MARK is more interested in her than in the will´s contest. HOLLY realizes her company is being managed wrongly by J.R. and turns to BOBBY for advice...

SUE ELLEN descubre la inclinación de MARK hacia PAM y J.R. decide aprovecharse de ello como arma contra su hermano, alentando a MARK para que se gane a PAM. En el juicio para la impugnación del testamento, la familia se divide en dos bandos: J.R. y BOBBY declaran en contra de su madre. Ni siquiera la lectura en voz alta de una carta personal de JOCK a ELLIE cambia el veredicto: el contenido del codicilo seguirá siendo válido...

The possibility of JOCK´s will being annulated upsets ELLIE, since the previous one did not mention RAY nor GARY. ELLIE assures her stepson he will get his share, even on cash, but the foreman cannot admit this charity situation. SUE ELLEN notices MARK´s attraction to PAM and J.R. decides to take advantage of it as a weapon against his brother, encouraging MARK to woo PAM. At the will contest judgment, the family is divided into 2 sides: J.R. and BOBBY declare against their mother. Not even the reading in loud voice of a personal letter from JOCK to ELLIE changes the verdict: the codicil´s contents are still valid...

En Galveston, se encuentra con CLAYTON FARLOW, enojado por la actuación de SUE ELLEN, en complicidad con J.R. para conseguir una refinería que acepte el petróleo Ewing. El Cártel, mientras tanto, accede a los deseos de BOBBY, pero este descubre que GEORGE HICKS, miembro de la Comisión de Energía, está relacionado con J.R. No tarda mucho en deducir que ha sido sobornado por su hermano para impedir que le retiren la licencia de DRISCOLL. HOLLY convence a J.R., a punta de pistola, para que sus relaciones sean estrictamente de negocios:

“Cerdo arrogante...Podría matarte ahora y nunca lo lamentaría. Intenta tocarme otra vez y eres hombre muerto...” Mientras, BOBBY pone en marcha un plan contra HICKS...

ELLIE leaves the ranch for awhile to avoid the family stress. At Galveston, she meets CLAYTON FARLOW, angry with SUE ELLEN due to her alliance with J.R. to get a refinery for the Ewing crude. Meanwhile the Cartel gives up to BOBBY´s wishes, but he finds out that GEORGE HICKS, another member of the Energy Commission, is connected with J.R. He soon guesses that he has been bribed by his brother to avoid DRISCOLL´s permission to be retired. HOLLY convinces J.R., at gunpoint, to keep their relationship as strictly business:

"You arrogant pig...I could kill you now and never regret it. You ever try to force yourself on me again and you're a dead man...” Meanwhile, BOBBY sets up a plot against HICKS...

J.R. niega tener aspiraciones políticas y trata de comprar una refinería, en la que producir gasolina a bajo precio, tras la gran aceptación popular que ha conseguido. REBECCA se opone a esta operación y gasta toda su energía en impedir que J.R. compre la refinería. Al mismo tiempo, J.R. está preocupado por la amistad de su madre con CLAYTON. BOBBY no tiene otra salida que chantajear a HICKS al estilo de J.R. Ello repugna a su conciencia y hace que surjan dificultades con su esposa....

“¿Qué esperas de mí, simpatía? – pregunta ella – bueno, pues no la conseguirás. ¿Que te dé golpecitos en la mano y te diga que eres el mismo BOBBY EWING con que me casé? El BOBBY EWING con que me casé, no habría chantajeado a HICKS, ni llevado a su propia madre a los tribunales, así que puedes seguir sintiéndote sucio...” Cuando CLIFF descubre casualmente las relaciones que sostuvo AFTON con THURMAN, entra en cólera, y sale a emborracharse, ignorando las consecuencias que ello tendrá. Más tarde, AFTON se acerca hasta Southfork con una mala noticia:

“Ha habido un accidente. El avión de la Wentworth se ha estrellado. PAM, tu madre...”

J.R. denies he has political aspirations and tries to buy a refinery to produce low-priced gas, after the massive popular acceptation he achieved. REBECCA fights this operation and invests all her energy on preventing J.R. from buying the refinery. At the same time, J.R. is worried about his mother´s friendship with CLAYTON. BOBBY has no other way out but blackmailing HICKS, J.R.-style. This makes him feel guilty and have trouble with his wife:

“What do you want from me, sympathy? – she asks – well, you're not going to get it. To slap your hand and tell you you're the same BOBBY EWING I married? The BOBBY EWING I married wouldn´t have blackmailed HICKS, or force his own mother into court, so you can just stay dirty!” When CLIFF eventually discovers the fling AFTON had with THURMAN, he goes out on a rampage and gets drunk, ignoring its consequences. Later on, AFTON comes over Southfork with tragic news:

“There´s been an accident. The Wentworth plane has crashed. PAM, it´s your mother...”

CLIFF se culpa de haber enviado a su madre en su lugar, en el avión de la Wentworth que ha sufrido un grave accidente. Antes de morir, REBECCA hace prometer a PAM que protegerá a su débil hermano, que no se entera de lo sucedido hasta la mañana siguiente. KATHERINE regresa de N.Y., avisada por BOBBY, y decide que ha llegado el momento de instalarse definitivamente en Dallas con su familia. Al poco de su llegada, no duda en acusar a CLIFF de inmiscuir a su madre en la lucha contra los Ewing y, por tanto, de ser el culpable del accidente. En Southfork, PAM le da una sorprendente noticia a BOBBY: ha decidido irse del rancho con su hijo para reflexionar.

CLIFF blames himself for sending his mother in his place, on the Wentworth plane that has seriously crashed. Before dying, REBECCA begs PAM to protect her weak brother, who does not know about it until the next morning. KATHERINE returns from N.Y., called by BOBBY, and decides that it is about time to settle down in Dallas with her family. Shortly after her arrival, she does not hesitate to accuse CLIFF of involving their mother in his fight against the Ewings and, therefore, of being responsible for the accident. At Southfork, PAM gives a surprising piece of news to BOBBY: she has decided to leave the ranch with their son.

Para regocijo de J.R. y KATHERINE, PAM deja a su marido y abandona el rancho. J.R. considera el fracaso matrimonial de su hermano como una ventaja de la que se puede aprovechar en los negocios. KATHERINE, por su parte, tiene razones personales para interferir en la vida de su hermanastra. Mientras, LUCY rescata a MICKEY del interior de un bar donde se ha producido un alboroto, naciendo entre ellos una nueva relación. CLAYTON aconseja a ELLIE que olvide los problemas familiares y se preocupe por sí misma. Pero SUE ELLEN ha observado que CLAYTON parece muy distante de ella.

“¿Nunca te diste cuenta de que estaba enamorado de ti?” - pregunta finalmente él. “No tenía ni idea.” ”Encuentro muchas cualidades en ELLIE que creía encontrar en ti.” Finalmente, J.R. le ofrece a su hermano una solución de compromiso que es rechazada:

“Hubo un momento en que podría haber aceptado tu oferta pero no ahora. Te llevo ventaja y te voy a quitar la EWING OIL de las manos...” La guerra continúa...

To J.R.´s and KATHERINE´s rejoice, PAM leaves her husband and the ranch. J.R. considers his brother´s failed marriage as an advantage he can use in business. KATHERINE, on the other side, has personal reasons to interfere in her stepsister´s life. Meanwhile, LUCY rescues MICKEY from a bar fight, thus a new relationship between them begins. CLAYTON advises ELLIE to forget the family problems and care about herself. But SUE ELLEN notices how distant from her CLAYTON has grown now.

“Didn’t you ever realize that I was in love with you?” – he finally asks. “I had no idea.” ”I do find many qualities in ELLIE that I used to think were in you.” Later on, J.R. offers his brother a compromise solution which is refused:

“There was a time when I might have taken your offer but certainly not now. I´m pulling ahead of you in the fight, and I´m gonna whip EWING OIL right out of your hands...”

The war continues...

Los KREBBS son conscientes de que la pelea por el control de la EWING OIL puede perjudicar el futuro de DAVE CULVER en el Senado, ya que el nombre del mayor de los EWING suena como posible sustituto del hijastro de DONNA. Al mismo tiempo, J.R. se asocia con DRISCOLL en un negocio que puede hacerle ganar la compañía...

The relationship between BOBBY and PAM is more and more distant. On one side, KATHERINE is very interested in BOBBY, as MARK is wooing PAM. This situation does not help the couple at all. ELLIE, on her side, is assisting CLAYTON to find a house in Dallas, after selling out SOUTHERN CROSS. The KREBBSES are aware that the fight for EWING OIL´s takeover may hurt the future of DAVE CULVER at the Senate since the name of the oldest EWING is being heard as a possible replacement of DONNA´s stepson. At the same time, J.R. makes a deal with DRISCOLL in a business that may get him the company...

Por su parte, J.R. considera de nuevo la posibilidad de presentarse a un cargo público. SUE ELLEN está muy preocupada porque teme que su pasado pueda perjudicar a su marido en las elecciones. Por otro lado, CLIFF y KATHERINE favorecen tanto como pueden las relaciones de PAM y MARK. A su vez, J.R. amenaza a HOLLY con arruinarla si no coopera con él:

“Estoy harto de oír tus suspicacias cada vez que te ofrezco un negocio”...Mientras que BOBBY tiene su propio aliado en la persona de RAY...

BOBBY gets proofs that J.R. is illegally sailing crude to an embargoed country, therefore he intends to stop J.R.´s Caribean connection WALT DRISCOLL. On his side, J.R. is thinking over the possibility of running for a public service. SUE ELLEN feels worried because her past might damage her husband at the election. On the other side, CLIFF and KATHERINE are easing PAM and MARK´s relationship as much as they can. At the same time, J.R. threats HOLLY with ruining her if she does not collaborate with him:

“I´m getting sick of you looking suspicions every time I come to you with a deal”...While BOBBY has his own ally in RAY...

KATHERINE le ofrece a J.R. toda la información que precise para ayudarle en contra de CLIFF y BOBBY. LUCY explica a MICKEY las razones de su frialdad. ELLIE se da cuenta de que la separación de PAM y BOBBY puede no ser temporal. El Cártel está muy satisfecho con el regreso de CLIFF, gracias en parte a los esfuerzos de PAM y MARK. La presencia de este en el apartamento de PAM provoca el enfado de BOBBY. HOLLY, por su parte, promete a J.R. que se vengará de él, tras descubrir su fracaso...

The fight between the Ewing brothers continues: BOBBY has stopped the Caribbean business even if DRISCOLL has to go to jail. KATHERINE offers J.R. all the information to help him against CLIFF and BOBBY. LUCY explains MICKEY the reasons for her coldness. ELLIE realizes that PAM and BOBBY may not be temporarily apart. The Cartel is very happy with CLIFF´s return, partly thanks to PAM´s and MARK´s efforts. The latter´s presence at PAM´s hotel suite makes BOBBY angry. At the same time, HOLLY promises J.R. that she will make him pay for his failure...

KATHERINE quiere conseguir a BOBBY y le pide insistentemente a MARK que se lleve a PAM a Europa. A CLIFF le ofrecen hacerse cargo del negocio canadiense si BOBBY se echa atrás. Mientras, PAM y BOBBY pasan la noche juntos pero resurgen los viejos problemas a la mañana siguiente. HOLLY hace creer a SUE ELLEN que ella y J.R. son amantes, invitándola a comprobarlo por sí misma: unas manchas de carmín en una camisa destruyen las ilusiones de SUE ELLEN sobre su matrimonio...

J.R. and BOBBY become victims of HOLLY´s and KATHERINE´s plans, respectively, since they are trying to ruin their marriages. On one side, HOLLY makes J.R. go out with her as the first step of her plot. KATHERINE wants to get BOBBY and pushes MARK to take PAM to Europe. CLIFF gets an offer to replace BOBBY in the Canadian deal if he backs up. Meanwhile, PAM and BOBBY spend the night together but the old problems re-appear the next morning. HOLLY makes SUE ELLEN believe that she and J.R. are lovers, and invites her to check it out by herself: some lipstick spots on his shirt destroy SUE ELLEN´s illusions about her marriage...

Tras pasar la noche en la cárcel, J.R. es conducido hasta IGNACIO PÉREZ, su contacto cubano, que ha querido darle una lección y mostrarle lo que le hubiese podido pasar a él cuando DRISCOLL no acudió a su cita en Puerto Rico. Las ilusiones de BOBBY respecto a ganar la batalla contra su hermano se desvanecen a causa de una caja de cigarros cubanos.

“¿Quieres un habano?" – J.R. dice en tono de sorna a BOBBY. Más tarde, este descubre que PAM se encuentra en Francia con MARK según una confidencia de KATHERINE. Allí, PAM se siente molesta cuando topan con unos amigos de Dallas.

“Si en verdad fueras una mujer casada", le dice MARK, "ahora estarías con BOBBY, pero tampoco estás soltera. Vernos atrapados en medio nos está volviendo un poco locos...” Al mismo tiempo, RAY confiesa a su tía LIL que JOCK era su padre. SUE ELLEN comprueba con sus propios ojos la infidelidad de J.R., tal como ha planeado HOLLY...

After spending one night in prison, J.R. is taken to IGNACIO PÉREZ, his Cuban connection, who wanted to give him a lesson and show him what might have happened to him when DRISCOLL didn´t show up at Puerto Rico. BOBBY´s hopes about winning the battle against his brother vanish due to a Cuban cigar box.

“Have a Havana?" – J.R. says mockingly to BOBBY. Later on, he finds out that PAM is in France with MARK upon a confidence of KATHERINE's. There, PAM feels embarrassed when they bump into some friends from Dallas:

“If you were really married - says MARK – you´d be with BOBBY, but you´re not single either. SUE ELLEN vuelve a sus antiguas costumbres cuando descubre a J.R. en el dormitorio de HOLLY. PAMELA regresa de Cannes, alertada por AFTON, para hablar con BOBBY y se encuentra en un dilema, porque no sabe si ayudarle en la lucha por la E.Oil y perderlo para siempre, o no ayudarle y tener la posibilidad de una reconciliación. Al mismo tiempo, SUE ELLEN acude al único hombre que la ha querido, CLAYTON, e intenta seducirle. La inesperada llegada de ELLIE empeora la situación, ya que esta no cree las explicaciones de CLAYTON. De vuelta en Southfork, SUE ELLEN entabla una grave discusión con J.R. Al marcharse en el auto de su marido, MICKEY trata de detenerla sin éxito...

SUE ELLEN falls off the wagon again when she finds J.R. at HOLLY´s bedroom. PAMELA returns from Cannes, warned by AFTON, so she can speak with BOBBY, and is put in a dilemma since she doesn´t know whether help him at the fight for E. Oil and lose him forever or not help him and have the possibility of a reconciliation. In the meantime, SUE ELLEN turns to the only man who has loved her, CLAYTON, and tries to seduce him. MISS ELLIE unexpected arrival makes things worse since she doesn´t believe his explanations. Back at Southfork, SUE ELLEN starts a big fight with J.R. When she drives off his husband´s car, MICKEY tries to stop her unsuccessfully...

SUE ELLEN y MICKEY han sufrido un accidente al chocar contra otro auto en la entrada del rancho. Como consecuencia de ello, el joven queda seriamente herido y LUCY culpa a SUE ELLEN del accidente por conducir borracha. El clan Ewing se reúne en el hospital donde han sido ingresados los heridos. LUCY está muy preocupada porque no le permiten ver a MICKEY, y RAY se arrepiente de haberlo llevado a Tejas desde su hogar en Kansas. CLAYTON culpa a J.R. de la crisis sufrida por SUE ELLEN a causa de sus relaciones con la intrigante HOLLY.

“Vive en un mundo de fantasía donde todo es perfecto - le explica a esta BOBBY-. Prefiere acudir a la botella que enfrentarse con la realidad...” En el hospital, el médico informa a la familia sobre el estado de MICKEY: si logra salir del coma, quedará paralizado el resto de su vida...

SUE ELLEN and MICKEY had an accident when they crashed into another car at the ranch´s entryway. Subsequently, the young man is seriously hurt and LUCY blames SUE ELLEN for driving drunk. The Ewing family gathers at the hospital where the two have been taken. LUCY is very concerned because she is not allowed to see MICKEY, and RAY regrets to have brought him from his Kansas hometown to Texas. CLAYTON blames J.R. of SUE ELLEN´s breakdown due to his affair with scheming HOLLY.

“She lives in a fantasy world, there everything is perfect – BOBBY tells HOLLY -. She´d crawl into a bottle rather than face it...” At the hospital, the doctor reports the family about MICKEY´s condition: if he ever gets out of the coma, he will remain paralyzed for the rest of his life...

28/131: "EWING INFERNO" ("EL INFIERNO DE LOS EWING")

La noticia sobre el grave estado de MICKEY desespera a RAY, que se enfrenta con el Sheriff Washburn. RAY está obsesionado con la idea de encontrar al conductor del coche que provocó el accidente. Mientras, en Southfork, la mujer de J.R. recibe la visita de PAM. SUE ELLEN confiesa a su amiga lo ocurrido. Recurriendo al alcohol como último consuelo, se sincera con PAM:

“Ahora no sé que debo hacer: no podría soportar otro divorcio ni enfrentarme a J.R.” En la Harwood Oil, HOLLY intenta convencer al petrolero para pagarle a plazos los 20 millones que desharán su acuerdo, pero él se niega. PAMELA visita la Ewing Oil para hablar con su marido, que ha ido a ver a MICKEY. Pero es J.R. quien sale a su encuentro:

“Dime, ¿MARK fue el único o probaste a algunos franceses, aprovechando el viaje...?” PAM reacciona pegándole una bofetada a su cuñado y marchándose.

Más tarde, PAM revela a MARK que se siente egoísta por haberle defraudado tanto a él como a BOBBY. Su odio hacia J.R. la obliga a ponerse del lado de BOBBY y votar para cederle la broca de la Wentworth que necesitan sus campos del Canadá. En casa de los KREBBS, LIL se niega a volver a visitar a su hijo:

“¿Qué sucederá si despierta? Si sufre alguna lesión, ya no será mi hijo. Dios me perdone pero quizá hubiera sido mejor perderlo en el accidente...” Mientras, J.R. propone a BOBBY buscar una solución a su rivalidad, ya que ha afectado ya a SUE ELLEN, PAM, REBECCA, MICKEY y ELLIE, aparte de ellos mismos. Entonces, telefonea PAM para comunicarle que piensa votar con KATHERINE para que consiga la broca de la Wentworth. A la mañana siguiente, una deprimida ELLIE es convencida por CLAYTON para que le acompañe en un viaje de descanso. Ajeno a todo esto, WALT DRISCOLL se introduce con sigilo en la habitación del primo de RAY. Tras comprobar que sigue vivo gracias a la máquina de ayuda vital, el hombre rompe a llorar y toma una decisión. En el Edificio Ewing, PAM se reúne con BOBBY:

“Las razones que me llevaron a dejar Southfork no han desaparecido. Nunca más volveré contigo, y me cuesta mucho decir esto porque aún te quiero. Nuestro matrimonio no funciona: quiero el divorcio...” J.R. encuentra a su mujer emborrachándose con una botella de vino de Borgoña e intercambian sarcasmos. Cuando JOHN ROSS llama a su madre desde arriba, SUE ELLEN lanza a J.R. la botella, para impedir que suba. El vino mancha la pared de la escalera, que deberá empapelarse de nuevo...A la mañana siguiente, el doctor administra a SUE ELLEN un calmante que la mantendrá dormida durante más de 18 horas...Sin embargo, J.R. no quiere volver a internarla en un sanatorio. CLIFF estalla en cólera cuando se entera de que PAM se ha puesto a favor de BOBBY y, por tanto, este seguirá con el negocio del Canadá.

“No me hablas de lo que te cuesta, yo voy a divorciarme...”, informa PAM para regocijo de KATHERINE. “No sé si puedo vivir con alguien como tú, CLIFF...” afirma AFTON antes de marcharse...En la comisaría, RAY descubre que el conductor que buscan se ha suicidado: era DRISCOLL, y pretendía matar a J.R. para vengarse. BOBBY se desahoga con KATHERINE, que se ha apresurado a ir a consolar a su cuñado. En SOUTHFORK, J.R. arropa a JOHN ROSS y SUE ELLEN, y da la noche libre a los criados. Entonces, aparece un iracundo RAY:

"¿Estás borracho? " - pregunta J.R. “Estoy completamente sobrio. Y ahora voy a matarte”, advierte él después de contarle lo de DRISCOLL. J.R. le tira un candil encendido que cae sobre unas velas y estas incendian el nuevo papel, ya preparado para sustituir al antiguo. Ellos se enzarzan en una pelea, mientras el fuego se extiende rápidamente por el pasillo y la escalera, alcanzando los andamios de los pintores. Y cuando J.R. deja inconsciente a RAY con el teléfono, descubre atónito que el rancho está siendo consumido por un rápido fuego. La escalera está en llamas, que se propagan hacia arriba...Una vez en el primer piso, J.R. cae al suelo golpeado por una viga desprendida. Abajo, RAY yace sin sentido; en sus dormitorios, duermen JOHN ROSS y una sedada SUE ELLEN, y en el pasillo, rodeado por las llamas, permanece el cuerpo inconsciente de J.R. El Rancho Southfork se ha convertido en un auténtico infierno, el Infierno de los EWING...

The news about MICKEY´s serious condition makes RAY desperate and argue with Sheriff Washburn. RAY is obsessed with the idea of finding the car´s driver who caused the accident. Meanwhile, at Southfork, J.R.´s wife meets PAM. SUE ELLEN confessed her friend what happened. Turning to alcohol as last consolation, she confides to PAM:

“I don't know what to do now: I couldn´t stand another divorce or facing J.R.” At Harwood Oil, HOLLY tries to convince the oilman to let her pay him in installments the 20 million to break up their agreement, but he refuses. PAMELA passes by Ewing Oil to talk with her husband, but he is off to see MICKEY. It´s J.R. the one she meets:

“Now tell me, was Mark Graison the only one...Or did you try a few Frenchmen just 'cause you were there?” PAM reacts to it slapping in her brother-in-law´s face and leaving.

Later on, PAM reveals to MARK that she feels selfish for disappointing him and BOBBY. His hatred towards J.R. makes her stand by BOBBY´s side and vote to give him the Wentworth drill his Canada fields need. At the KREBBSES´, LIL refuses to call on her son again:

“What will happen if he wakes up? If he is damaged, then he won´t be my son anymore. God forgives me, but maybe we´d better have lost him at the accident...” Meanwhile, J.R. offers BOBBY to find a way out to their fight, since it has affected SUE ELLEN, PAM, REBECCA, MICKEY, and ELLIE, apart from themselves. Then PAM calls and tells him that she will vote with KATHERINE to let him get the Wentworth drill. The next morning, a depressed ELLIE is convinced by CLAYTON to go with him on a resting holiday. Unaware of all this, WALT DRISCOLL sneaks into RAY´s cousin´s room. After seeing that he is still alive through a life-support machine, he breaks into tears and makes up his mind. PAM meets BOBBY at the Ewing Building:

“The reasons that made me leave Southfork are not gone. I´ll never go back to you, and it´s very hard to me to say this because I still love you. Our marriage isn´t working: I want a divorce...” J.R. finds his wife getting drunk with a bottle of Burgundy wine and they exchange sarcasm. When JOHN ROSS calls his mama out from upstairs, SUE ELLEN throws the bottle onto J.R. to stop him to go up. The wine is spread all through the staircase wall, which will have to be papered again...

The following morning, the family doctor supplies SUE ELLEN a sedative that will make her sleep for more than 18 hours...Nonetheless, J.R. doesn't want to commit her into a sanitarium again. CLIFF gets angry when he is told that PAM is backing BOBBY and, therefore, he will able to go on with the Canada deal.

“Don't talk to me about cost..I'm getting a divorce...!”, PAM reports, rejoicing KATHERINE.

“I don´t know if I can live with someone like you, CLIFF...” says AFTON before running out...At the police station, RAY finds out that the driver they´re looking for has killed himself: it was DRISCOLL, who intended to kill J.R. as a revenge. BOBBY opens his heart to KATHERINE, who has rushed to her brother-in-law´s side in order to console him. At SOUTHFORK, J.R. wraps JOHN ROSS and SUE ELLEN up and gives the servants the night off. Then, comes up a raging RAY:

"Are you drunk? " - asks J.R. “I´m cold sober, and I´m gonna kill ya!”, he warns after telling him about DRISCOLL. J.R. throws a fire poker to him that knocks over a candle, igniting the new wallpaper, ready to replace the former one. They start to fight as the entryway and the staircase is set ablaze, reaching the painters´ supplies. When J.R. knocks RAY out with the phone, is amazed to see that the ranch is consumed by a quick fire. The staircase is in flames, and they are setting the upstairs floor too...Once he is on the first floor, J.R. is knocked down by a girder falling down. Downstairs, RAY is lying unconscious; in their bedrooms, JOHN ROSS and a sedated SUE ELLEN are sleeping, and in the corridor, surrounded by the flames, lies J.R.´s body. The Southfork Ranch has become a real inferno, the EWING Inferno...
