February 4, 1983: Pam Ewing lost on "Dallas" her prodigal mother Rebecca Wentworth, who had got into her jet instead of her son Cliff and crashed into another plane when it was taking off. Then, boom! Pam doubled her worth in dollars. As J.R. would say later: "That Barnes woman has the ability to increase her fortune by doing nothing". In the same episode, Bobby turned to his darker side when blackmailed politician George Hicks in order to stop J.R. from drill and drill. They were fighting for Ewing Oil, as old Jock wanted in his will, and the fight cost Pam not only her mother, but also her marriage: the next episode, she left Bobby and Southfork for umpteenth (and not the last!) time. Also, Cliff was happy to see that his Mama was as obsessed with J.R. as he was, and Pam lectured Bobby when he confessed her his latest dirty trick. The dead character was the "Wentworth Grandmother" who was mentioned in the last instalments of the TNT´s "Dallas", and her testament divided her company Wentworth Industries (not Global) in two shares, not three, as the new writers assured for their own convenience.

28 de abril de 1985 (en Cataluña): Pam Ewing perdía en "Dallas" a su madre pródiga Rebecca Wentworth, que había subido a su avioneta en lugar de su hijo Cliff y se estrelló con otro avión cuando despegaba. Entonces, ¡boom! Pam doblaba su valor en dólares. Como diría J.R. más adelante: "No he visto a nadie como esa Barnes, que tenga la habilidad de aumentar su fortuna sin hacer nada". En el mismo episodio, Bobby usaba su lado oscuro al chantajear al político George Hicks para impedir que J.R. extrajera petróleo sin parar. Libraban la batalla por la Ewing Oil, tal como el viejo Jock quería en su testamento, y ello le costaría a Pam no sólo su madre, sino también su matrimonio: en el episodio siguiente, abandonaba a Bobby y Southfork por enésima (aunque no última) vez. Además, Cliff se alegraba de ver que su madre estaba tan obsesionada con J.R. como él, y Pam le daba un discurso a Bobby cuando él le confesaba su delito más reciente. El personaje fallecido era la misma "Abuela Wentworth" mencionada en los últimos episodios de la nueva "Dallas", y su testamento dividió su empresa Industrias Wentworth (no Global) entres sus dos herederas, no tres, como los nuevos guionistas aseguraron por conveniencia.
