FREEZE FRAMES 1

Esta sección está dedicada a una de las características más famosas de las supersoaps:

las "freeze frames" (o imágenes congeladas).

Esos últimos segundos de los episodios que solían preceder al nombre del productor y al fundido en negro, y que a veces eran tan imprevisibles como los mismos argumentos. Hubo un tiempo en que J.R. era el rey de las "freeze frames", pero, a partir de la 5ª temporada, eso empezó a cambiar. Incluso una puerta cerrada o personajes muy secundarios (¡incluso Jenna!) ocuparon ese lugar, pero justo después de la expresión divertida y a la vez malvada de Larry Hagman, siguió ese legendario y solemne retrato del mismo patriarca Ewing: Jock Ewing. Su imagen fue la única que apareció con las fechas de su nacimiento y muerte.

¡Esto va por ti, querido Jock / Jim! ¡Cuántos episodios quedaban todavía por delante!

the freeze frames.

Those last seconds of the episodes that usually precede the producer´s credits and the fade out, sometimes became so unpredictable as the plots themselves. There was a time when J.R. was the king of freeze frames, but from Season Five on, that began to change. Even a closed door or minor characters (imagine, Jenna!) hit the last frames, but right after Larry Hagman´s joyful, wicked face, came that legendary, solemn portrait of the Ewing patriarch itself: Jock Ewing. His image was the only picture that appeared with his birth and death dates.

This is to you, dear Jock / Jim! How many more episodes were to come yet!
