CONGRATULATIONS to the Pioneer Football team on their BIG VICTORY this past Fridaynight! Congratulations to all the band members who represented his/her class as a homecoming representative!
Color Guard Parents will meet TOMORROW @ 5:30 in the band room to prepare for theSaturday contest. If you need additional details contact Miss DeDe.
Guard warm-ups MUST BE PAID FOR BY TOMORROW. They are going to be embroidered and will only be embroidered if they have been paid in full. EACH GUARD MEMBER MUST HAVE A WARM-UP! If everyone doesn't have one then they will NOT be worn at the game this Friday.
DRINKS ARE DUE BY TUESDAY! We have to order what we don't have by Tuesday so help our profits by sending your drinks and putting them under the table with your child's name on them.
FRESHMEN-2-12 PACKS OF MOUNTAIN DEW; SOPHOMORES-2-12 PACKS OF PEPSI; JUNIORS-2-12 PACKS OF DR. PEPPER; SENIORS 2-12 PACKS OF EITHER DIET DR. PEPPER OR DIET PEPSI. ALL PRODUCTS MUST BE PEPSI AND NOT GENERIC.
Division II State Scholarship Applications for Seniors MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THIS TUESDAY! LATE APPLICATIONS ARE NOT CONSIDERED.
We play FB @ Union City on Friday. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. All students must be in their seats for immediate departure @ 5:30. All RIDE HOME FORMS ARE DUE NO LATER THANTHURSDAY @ 5 P.M.-NO EXCEPTIONS. Due to the fact our contest is Saturday, Mr. Hughes and Mr. Brewer have both agreed we can leave after half-time. AFter we perofrm at half-time, we will march tot he buses, change, load and depart for GC so students can have a good night's sleep before Saturday.
Our Contest is SATURDAY @ GC! We need everyone's help to make this HUGE FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR THE BAND. Contact Kim Todd to find our how you can help. Students have to be in their seats Saturday @ 7:30 a.m. (if they are a band runner for Lewis Co., they will have to be in front of the school @ 7:15 a.m.) with their khaki shorts, polos (TUCKED IN), and tennis shoes. We will clean and set up the campus for the contest and unload the truck at 7:30. The gates and concession stands will open at 8 a.m.! The first band is scheduled to arrive at 7:30. Students will be assigned certain jobs in which they are expected to work at throughout the day. Students will be released from their jobs @ 3 p.m. to travel to the band room to dress for our performance @ 4:15. Warm-up for our performance begins @ 3:30outside the band room in warm-up area B. Immediately following our performance, students will present trophies for preliminary awards. After awards students will travel back to the band room to change out of uniforms and load them back onto the truck. GC Band students (only-not for parents/siblings please) will have pizza provided to them by the boosters (cafeteria). All students will resume their previous jobs after eating. If a student is assigned a band that does NOT make finals, they are expected to report the the concession area to help. ALL band students will meet on the front sideline at 10 p.m. to present finals' awards trophies. Immediately after the finals' awards, students will have to clean up the campus and get it back to the same shape it was before the day began. After the campus is clean, students will be dismissed (~11:30-12:00 midnight). Thanks in advance for all of your efforts to make this day a HUGE SUCCESS!
Boston Butts will be available to be picked up behind the vocational building between 7-8 a.m. If you sold a Boston Butt, please be there to pick it up when you drop off your child.
In an effort to conserve as much parking as possible, we ask everyone TO CARPOOL IF POSSIBLE. When you arrive @ GC, ALL PARENTS, STUDENTS AND STAFF will park at the Equine Center (gravel lot) @ the back of the school.
The next band fee payment of $30 is due THIS TUESDAY (OCTOBER 1) as part of the fee payment plan. Please make this payment and all payments in a timely manner so we can pay our bills on time.
Upcoming Dates:
October 11th-14th - FALL BREAK! NO SCHOOL!
Friday, October 11th - FB vs. Peabody (7:30 pm) - We will NOT take buses to this game! All students will be expected to meet behind the Peabody stadium at 6:15 to dress and unload the truck! No ride home forms will be required for this game.
Saturday, October 12th - Davy Crockett Parade (2:00 pm) followed by the Union City Marching Invitational. All times are still TBA for this Saturday.
Monday, October 14th - FALL BREAK! NO REHEARSALS! Both guard and percussion sectionals will take place on that following Tuesday (15th) from 5-6 with the normal hornline sectionals.
