A Huge thank you to everyone who gave to the Facebook giving event for the mass band!!! We needed $13,000 dollars and we surpassed that on day 3!!
Monday - Composite Pictures
Tuesday - Christmas Tunes
We will also record our Christmas Parade Tune
Wednesday - Sectionals over Christmas Music
Thursday - Learn and review mass band drill.
Friday - Christmas Music Run then outside to march parade tune
Band Composite picture will be taken tomorrow during band class. Any middle schooler who was in marching band can come and be in the pictures. We will start at 1:30. This is the only time that these can be taken and there will not be a make-up day. We will be in uniform for these.
The deadline for you to sign your waiver is DECEMBER 1ST!!!!!! If you miss this deadline then you will not be allowed to march in the Rose Parade!!! The deadline to upload your Vaccination Card is DECEMBER 10th, no later!!!
If you are going to be absent from any mass band rehearsal, I need to know beforehand. We need everyone there as time is limited on putting this together not to mention the work that it takes to march 6 1/2 miles.
All-West music is posted. Follow the link at the bottom or come see me before class starts. Your $10 registration fee is due by this Friday Dec. 3rd.
Remember IF YOU OWE A DEBT, these need to be paid before we get out for Christmas, or they will be turned in to Mr. Hughes!!!
As the fall semester is coming to a close I would like to remind you that we grow the most during concert band. We play much more difficult music during this season and we want everyone to succeed. With that being said, if you are going to be in marching band next fall then it would be wise to be in concert band in the spring. Your scale test (final exam) will determine you chair placement for next fall's marching show.
Make sure that you have signed up for an ensemble that you would like to participate in for the spring. The final sign-up day will be this coming Friday. Remember that you do not have to be in concert band in the spring to participate in these ensembles.
If you have signed up for lessons with Mr. Congiardo, those will begin this Thursday. We will sign-up for times tomorrow, bus riders need to be the first ones to sign-up.
Anyone interested in attending the UTM honor band in January needs to come and see me tomorrow so that I can send you the link to register.
Fundraising:
As of this moment Fruit will be in on December 10th.
I have not received a delivery date for the Nuts yet.

Dec. 4th - 2nd Rose parade rehearsal 9am-3pm, Dyer Christmas parade 5pm be there at 4:30
Dec. 12th - Christmas Concert GCHS theater @ 2:00pm. Students in band room at 1:15.
Dec. 9th - Band Final Exams Begin!
Dec. 17th - Dismiss at 11:30 CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!
Dec. 27th - Leave for California!!
Jan. 27th - 29th - UTM Honor Band
