Rehearsal Schedule for the week:

  • Monday - Jazz Band- 3:15-4:30 - Theater

  • Tuesday - Percussion Ensemble - 5-8 - Theater

  • Wednesday - Woodwind Ensemble/Low Brass Ensemble - 3:15-4:30 - Theater/Cafeteria

  • Thursday - Concert - 6:30 - Theater - Students MUST be on stage in concert attire no later than 5:45!

Announcements:

  • This is our CONCERT WEEK! Be sure students are in class each day and are in every ensemble's after school rehearsal!

  • We will run the full concert both Wednesday and Thursday this week during class time so students will need all equipment for all ensembles both of these days.

  • THIS THURSDAY is our Classical Concert for ALL members of the concert band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, and low brass ensemble! The concert will begin at 6:30 in the theater! The concert is FREE and open to the public. Students will be required to be on stage dressed in concert attire (NO jeans, tshirts, tennis shoes, or shorts ALLOWED!) at 5:45. This is a performance grade for all concert band members! Invite your friends and family out for a great night of great music by great students!

  • Solo/Ensemble is THIS SATURDAY @ North Side HS in Jackson! Our performance block time is 9:30 am. All students need to be at North Side NO LATER THAN 9:00 to warm-up. Students can provide his/her own transportation or ride the bus that will be at the high school at 8:15 for immediate departure and will return after everyone is finished performing. Remember students MUST have his/her solo PERFORMANCE READY(I or a II rating) when Mr. Mayhall/Mr. Agee/Myself hears your student this week or they will NOT be allowed to attend the event! Attire for the event is concert attire! Students must have a judge's copy of their music with measures numbered along with a judge's form (provided on the table in the band room this past Friday).

  • Attached are the bus lists for the upcoming NY Trip. If you have issues with the bus list contact Ms. Sharon ASAP!

  • Don't forget about the Final Documents/Information Meeting for the NY Trip is NEXT MONDAY NIGHT (5th) in the library!!! Attendance is HIGHLY encouraged if you have ANY questions about the trip. Remember from 6-6:30 we will have notaries on hand to notarize your medical forms (see attached). ANYONE going on the trip MUST have a notarized release/medical form in order to board the bus on March 15th! NOTE: You and your student MUST bring an ID in order to have the document notarized! The meeting will begin promptly at 6:30. I will meet with all chaperones in the conference room immediately following the meeting in the library.

  • Continue to recruit for next year's band! If you have questions or run into issues with parents/students, please send them my way. I want EVERY student who wants to be a part of the high school band to have that opportunity and will do my best to work out any issues one may have to make that happen!

Upcoming Dates:

  • Monday - March 5th - Fall 2018 Color Guard Clinics BEGIN - Information forms are located in the band room/main office at the high school and all middle schools! Any student interested can see myself, Mr. Agee, or Mr. Mayhall for additional questions/details.

  • Tuesday, March 6th - Middle School Concert @6:30! Let's come out and support the future of this band program! This concert is also worth concert lettering credit if attended.
