Announcements:
  • Thanks to all those who made the trip down through this past Saturday to Memphis!  We had a great representation to help cheer on our kids!  We didn't have our best performance but yet finished STRONG (3rd in class in guard, 2nd place in class band, highest General Effect in class AAA, and 9th overall out of 22 bands!) among some very tough competition!
  • Thanks to all those who did their part in the selling of Yankee Candles!  We made ~$2000 on this fundraiser.  Orders should arrive in ~3 weeks!
  • Tomorrow we will begin our next New York Trip Fundraiser.  We will be selling Rada Knives.  All orders + $$$ will be due by Monday, November 2nd.  All profits will go towards the November 3rd NYC Trip Payment.
  • On Friday we have our final home game for the season vs. McKenzie @ 7!  This is a special night for seniors as they will recognized for their efforts/achievements as a member of the GC Band over the last 4 years in a special ceremony held at 6:30.  This will also be our seniors last time to perform for their hometown crowd at a football game.  We hope that many of you will come out and support our band seniors on Friday!  Students must be dressed and in their seats at 5:30!
  • On Saturday we will travel to Austin Peay State University for the Midsouth Marching Invitational!  This is a HUGE contest!  The competition line-up has been full since August with the maximum of 23 bands filling out the roster!  Once again we find ourselves among some very tough competition.  Attached is the preliminary line-up of bands.  This is a prelims/finals event with class winners and the next six highest scoring bands regardless of class of class competing in the finals that evening!  We will meet at 9:00 am to leave for immediate departure to Clarksville.  Students need to have eaten breakfast BEFORE they arrive that morning.  The boosters will feed the students immediately following prelims regardless if we make finals or not.  Students will need money for lunch in the stadium (~$10/student).  Our detailed itinerary for the day is attached to this email.  Ride home forms for Saturday are due NO LATER THAN 3:00 pm on Friday!  NO EXCEPTIONS!  The admission price for prelims is $10 and another $10 for finals.  I hope that many of you will make the drive up to Clarksville, sit together, and cheer on this great group of students at their next to last competition for the 2017 marching season!
  • Room money for state ($53.64 for 6 in a room, $64.37 for 5 in a room, and $80.46 for 4 in a room) is due NO LATER THAN NEXT TUESDAY!  We have to have our check to the hotel next week so we need EVERYONE to pay their room money by next Tuesday!
