  • ​Here's hoping each of you had a great, relaxing Spring Break!

  • What a great trip to Disney! We have some fantastic students who were top-notch during the entire trip! Thanks to everyone who made the trip possible. A special thanks to Tina Gray, Donnie Cox, Chasity Langston and all those who helped them in organizing and raising money for the kids to be able to go on this trip. They made memories on this trip they will remember for a lifetime!

  • We begin preparing for the Teapot Parade and Strawberry Festival during class TOMORROW! Students will always need appropriate shoes/clothing to go outside during band class. Not having the proper materials for class will result in a lowering of their rehearsal grade for the 2nd nine weeks.

  • Jazz Band meets TOMORROW from 3:15-4:30 in the band room.

  • Fall 2014 Color Guard Clinics resume TOMORROW from 3:30-5:00 in the main gym. Each girl needs to bring their $40 audition fee (CASH ONLY) to the clinic TOMORROW!

  • Fall 2014 Percussion Audition Clinics begin TOMORROW from 5-8 p.m. in the band room. Each student interested in auditioning for the battery or front ensemble for the fall MUST ATTEND ALL CLINICS AND AUDITIONS.

  • Students who are involved in Jazz Band and auditioning for the Percussion Section will leave Jazz Band 15 minutes early and arrive to percussion 15 minutes late which will give then an hour to leave and get something to eat.

  • Fall 2014 Drum Major Auditions will be THIS TUESDAY @ 4 p.m. in the band room!

  • The band calendar for the spring has been updated on the website (https://gchsmarchingpioneers.org) check it out for all upcoming dates!

  • We will have a Band Booster Meeting NEXT MONDAY (14th) @ 7 p.m. in the band room. Topics to discuss: banquet, freshman orientation, fireworks, etc. Come be a part!

  • ALL lettering credit is due NO LATER THAN NEXT TUESDAY (15TH)! If things are turned in late, students will not receive his/her letter or pin at the banquet.

  • Memory Book balances will be due soon! Stay tuned for a list of students who ordered a memory book and how much they still owe!

  • Parade Band Rehearsals begin April 22! Remember any band member who is not in concert band (unless involved in a major spring sport) MUST return for parade band in order to attend the Band Banquet on May 9! See the calendar on the website for a complete list of parade band rehearsals.

  • We have several band students participating in the Theatre Department's Production of "Aladdin" this Thursday throughSunday. See any cast member to purchase a ticket to see this play and support the arts!
