Wow! What a cheering section we had this past Saturday night at Martin! Thanks to all of you who traveled to UTM to help cheer on the band. The kids did a terrific job!
Good luck to the sophomores taking the plan test on Tuesday!
Boston Butt Orders + Money are due THIS WEDNESDAY! Each student is asked to sell at least 2 butts or get $25 in donations. Make every effort to do your part to make this a great fundraiser! Butts will be available to pick up the morning of our contest from 7-8 ambehind the vocational building.
Parent/Teacher Conference is this Thursday (3-6) & Friday (9-12)! Each of you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to come and meet with each of your child's teachers to see how they are doing in each of their classes. Unfortunately I will not be available on Thursday afternoon due to the band's rehearsal schedule. Feel free to email or call me if Friday morning doesn't work for you and you are concerned about your child in band.
Friday - NO SCHOOL!
Friday night is homecoming vs. Fulton Co. @ 7:30. Homecoming activities will begin at 7:00. Students will have to be in their seats dressed in full uniform at 6:00.
Saturday - NO CONTEST! Enjoy your Saturday off but come out and support the percussion section with their car/truck show in the back parking lot of the school @ 11:00. If you know of someone who has a car/truck that they want to show off at the show please invite them to come. Contact Tico for more information.
OUR CONTEST IS NEXT SATURDAY! Rest up so we can all pull together to make this event A HUGE SUCCESS! We need everyone's help to make this event possible. Please contact Kim Todd ASAP if you haven't volunteered to help and she will get you plugged in. We still have spots open and we need YOUR HELP if you have not volunteered yet.
We need each student to bring his/her drinks NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1ST so we know what we need to buy for the contest.
Don't forget students are asked to bring drinks between now and the week of the contest to help offset costs. The drinks are: FRESHMEN-2-12 PACKS OF MOUNTAIN DEW; SOPHOMORES-2-12 PACKS OF PEPSI; JUNIORS-2-12 PACKS OF DR. PEPPER; SENIORS 2-12 PACKS OF EITHER DIET DR. PEPPER OR DIET PEPSI. ALL PRODUCTS MUST BE PEPSI AND NOT GENERIC.
Guard warm-ups must be paid for in FULL in order for the members to receive their warm-ups when they come in this week!
State Scholarship Applications for Seniors are due no later than October 1st! If you were at the contest on Saturday and saw the UTM Band....fill out this scholarship application and you GET PAID $$ to have fun like they did Saturday each and every day! Music major or not there is money to be had. Don't miss out on this GREAT OPPORTUNITY!
