THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! to any of you who had any part of making this a great weekend/Monday for these kids!!! You guys were rocking on Saturday (even in the rain)! A special THANK YOU goes out to our chaperones and pit crew for all of the tireless hours that you have spent with these kids over the last few months! We couldn't do what we do without your help!
CONGRATULATIONS! to Kaitlin Crews, Brent Jones, Kelly Landrum, Eva Olivares, Taylor Pannell, and Madelyn Powell for receiving college scholarship offers totaling more than $300,000 this past weekend at Division I State to various universities! This just shows you that music will pay for itself if you stick with it!
Fruit/Nut Sales began TODAY! This is our 2nd largest fundraiser of the year behind our competition! If this fundraiser goes well it is very possible that we will not have to sale ANYTHING else for the rest of the school year! The only other fundraiser that we will have will be the "Stew Lunch" in the spring. Each student is asked to sell at least $60 worth of fruit/nuts or get $30 in donations. There will prizes of $100/$75/$50 for the top 3 sellers. All orders + money are due NO LATER THAN MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH!
Composite Pictures will be taken on Friday during band class time. Any 8th grader wishing to be included in this picture that will hang on the band room wall for years to come will need to be in the band room at the 1:15 class time. We will take individual shots with everyone wearing their uniform. These shots will be available for you to order just like school day pictures are and these will make up the composite that will be on the band room wall for years to come.
Concert Band begins NEXT MONDAY! All students will be expected to have his/her concert horn IN WORKING CONDITION ready to play on Monday!
