Announcements:

  • Everyone should have received his/her shirts that they ordered for the St. Louis Trip. Contact Kim Todd ASAP if you did not.

  • Jazz Band will have their dress rehearsal TOMORROW from 3:15-4:30 in the band room.

  • Fall 2017 Guard Auditions are TOMORROW from 3:30 until 5. All students' parents who make the line for next year will have a MANDATORY meeting immediately following the auditions in the library. The auditions are closed and no one from the outside is allowed to attend the auditions.

  • Parade Band Rehearsals on Tuesday AND Thursday of this week from 3-5. All parade band members are REQUIRED to attend!

  • Concert Band Members will play off "Amazing Grace" MEMORIZED at Tuesday's rehearsal!

  • Non-Concert Band Members will play off BOTH the parade tune and "Amazing Grace" at Tuesday's rehearsal.

  • Jazz Band will host the Porch Swingin' Event THIS TUESDAY @ 6:00 pm at the Rutherford Cabin (behind Rutherford School). The event is FREE and open to the public. All jazz band members must be there dressed in proper attire at 5:30. Remember to bring your lawn chairs and come out for a night of great music!

  • All Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion signed forms are due THIS FRIDAY or students will NOT be allowed to march in the parade on Saturday!

  • The band banquet is THIS FRIDAY NIGHT @ 6:30 at First Baptist Church in Dyer! The attire is business casual. Advanced ticket is REQUIRED! The last day to purchase a ticket was this past Friday. We will begin the evening by eating a catered meal by Northside Market in Milan followed by the recognition of many of our students' accomplishments from this past year and then conclude the evening with the announcement of next year's show/student leadership and a DVD presentation highlighting our past year while paying tribute to the Class of 2017. I hope you will join us for this special night!

  • Memory Books will be handed out at the door on Friday night for those who have paid their balances in full!

  • Teapot Parade is THIS SATURDAY @ 10 in Trenton! I hope many of you will line the street of Trenton to help cheer on the band. We are the next to last band in the parade. Students will meet at Peabody Place Apartments (across from Trenton Elementary) at 9:15 in full uniform (uniform, hat, black socks, theme shirt, marching shoes, gloves). NO BUSES will travel to the parade. I will be in the band room from 8:30-9:00 for students to pick up any equipment they might need for the parade and will return for ~30 minutes after the parade is over for students to bring any equipment back. All uniforms MUST be returned to school by Monday!

  • Remember all debts MUST be paid off in full for a senior to receive his/her diploma after graduation or a student who is not graduating to attend the 1st June rehearsal. If a student is not returning to band and has a debt, the debt will follow them until they graduate and diplomas will be held until the debt is paid in full.

Upcoming Dates:

  • May 9th & 11th - Parade Band Rehearsal (3-5)

  • May 10th & 11th - Senior's Final Exams

  • Friday, May 12th - Strawberry Festival - 10:00 - Downtown Humboldt - We will meet @ 8 am in the band room for immediate departure to Humboldt. Students are REQUIRED to ride the bus to the parade.

  • May 12th-13th - St. Louis Trip - Ride Home Forms for this trip MUST be turned in by Thursday, May 11th!

  • Monday, May 15th - Band Freshmen Orientation - 6:30 - Band Room - Any student who is announced as a student leader for next year will be REQUIRED to be at this event at 6. We will need parents to help serve that night.

  • Thursday, May 18th - NEW YORK TRIP KICK-OFF MEETING! 6:00 pm - Library! All parents/students/family members interested in the trip NEED to attend this very informative meeting where we will joined by the President of our travel agency who is handling all of the details of our trip! DON'T MISS THIS IMPORTANT MEETING!

  • Friday, May 19th - Graduation - 6:00 pm - All non-graduating concert band members are REQUIRED to attend to play at graduation! We will meet at 5:15 in concert attire.

  • May 23rd & 24th - Final Exams

  • May 24th - Last Day of School (1/2 day)
