Great concerts were performed this past Saturday by all those selected to participate in the 2014 UT Martin Honor Bands!
Jazz Band rehearses TOMORROW (wind players only) from 3:15-4:30. We will rehearse in the band room.
Our next Pep Band Performance will be THIS TUESDAY NIGHT at the GC vs. Union City game @ 6 p.m.! This is NEON NIGHT so band students can wear something neon or GC attire to the game. All students must be in the band room in their seats and ready to warm-up @ 5:15. This is a MANDATORY performance for all concert band members.
Percussion Ensemble will rehearse THIS TUESDAY AND THURSDAY from 5-7:30 in the band room. Only non-concert band members will rehearseTuesday due to the game.
Remember the FINAL PAYMENT for the Disney Trip is due by February 15 to Thomas Tours in Nashville. Our room list has to be finalized to Thomas Tours by then as well so be sure Thomas Tours knows who your (parents) rooming arrangements. Mr. Tate will take care of the student room sign-ups. We have a final documents meeting with a TT representative in March. Stay tuned for the exact date and time.
WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH OUR UPCOMING STEW LUNCH! Contact Amy Thornton @ thorntona@gcssd.org or thethornton4@gmail.com to sign up to bring ingredients for the stew, help with preparing the stew on either Friday or Saturday, and/or bring desserts for the auction.
Please help us advertise the annual Stew Lunch at the Central Firehouse on Saturday, February 8th. See the attached flier for exact details and times. It is always a great fundraiser for our band! Band students will be STRONGLY encouraged to attend if possible to help serve, set-up and clean up.
University of Memphis Honor Band selections should be available in the next week or two. Memphis Honor Band will be February 13-15.
Our next Band Booster meeting will be Monday, February 10 @ 7 p.m. in the band room. Please make plans to attend!
