Rehearsal Schedule for the week:
Monday - Guard Sectional (3-5); Low Brass Sectional (3:15-4:30); Percussion Sectional (5-8)
Tuesday - Full Band (3-5); all other hornline sectionals (5-6)
Thursday - Full Band (3-5)
Friday - FB vs. Adamsville @ 7:00 - Home - Senior Night! Students will have to be dressed at 5:30
Saturday - Midsouth Marching Invitational - Austin Peay - We will meet at 9:00 for immediate departure
Announcements:
Thanks to all those who made the trip down through this past Saturday to Memphis! We had a great representation to help cheer on our kids! They put on a great show and finished STRONG (1st in class in guard, percussion, and band and 7th overall out of 26 bands!) among some very tough competition!
Congratulations to Maddie Welch for being awarded a $1000 scholarship this past Saturday to the University of Memphis! This just goes to show you that if you stick with band it will payoff in the long run for college!
Thanks to all those who did their part in the selling of Yankee Candles! We made ~$2000 on this fundraiser. Orders should arrive in ~3 weeks!
On Friday we have our final home game for the season vs. Adamsville @ 7! This is a special night for seniors as they will recognized for their efforts/achievements as a member of the GC Band over the last 4 years in a special ceremony held at 6:30. This will also be our seniors last time to perform for their hometown crowd at a football game. We hope that many of you will come out and support our band seniors on Friday! Students must be dressed and in their seats at 5:30!
On Saturday we will travel to Austin Peay State University for the Midsouth Marching Invitational! This is a HUGE contest! The competition line-up has been full since August with the maximum of 25 bands filling out the roster! Once again we find ourselves among some very tough competition. Attached is the preliminary line-up of bands. This is a prelims/finals event with class winners and the next six highest scoring bands regardless of class of class competing in the finals that evening! We will meet at 9:00 am to leave for immediate departure to Clarksville. Students need to have eaten breakfast BEFORE they arrive that morning. The boosters will feed the students immediately following prelims regardless if we make finals or not. Students will need money for lunch in the stadium (~$10/student). Our detailed itinerary for the day is attached to this email. Ride home forms for Saturday are due NO LATER THAN 3:00 pm on Friday! NO EXCEPTIONS! The admission price for prelims is $10 and another $10 for finals. I hope that many of you will make the drive up to Clarksville, sit together, and cheer on this great group of students at their next to last competition for the 2016 marching season!
Room money for state ($49.10/student; $294.60/chaperone room) is due NO LATER THAN NEXT MONDAY! We have to have our check to the hotel by next Wednesday so we need EVERYONE to pay their room money by next Monday!
The last band fee payment for the year will be due NEXT TUESDAY (1st) in the amount of $30.

Tuesday, November 1st - Full Band (6-9) in the stadium; Band Fee payment is due!
Thursday, November 3rd - Full Band (6-9) in the stadium
Friday, November 4th - Full Band (1:30-4:00) in the stadium; Depart for state at 4:30
Saturday, November 5th - DIVISION I STATE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS! Riverdale High School - Murfreesboro, TN - We perform at 1:30 in the preliminary competition. I hope all of you are planning to make the drive up for State!
Sunday, November 6th - Return home from State!
