· Hopefully everyone has had a great week off!!!
· Rehearsals resume THIS WEEK! We have rehearsal on both Tuesday and Thursday nights this week from 6-9 p.m. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
· The band room should have new carpet by Tuesday. I need all section leaders/captains/drum majors at the school by 5:15 to get everything set up for rehearsal at 6.
· Student schedules can be picked up at the school on Tuesday, July 30 (12:30 -3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m.) and Wednesday, July 31 (12:30-3:00 p.m.) in the main gym. If you are unable to pick up a schedule during these times, student’s can receive their schedules on the first day of school, August 7. A student/parent ONLY can pick up his/her student schedule! After schedules are picked up, each student needs to be sure he/she is registered for Marching Band during 4th block for the fall. If students are going to Disney World in the spring, they MUST be registered for both marching and concert bands. See a guidance counselor for any changes that need to be made.
· St. Louis Cardinal Ticket donations are due THIS TUESDAY at rehearsal. Contact Tina Gray for more information.
· We will rehearse next Tuesday (6-9 p.m.) and Thursday (after school 3:15-5:00 p.m.).
· Apparel orders and money are due no later than NEXT TUESDAY, AUGUST 6. If you need another order form, check the band website under last week’s announcements.
· Tico will be hosting “A NIGHT OF DRUM CORP” in the theatre August 9 for $1 per student. This will give your child a chance to see the “best of the best” in the activity of drum corp. Contact him TODAY if you want to sign your child up @ mcmworkingman@gmail.com
· Percussion Fees ($85) or shirt sponsors (4) are due no later than next Tuesday night, August 6.
· All color guard members MUST purchase a new pair of guard shoes this year due to a color change in the shoe. These shoes are $28 per pair. This amount is figured into the “new” girls fee but is not figured into the “old” girls fee. Make arrangements to take care of this BEFORE they will be issued their shoes in early September.
· Trailer Sponsorship Forms and money need to be turned in ASAP!
· You can begin to pay for your student’s polo ($15) and/or band shoes ($34) for this upcoming year. Checks should be made out to the GC Band and put in an envelope with your child’s name on the front and what the money is for also written on the front. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THIS WITH YOUR MERCHANDISE ORDER!! The will not receive these items until full payment has been made.
· The first payment for the Disney Trip is fast approaching. This payment ($150) is due to Thomas Tours no later than August 15. This payment reserves your spot on the trip so be sure this is taken care of by the 15th if you or your student is planning to attend the trip in the spring.
· Preview Night will be here before you know it! It will be August 22 @ 6 p.m. in the stadium. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, etc. Tickets will be $5/person and will go on sale soon!
· The Dodge Booster Drive will be the same night, August 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the main entrance of the school. The band receives $20 per person who test drives a care. Please encourage everyone coming to the preview show to arrive a few minutes early to test drive a car to help support the band!!!
· The first memorization test over the opener (“Mad World”-“Psycho”) will be Monday, August 12 during band class. The memorization grade makes up 33% of the student’s grade for the nine weeks so be sure they are starting to memorize the music NOW!
· The next band booster’s meeting will be Monday, August 12 in the band room @ 7 p.m. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend!
