Announcements:
Tomorrow is our Ballad memorization test. Reminder that tests must be passed to be able to march.
As our first performance is this Thursday, we need to address MISSING REHEARSALS. For you to be able to march for a performance you must be at rehearsal and complete 2 run throughs of the show each week. If you have questions, see me.
Band polo $$$ is due this week. These are $17 and students ordered them during June rehearsals.
Preview night is this Thursday at 7. Meals can begin to be picked up in the cafeteria at 6:30. Tickets for people wanting food are $7. Find your nearest band member to purchase tickets. We will wear our polo and khakis only for our performance this Thursday.
A company has designed us a vintage poster for our show. They will have around 60 of these for sale at preview night. These are really cool and a copy is attached. Do not post this anywhere as it's not public right now. If you want one I believe they are $20. They can also make these into shirts and those will also be available at our competition.
Senior banner picture $$$ is due this Friday, not later. Cost is $75
At this time all band fees should be paid. If you are behind and needing to set up a payment plan, please see myself and Mrs. Brooke.
This week we continue our after-school rehearsals. You need to come prepared the same way you did during band camp. We do not have as many hours in rehearsal, so we need to be prepared to get better at each rehearsal.
You need your water jug at every rehearsal. This is a must as we will not be using cups.
You will also need your rehearsal shirts. These should be paid for by now. The order for how to wear these is as follows:
Tuesday - Band wears Blue ; Guard wears Red
Thursday - Band wears Red; Guard wears Blue
Friday football games - Band Blue under uniform; Guard - Guard Shirts or uniforms
Saturday Competitions - Band Red under uniform - Guard - Uniform
Failure to wear the correct color or not wear your shirt at all will result in laps. BE PREPARED EACH DAY!
Make sure you wear tennis shoes on rehearsal days or bring them with you.
Guard will practice tomorrow 3:30-5:00, percussion will practice 5:00-8:00. This means they will leave at 5:00 on Tuesday. There is no shuttle bus for Monday rehearsals.
Reminder that once we start memorization tests, if you do not pass your test that first time then you will have a week to pass for a higher grade. After that your grade will be left as is if you did not pass, but you must "pass" to be able to march. You will stand on the sidelines at all performances until you have passed the tests.
Make sure that you have watched the YouTube videos to be prepared for body warm up and opening body. When we post a video please do not post it to any Facebook page. All of our music and things are copyrighted and so it can only be done with our permission.
Make sure you stay up to date with our band calendar!
Remember ALL theme and spirit shirt orders are due Monday, August 22!
Make sure that you have downloaded the Band app and have joined our class. This is taking the place of remind. We will not be using remind anymore. https://band.us/n/a4a5687fZfyag
