Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to work the concession stand in the tournaments thus far! Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and I appreciate your willingness to help. I know that you can't keep the popcorn cooked fast enough but everyone always brags on how well the concession stand runs when the band is in charge of it. Remember those who have signed up for the upcoming dates! Contact Wendy Tate with any questions or concerns.
Thanks to all those who been at the games supporting the teams and the pep band! What a great atmosphere at GC it's been over the last week! Both teams advanced to the Regional Tournament which will begin this Friday/Saturday nights!
Jazz Band meets TOMORROW from 3:15:430 in the band room!
All doughnut orders + money are due THIS TUESDAY!
Percussion Ensemble will meet on Tuesday and Thursday of this week from 5-7 in the band room!
GC Lady Pioneers will play host to West Carroll this Friday night in the Quarterfinal round of the regional tournament at GC! More information will be coming this week as to if/who/when the pep band will be playing at the game. The boys will play away on Saturday night so we will NOT play at that game.
Attached is a list of possible tournament games/dates that the pep band may be asked to play it. Disregard my marks on it. All dates are still a possibility except this Saturday night (27th) which will be an away game for the boys.
We have an after school rehearsal scheduled for NEXT TUESDAY (1st) from 3-5:00 in the theatre. This rehearsal is MANDATORY for all concert band members!
The classical concert that was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd has been rescheduled to Monday, March 7th due to the Regional Boys Basketball Championship game being held on the 3rd. The concert will still be at 6:30 in the theatre. This is a MANDATORY performance grade for all members of the concert band!
NEXT SATURDAY (5th) is Solo/Ensemble Festival @ North Side in Jackson! Our performance time is 10:00 am! Students will need to be at North Side no later than 9:30 to warm-up. Students can ride a bus from GC or provide his/her own transportation to Jackson. Those riding the bus, the bus will leave GC at 8:30. We will begin listening to students NEXT WEEK and if we don't think they are prepared then we will NOT allow them to attend the festival so make sure your student is practicing his/her music!
The POSSIBLE contest DATES (NOT THE CONTESTS) have been listed on the calendar on the band's website (http://gchsmarchingpioneers.org) so you can start planning your schedules accordingly for the fall! We will have more definite information after the school district releases its calendar.

Monday, February 29th - Jazz Band Dress Rehearsal (last rehearsal before the concert) - 3:15-4:30 - Theatre
Tuesday, March 1st - Concert Band After School Rehearsal - 3:15-5:00 - Theatre
Wednesday, March 2nd - The FINAL Gatlinburg trip payment is due to Thomas Tours!
Saturday, March 5th - Solo/Ensemble - Jackson North Side - Time: 10:00. Students need to be there no later than 9:30. The bus leaves GC @ 8:30.
Monday, March 7th - Classical Concert - 6:30 - Theatre - FREE! Students will have to be there at 5:45 dressed in concert attire!
Monday, March 7th - Fall 2016 Color Guard Audition Clinics BEGIN - 3:30-5:00 - Main Gym - Information regarding the auditions will be available soon! Mr. Brockman/Mrs. McMinn will have information at the middle schools for the middle schoolers who are interested. Be sure if you know of anyone in grades 8-11 in our side of the district who is interested in getting involved that you share this information with them!
