Announcements:

• • A BIG THANK YOU to all those who came out yesterday to help work on the band practice field! It was a huge success! We got 4 tons of sand spread across the entire field in 2 and a half hours right before the rain hit. This will be a huge help in developing a good marching surface that hopefully can be maintained throughout the season because of yesterday's work. We could not have done it without your help! A huge thanks to Robin Frances for agreeing to head up this project even though his kids have graduated! We will still need to put some dirt down in a low area on the field once it dries out some and lay some sod so if you were not able to help yesterday maybe you'll be able to help the next go around.

  • Here is the link to the band's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/273967556115889/. It is a closed group but if you simply ask permission to join it will be granted. All photos from yesterday's "practice field work day" have been posted by Ms. Maureen Crews! Feel free to add pictures to this page as you take them during the year as well. This is a site you will want to visit often to see photos throughout the year!

  • The GCHS Band Color Guard will be having a YARD SALE fundraiser on the front lawn of Gibson County High School in Dyer on Saturday, June 6th from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you have any items you would like to donate, the last drop off date will be behind GCHS on Friday, June 5th (5-7PM). We will gladly take any items you no longer need to help raise money for our next band season. Come support our huge yard sale on June 6th!

  • Only 1 more week before we kick off this 2015-16 Band Season! I hope your student is preparing by practicing his/her music!

Upcoming Dates:

• Monday, June 8th - First Band Booster Meeting of the 2015-16 Season @ 7:00 pm in the band room - Come be a part of this great organization!

  • June 9, 16, 23 - June rehearsals - 6-9 pm - Attendance is REQUIRED for at least 2 out of the 3 rehearsals in order to secure a spot in next year's field show! Attendance is ENCOURAGED at all 3 if possible. All forms (5 total) and the first band fee payment of $35 is due at any of these rehearsals.

  • June 9-23 - Peaches Fundraiser! Each student will be asked to sell at least 4 (1/4 bushels) or get $30 in donations. More information will be sent out next week!

  • June 9-23 - Optional Boston Butt Fundraiser! More information will be in next week's announcements.

  • July 6-10 - Percussion/Guard Camp - 8:00-4:30 - Attendance is MANDATORY!

  • July 8-10 - Fundamentals Camp (FULL BAND!) - 8:00-11:30 - Attendance is MANDATORY

  • July 13-17 - Full Band Camp - 8:00am-DARK - Attendance is MANDATORY!
