October 14 SOLES WALK FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION/ANNUAL FUNDRAISER
Hello St. Rita Parents and Students,
Fall is an exciting time here at St. Rita's! The students are hard at work in their classrooms and we are enjoying the cooler weather. Preparations have started for a number of fall events as well - the Catholic Schools walk on October 14th and the fall festival here on October 27th.
One of the activities associated with the Catholic Schools walk is the "Money Wars." Each class donates extra change and the class with the largest total will have a pizza party with extra recess, the second highest class gets a movie and popcorn, and the third highest class will get ice cream. Please register online for the walk (see attachment) if you are able.
We have had a number of out of uniform incentives recently - please be aware that students should still wear sneakers on out of uniform days for safe participation in phy ed and recess. We would also appreciate if you can reinforce expectations around dress code topics - please no artificial fingernails at school!
The parent association put together a wonderful video demonstrating parking lot etiquette. It is very important that we DO NOT BACK UP in the parking lot, as children can be crossing behind cars. I hope we continue to be respectful of each other and the students during drop off and pick up. If you find yourself in a hurry at drop off or pick up, I would encourage you to look into before/after care, even just for 15 minutes a day (which would be less than a dollar for 15 minutes!).
Please note there are a couple of days coming up when we will not have school. September 22nd, October 5th, and October 6th. November 2nd is an early release day, and November 3rd is no school for conferences.
Please continue to reach out to your child's teacher with individual concerns. St. Rita teachers go above and beyond for their students! Teachers have been posting class announcements in Class Dojo, which is a good way to send a quick note when needed if you need information.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Beth Woodward

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are in need of volunteers to help with lunch supervision between 11-12, especially on Thursdays. Please email bwoodward@sienacatholicschools.org if you are interested in helping, even one day per week.
Many helping hands build community and lightens the work load.
In addition to day-to-day activities, we are always open to new members and ideas for our Royal Parent Student Association. This is a parent-led volunteer organization that organizes recognition and fun activities as well as supports the school’s need for extra hands in a variety of ways.

Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!

Rita's Parish website is: https://www.st-ritas.org/
The "News & Events" menu has the events scheduled for the parish.
The "Welcome" page also has an "Upcoming Events" list with a link to the "News & Events" page.
The link to the bulletins is on the "Welcome" page as well.
The St. Rita Dinner Club is a great way to meet new people from church and school while also getting better acquainted with those you already know.
12-14 adults are grouped together and dine out at various medium-priced restaurants. There are group leaders who will coordinate and communicate the dates of the gatherings once a month. Our first dinner gathering will be in October.
This is a very flexible club…just come when you can!
If you are currently in a group from last spring no need to sign up again. We will keep you on our list. Any questions and for signing up, please contact:
