Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. As we embark on the new year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the wonderful events and activities we have planned for our school community.
We are eagerly looking forward to Catholic Schools Week, which will include our Open House at the end of the month. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our faith, our community, and the exceptional education we provide here at St. Rita Catholic School. Please see our attached schedule of events for more details.
Our dedicated teachers are currently finishing up STAR testing with the students. I am thrilled to announce that those students who meet both of their goals will be rewarded with a pizza party at the end of next week. This is a great way to celebrate their hard work and achievements.
Please note that our teachers will have an inservice day on Monday, and we will begin the third quarter on Tuesday, ready and enthusiastic to welcome your children back to school. We have a lot of momentum going into the second half of the year, and we are committed to making it productive and enriching for all our students.
Next Wednesday, we will be filming a video about our Catholic identity. There will be a few extra people in the building as we showcase how we infuse our teaching with a solid basis in faith. We are excited to share this aspect of our school with a wider audience.
We continue to be grateful for our wonderful parents, for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement and encouragement make St. Rita’s a special place, and together we can ensure that our students thrive academically, spiritually, and personally.
Wishing you all a blessed and joyful start to the new year.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita Catholic School

We encourage students to bring one fresh fruit or vegetable each day to donate to Layla's Harvest & Hope.
6th and 7th grade students dressed up as we celebrated the Math Hoops NBA and WNBA draft. The students portrayed coaches and chose a team of players based on real statistics. Now they will start playing in a round robin tourney to determine placing. Stay tuned for updates. The top team goes to regionals to play at Fiserv Forum.
The After School Learning Lab kicked off its first week with math tutoring and science labs. Our first lab…slime, of course. But this was Chemistry by trial and error! Students tested different ways to make slime using borax or glue or saline solution or corn starch. It was truly the scientific method at work. Next…3D printing!

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
