Greetings,
I cannot tell you what a fantastic week we had! I do hope the pictures and stories from celebrating St. Rita to the longer lunch period and our afternoon carnival bring you just as much joy. We have just a few weeks left and as I continue to share, still much learning ahead.
I am looking forward to the Spring Musical. Mr. Scaffidi has been practicing with your children on the risers all week. They sound awesome! You will note the important date section is getting shorter and shorter.
Lastly, keep in mind that we have the next couple of weeks in OOU. Our 8th graders have their own OOU days and 3K-7 are on a specific OOU schedule. Please keep in mind.
And, it is getting to be a very exciting time for our Class of 2022. They are eager to be promoted and head out the door for their new adventures. I do hope you have been reading their profiles in Class DOJO.
Thank you for bringing in clothing for our Uniform SWAP Day!
This coming weekend we observe Memorial Day for all men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country serving in the U.S. military.
Jesus tells us this is the ultimate act of love:
"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."
I have friends and relatives who served in the military I give a lot of credit to anyone who enlists knowing that at any given moment they could be put into an armed conflict. Thank you to all that are serving and have served for your tireless efforts in defending our country. Students-please take a moment to ask your parents/guardians who served in military. Perhaps spend some time with them this weekend to learn about their service to our country.
Before I close, I would like to remind us all to take a moment and tell your children how much you love them. Every child is a gift from God and while they may challenge us they are all uniquely made by God for a purpose in this life. This past week was horrific, heartbreaking and painful no child, family or community should ever have to go through the senseless act of violence that occurred. Please take time to pray for the families, community and our world for their grief and sorrow to be carried in God's hands and for healing within their community.
Enjoy this beautiful weekend.
Blessings,
Dr. Sue

Are you ready to enjoy beautiful music? Join us on Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30pm.
Students must arrive no later than 6:15pm. They need to report to their child's classroom teacher or homeroom teacher for grade 6-8. After their pieces, students will be returned to their classroom. They will be under the supervision of a staff member until the end of the concert. If you need to pick up your child after their songs, we kindly ask that you leave the gym in between songs so that you do not disrupt others singing.
Students are encouraged to dress up for the performance. Each grade level will perform two selections. Students are expected to attend the performance, and if there is a conflict, parents need to contact
Mr. Scaffidi nscaffidi@sienacatholicschools.org as soon as possible.
Watch for your child's Star Reading and Math Test Reports to come home today. Star Assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs) for pre-K—12 students that measure Reading, Math, and Early Literacy skills. The teacher can then use the assessment results to monitor student progress and inform teaching. The test is administered 3 times a year (fall, spring, and winter). The report coming home summarizes your child's scores on the test. As with any test, many factors can affect a student's scores. It is important to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how your child is doing in school. The reports are yours to keep. They do not have to be signed and returned to school. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Pick up (take what you can use) – All items donated/dropped off will be sorted by size and placed on tables outside the school gym doors on Tuesday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 2nd from 7:45am – 3:30pm. The uniform tables will also be available AFTER the school spring concert in the gym on June 1st.

Hello St. Rita families!
Summer is right around the corner but we are still staying busy and active in P.E. Middle school just finished working on their frisbee skills and have started their final unit of the year which is baseball.
The elementary and primary grades were busy working on their striking skills using balloons and pool noodles and just finished working on their jump rope skills. They are now busy moving their hips working on their Hula Hooping skills!
I wish everyone a very happy, safe and active summer!
