It is hard to believe we entered into the month of September. What an exciting time to think, fall is on the horizon. We have an amazing Royal Parent School Association committee that meets once a month. They are a dynamic group of parents who are committed to St. Rita's and making the school community a great place for learning, fun and faith! We invite each of you to join this committee. The State takes a look at our exact enrollment by who is IN SCHOOL ON THIS DAY and awards funding. St. Rita's has excellent daily student attendance.In keeping with our on target daily attendance rate, we would love to have 100% of our students in school on Friday, September 16. We do understand that unexpected illnesses may happen at any time. This day will also kick off our first official Out of Uniform Day. Students love these OOU days! Please refer to the Handbook within this newsletter or your hard copy that was sent home regarding proper OOU day attire (page 56-57). And, further down will explain the OOU style.
We would like to invite you to our ALL SCHOOL MASS on September 18 at 10:30AM Mass, St. Rita's Catholic Church. Students who attend will receive and OOU pass to be used either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of that week.
We are starting to organize some student after school clubs. Two will be starting up soon! Art Club and St. Rita's Spirit Dance Club. Stay tuned.
Just a reminder, no school on Monday, September 5. Please enjoy the longer weekend in celebration of Labor Day.
A heartfelt thank you for following all of the drop off and pick up procedures. I cannot thank you enough for getting your students to school on time too. It is so nice to see everyone in their classrooms by 8:10 eager to learn.

Students may be OOU on Friday, September 16. They may dress in casual school clothing, their style as long as they follow the OOU rules on pages 56-57 in the Student/Staff/Family Handbook. This Handbook is also in this newsletter as a quick reference.
On behalf of Father Michael and our Religious Education Team, I like to personally invite all of you to our Welcome Back Mass on September 18th at the 10:30 Mass. Father Michael will give the staff of the school and our Catechists a blessing for this upcoming year!
IF YOU and YOUR child attend Mass, students will be issued an OOU pass to wear on M, T, or Wednesday of the coming week. (September 19, 20, 21).

Siena is seeking assistance for managing a Siena booth at Party On the Pavement (September 17).
Students in grades 7-12, adults, and parents/guardians with students in those grades to volunteer.
Shifts are only two hours each!
All are welcome to attend.
Volunteers will help visitors with crafts and games, hand out candy, and just be great ambassadors for our schools.

The purpose of this notice is to share that in our Uniform Policy (page 55) it states that shorts, skirts and/or dresses/jumpers should be no more than two inches above the knee. Many of the students have grown taller over the summer and we would like for everyone to take this long weekend to double check your child(ren) shorts, skirts, dresses/jumpers for proper coverage. Please let us know if we may assist in any manner.

Thursdays from 3:30-4:30PM.

If your child is not picked up by 4:30, they will be brought to the after school program.
On behalf of Father Michael, he would like to invite our families to a Town Hall meeting with parents/guardians of children enrolled in St. Rita's.

Time: 5:00PM.
The meeting will take place in the Church and the focus of the meeting will center on the discussion regarding community.
The topic of conversation will focus on a brief history of the school and the new relationship it has following Siena’s the integration of Siena Catholic Schools of Racine.
Father Michael would like to pose the question, as Catholics, How do we re-enter into the process of rebuilding the community?
Altar Servers were Ella P. and Javier A from seventh grade . Eight Grade led Mass this week.
Siena offers Before and After Care for families. Please review the BASC brochure for more information on the program.
The Before and After School Care 2022-2023 hours of operation are from 6:30 to 8:05 am and 3:10 to 6:00 PM.
A $50 per family fee will collected prior to attending BASC. If not collected, the fee will be billed with the first use of services. This fee is for all families that use BASC. Checks can be made payable to the school or Siena Catholic Schools.
Hourly Rate per child: $3.75/ hr (3K-8th), Fees will be charged in 15-minute increments.
Billing is done through SMART Tuition. If a family has an existing SMART account for paying tuition, BASC Billing is done through SMART Tuition. If a family has an existing SMART account for paying tuition, BASC charges will be added to their monthly bill. Choice students will have a SMART account created for them and BASC charges will be billed monthly and due on the 28th of the following month. SMART Tuition will charge a $40 late fee for payments not received by the 28th. Cash or checks can be paid in the school office. Families that have unpaid charges may not be eligible to continue using the program.

We are excited to celebrate another season of St. Cat’s football! Before cheering our Angels onto victory, Siena will be hosting a pre-game tailgate event on September 2. Spots are limited, so register today! Your registration will include a free ticket to the game, entry into a special raffle, games, prizes, snacks, and so much more!
A hard copy of the online version handbook is in one of your child's book bag (if you have more than one child). One Handbook per family went home Friday, August 26. Please check your child's back pack. Please review/read and return the signature sheet at the back of the Handbook to YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER. If you have multiple children, all signatures go on the signature sheet and return back to one (1) of your child's teachers. Thank you in advance for reviewing, reading, signing and returning!

For the 22-23 school year, the FDA will not be covering the cost of breakfast and lunch for school children. It is very important that you take a moment to complete the National School Lunch Program application to secure benefits for the upcoming school year. Once the application is processed, you will receive a letter in the mail stating the benefit received or if the application was denied, the reason for the denial.
