Greetings,
Well as I look out the window, I am not sure if we have entered Spring! However, as I walk around the school, there are definite signs of Spring. Check out the fun pictures. Guess they old saying is "April showers bring May flowers." Perhaps soon we will see those beautiful flowers bloom!
Holy Week, is the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, observed with special solemnity as a time of devotion to the Passion of Jesus Christ. The name Holy Week was used in the 4th century by St. Athanasius, bishop of Alexandria, and St. Epiphanius of Constantia. Holy Week is celebrated from Sunday, April 10 to Sunday, April 17 in 2022. It is my prayer that you participate in one or more events throughout the week with your family.
We are looking forward to our fabulous 4th grade class, demonstrating the Live Stations of the Cross on April 6. They have been practicing for several weeks and we look forward to joining them in the Church.
Forward exam testing has been going well. We are in the midst of make-up exams for those students that have missed portions of the exam. Results do come back to us by October and as soon as these are distributed to the schools, we will send you the parent copy.
As we near the final stretch of our Lenten journey, on behalf of the staff, I would like to wish each of you a very Happy Easter. May this coming Holy Week be one of spiritual growth and connection to God who gave up his life for each of us so that we may remain in Him in order to receive salvation.
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
Blessings,
Dr. Sue

As a result of the wonderful Seroogy's Chocolate sales, the RPSA has approved the money earned toward purchasing cameras for our students to use in order to capture the many wonderful events happening in the school, playground equipment and potentially supporting after school clubs for the 2022-23 school year. In addition, we will be purchasing a new RORY the Lion!

Our "Sugar Rush" LAB was a study into chemical and physical changes.
After learning about flavor enhancers and how they pertain to Chemistry, students measured the mass of trail mix and separated it to depict physical change. Part 2 was understanding chemical changes by making S'mores. I know it sounds like a tough day in science, right? Measuring food, observing food, cooking food...but rest assured...the students were happily eating their lab results at the end of class.
Kindergarten is very fortunate to have a teacher candidate from UW Parkside, Mrs. Due who loves to do brain breaks with the Kindergarten stduents.
It’s such a joy to have 8th grade tutors!
In art, our 8th graders are working on painting their bricks! This is the most requested project by the class. Only 8th graders get to take part in this activity and leave behind a piece of art after graduation. Our younger friends are working on mastering animals - and I've got to say, they're doing a fantastic job! Their projects have so much character and bring a smile to your face. Happy creating!

Our Royal Student Ambassadors are excited to work on a project that will benefit St. Rita's mission of Living, Loving and Learning our Faith. This is a long term project that will go into the following year...we are looking for donations whether financially or maybe a bench even for us to use.
Who: The Royal Ambassadors, 4th- 8th graders, donors from St. Rita’s Parish
What: A “buddy bench” designated to connect students interested in playing with someone or making a new friend.
Where: The bench will be placed on the large playground. The solicitation for material or financial donors may be at the fish fry on tables or in the church bulletin and the school newsletter.
When: The bench could be completed by the end of the year with a dedication assembly and instruction at the beginning of next school year.
Why: To give students an opportunity to demonstrate compassion, kindness and friendship. The bench would make it easier to notice who could be invited to join a game or see the chance to connect with someone new. Ideally, no one should be sitting on the bench longer than a minute.
How: Donation maybe a bench or a donation of money/ materials so that the Royal Ambassadors may design and paint the buddy bench. The bench will be dedicated at an all school assembly next year with specific instructions to have no one sitting on the bench for more than a minute alone.
Students who have participated in any Sport for St. Rita School this year will be having a banquet on Thursday, May 12th, 5:30 PM- 7:30PM.
The banquet will be held at the school gym.
