Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well as we settle into the new school year. I have several important updates and reminders to share with you.
STAR Testing Next Week
Starting next week, our students will be participating in STAR testing. This assessment is invaluable for our school as it helps us understand each student’s academic progress and areas where they may need additional support. The data we gather from these tests allows us to tailor our instruction to better meet the needs of all our students.
Welcome Back Mass
We are excited to invite you to our Welcome Back Mass on September 15th at 10:30 a.m. This will be a special occasion where students can say goodbye to our beloved custodian, Mr. Geoff, who has been a cherished member of our community. We hope to see you there to celebrate the start of the school year and to bid farewell to Mr. Geoff and to meet other families from the school.
Uniform Policy on Fridays
Please remember that students are still required to wear their uniforms on Fridays. We are not transitioning to spirit wear just yet. Your cooperation in ensuring that students adhere to the uniform policy is greatly appreciated!
Catholic Schools Walk
Mark your calendars for the Catholic Schools Walk on September 21st at the Siena Center. Our Parents’ Association has been working diligently to secure corporate sponsors and design a special t-shirt for our students. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and support our school. The funds raised from this event support learning by funding field trips and materials for our students.
Morning Drop-Off Safety
We have noticed that some students are arriving at the school doors before 7:35 a.m. and running from their cars. This is a safety concern as staff are not outside to supervise before 7:35. Please ensure that your children remain in the car until it is safe to drop them off.
Before Care Procedures
A reminder that students must be accompanied by a parent and signed in for before care. Students cannot enter before care without a parent signature. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and accountability of all our students.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and giving us the opportunity to help build their potential. We are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all our students.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

Welcome Back Mass
St. Rita Parish would like to welcome all school families back for another fun and successful year. Be sure to join your St. Rita family for the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, September 15 at St Rita Parish. Students are encouraged to wear St. Rita uniforms to show their school pride. There will be refreshments and a time to mingle with your fellow school families and parishioners. If your child is interested in playing an active part in the Mass, please fill out the form and return it to school with your child.
Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
Monthly Outdoor Rosary
Please join us in praying the Rosary outdoors. We will meet monthly from May to October on the 13th of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Rita statue on the St. Rita grounds (near the parish office doors). Our next Rosary will be said on Friday, September 13. Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!
We hope to see you at St. Catherine's High School athletic events this year! Here are some reminders about ticket purchasing for the 2024-25 season.
