Dear St. Rita Families,
As we look ahead to the Thanksgiving break, I want to share a few important updates and extend my gratitude for your continued partnership.
Forward Exam Results
Paper copies of your child’s results from last spring’s Forward exam will be going home this week. Families received digital copies via email over the summer, but we are now providing a paper version for your records. If you have any questions about these results or how to support your child’s growth, please feel free to reach out.
Ongoing Service Projects
Thank you for your incredible generosity this season. Donations for several initiatives are still underway:
The Giving Tree continues through December 9th.
Advent Basket donations are being collected now.
Cereal Box Drive from our Royal Ambassadors runs until Monday.
Your support helps our students live out the values of service and solidarity with those in our community who are in need. We deeply appreciate the conversations you’re having at home that reinforce these values.
Athletics Reminder
A reminder that athletic practices are for student athletes and coaches only. This policy is in place for student safety as well as insurance requirements. Families are warmly invited to attend games and tournaments, and if you are interested in becoming more involved, please consider volunteering as a coach for a future season.
Donuts with Grownups
Thank you to everyone who attended Donuts with Grownups on Wednesday! It was wonderful to see so many families spending time together, and your presence helped make the event special.
Attendance & Truancy Letters
Truancy letters for students with 5 or 10 absences will be going home soon. At this point in the school year, a 10-day letter indicates that a student has already missed 17% or more of their school experience. We understand that many absences are unavoidable, and our goal is to work collaboratively with families to support student success. If you receive a 10-day letter, please reach out to me so we can talk through a plan together.
Giving Thanks
As we enter Thanksgiving week, I want to wish all of our families a restful, joy-filled break. Thank you for entrusting your children to our care each day. We are grateful for your partnership, your support, and the vibrant community you help create here at St. Rita.
Warmly,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita Catholic School
Dismissal Reminder
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during dismissal. A special thank you to all parents who wait for the “slow” sign before driving forward at the end of the day. For everyone’s safety, please do not move your vehicle until you see a teacher display the “slow” sign. Your attentiveness helps keep our students safe. It is normally just a three or four minute wait from dismissal until the “go” signal.
Uniforms on Fridays
Please remember that students should wear their regular uniforms on Fridays. Our Spirit Wear Fridays will begin after Thanksgiving. We’ll share more details as we get closer to that time.
During the Winter months, students are required to wear pants, skirts/jumpers with Black, navy, or white leggings only. No shorts should be worn until March 16th.
Gifts are due Tuesday, December 2nd

We are delighted to share the amazing success of this year's Book Fair! We had a wonderful turnout and are especially thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible support, we were able to fulfill the entire wish list for our teachers!
A massive thank you goes out to every single volunteer who helped run the fair. Your dedication and hard work—from setting up and assisting shoppers to organizing books—made all the difference. This achievement is a testament to the generous spirit of our school community.
Thank you for making this year's Book Fair a fantastic success!
The school successfully reached and surpassed its $15K goal for our St. Rita Royal Walk thanks to the community's efforts. The Money war played a crucial role in this achievement, with the donations from that event being added to the Walk contributions, which ultimately pushed the total funds raised past our goal.
The successful fundraising for the Walk was a testament to the community's hard work and support.
The Family competition for the walk wrapped up on November 7th. The winners are
1st Place : Bohman's ($1,355)
2nd place: Grandke's ($1,005)
3rd Placce: Kapellusch's ($600)
Our top Class winners for the Money War are
1st grade: $241.82
3rd Grade: $224.83
8th Grade: $111.91
Thank you to everyone for all the hard work and support on this year's walk. If anyone took photos at the walk event , please post them on the Parents Facebook Page or email them to Hilary Lowman at lowmanh@outlook.com.
Forms are due Monday, December 8
Our First Grade students embarked on a special journey today with Father Joseph, who personally guided them through St. Rita Church. They were fascinated to learn about the various parts of the sanctuary, from the Baptismal Font where we begin our faith journey, to the sacred Altar, and even the special vestments Father wears. The students were truly engaged and absorbed so much knowledge! To show their gratitude, they later spent time drawing wonderful pictures of what they learned to send to Father Joseph.
This camp is open to students in grades kindergarten- 8th grade.

Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others!
