1/3 Classes Resume
Dear St. Rita Families,
Your young learners are doing amazing things in their classes! Class dojo is a great way to see some of the interesting projects and activities in your child's classroom. I especially enjoyed seeing the second graders make and explain their dioramas with different landforms this week. The music classes are preparing for our winter concert, and the students have been incorporating the season changes into their art projects.
As many of you may have heard, our art teacher Maggie Rogan is not coming back from her maternity leave. We have found an amazing new art teacher who will start on Dec. 11th, Susane LaCanne. She is eager to share her love for art with your children. With a background in graphic design and teaching at a technical college, she brings a unique perspective to the classroom. Art has a special way of inspiring and expressing creativity, and she's committed to creating a supportive space where every student can explore their artistic talents while embracing our faith values. She looks forward to embarking on a creative journey together filled with inspiration and growth!
As we work to continuously improve our instruction and accelerate our students' learning, we have noticed that many students could benefit from extra practice with math facts practice (basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication). We are looking for safeguarded parents who have half an hour a week to volunteer to help us do this practice in grades 1-8, which may be as simple as doing flashcards or manipulatives with a very small group of students. If you have 30 minutes to spare, please contact your child's teacher. The students and teachers would benefit from any time you can give.
Next week we have school just two days before Thanksgiving break. Students are invited to wear spirit wear with uniform bottoms on Monday and spirit wear with jeans or uniform bottoms on Tuesday. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy time with family!
There will be no newsletter next week due to a short week.
Warmly,
Beth Woodward
