Dear Families,
We are so grateful for the wonderful start to our school year! Thank you for your partnership and support—it truly makes a difference. A few important reminders and upcoming events:
No School – Friday, October 3rd
There will be no school on Thursday, October 3rd. Our teachers will be spending the day learning more about the Catechism of the Catholic faith and reflecting on how we can bring our beliefs to life in the classroom.
Middle School Events
Donuts with Grownups – Wednesday, October 1st, 7:00–7:30 a.m.
This event is for middle school students and their families. Today is the last day to RSVP with your family count. If you are attending, please park in the overflow lot or the furthest back row of the main school parking lot so we don’t interfere with morning drop-off.
Field Trips & 6th Grade Retreat – Week of October 6th
Middle school students will have field trips, and our 6th graders will attend their retreat. These experiences are wonderful opportunities for reflection, growth, and team building.
Custodian Appreciation Day – Wednesday, October 2nd
Please join us in showing gratitude for our custodian, Mr. Keith Williams, who works hard every day to keep our school clean and welcoming. A simple “thank you” goes a long way!
As always, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions throughout the year. Working together helps us support every student in becoming the person God intends them to be.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
Blessings,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita School
Dismissal Reminder
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during dismissal. A special thank you to all parents who wait for the “slow” sign before driving forward at the end of the day. For everyone’s safety, please do not move your vehicle until you see a teacher display the “slow” sign. Your attentiveness helps keep our students safe. It is normally just a three or four minute wait from dismissal until the “go” signal.
Uniforms on Fridays
Please remember that students should wear their regular uniforms on Fridays. Our Spirit Wear Fridays will begin after Thanksgiving. We’ll share more details as we get closer to that time.
If you missed Picture day, Picture Retake will be Tuesday, October 14th.

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others!
Monthly Outdoor Rosary
Please join us in praying the Rosary outdoors. We will meet monthly from May to October on the 13th of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Rita statue on the St. Rita grounds (near the parish office doors). Our next Rosary will be said on Friday, September 13. Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!
Welcome Back Mass
St. Rita Parish would like to welcome all school families back for another fun and successful year. Be sure to join your parish family for the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, September 14. Students are encouraged to wear St. Rita uniforms to show their school pride. If you take a photo of your child in their uniform at church and send it to their teacher or Mrs. Lopez, they can earn an OOU pass. There will be refreshments and a time to mingle with fellow school families and parishioners afterwards. Children are encouraged to play an active part in the Mass.
